I just wanted to make that joke =P
Most of the non ultra-rare ARs were still pretty mediocre at best, imo.
Yeah, but the sad thing is they are also not as light as they would be if they were a pistol or SMG of the same "power."
I tried to rank the weapons "objectively" by creating a little score for weight appropriateness and the highest ranked AR was the Saber, but that was at 35th overall. Also interestingly Spitfire was the bottom weapon, and Typhoon was second to last.
Of course the score is supposed to be a stand in for "weight appropriateness," not a rank of power. Hence Typhoon can be pretty useful overall, but still have a bad score.
The formula wasn't really perfect. The first version doesn't have an adjustment for protection multipliers, and doesn't adjust the pellet based shotguns and Talon. But when I tried a couple different things to add in adjustment for protection multipliers, it didn't really change the ranks much. Mostly it just gave the Acolyte an even more ridiculous score than it already had.
I didn't have a great idea of how much to adjust the pellet based weapons. It seemed like the tinkering I was doing with them turned into a subjective exercise where I was just screwing around until the list felt right, somewhat defeating the point of the exercise in the first place. I sort of liked just doing 6/8 or 5/6 pellets for shotguns and Talon respectively, but that didn't alter the overall order all that much, especially when combined with protection adjustment. And it isn't a great representation of the difference in patterns really.
