Me, and a roommate. are currently playing DAI Multiplayer and having loads of fun. Unfortunately we have really bad internet so we have to solo everything. I currently have a level 13 Reaver, with a "The Whale". It has 156 DMG, +23% GDB, and 2 GoH. All I know that he has is a level 14? Lego. And a level 5 arcane Warrior. It would be nice if we could get some help on what we should do. (Besides getting better internet, we live out in the sticks.)

I'm a little confused. When you say you have bad internet, what is the problem you are encountering? Can you find any public lobbies with other players in them and is the game too laggy to play with them? Or are you not finding any filled lobbies? If it's the second problem, that wouldn't be internet related and would probably involve not having all the free DLC installed which is a common oversight by new players.

It's the first problem. We did download both DLC's before even booting the game up. The internet we have usually has 600-1400 latency.

I was hoping it would be the second problem since I'm not a good source of information on the first :P. That high of latency seems to be a bottleneck that I don't know how to counteract. 600 isn't good but not horrendous. but 1400 would seem very difficult to play on for me. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you better than I can.

Thank you for trying to help us. But at this rate it seems like we might have to grind for months just to be able to do threatening/perilous.

I had a friend who also had same issue of which you speak; she could start a lobby and some of us could join but others couldn't at all. Her and I could play together as long as we had a 'middleman' haha. Eventually the game became unplayable: no one could join. We tried everything. She finally gave up and went over to another mmorpg. No issues there. Still couldn't tell you why it is, but good luck.

Just curious. When you could join with a "middleman" did it lag really bad? Or was it just fine? If it's the latter then the issues are different.

Yes there was lag if she hosted the lobby. If others hosted the lobby she would lag behind the rest of us. Only one person on our mutual friend list had no issue: hence he became middleman. But eventually it became so bad no one could play with her unless 'middleman' could host. Mind you we were on PSN, so in theory, at least how I understand it, we were on same 'server.'

That stinks. Was hoping for the latter. Best of luck to her.

I am pretty sure you can't host with satellite internet as the ping is so bad that no one else could join you.   You could join other people's games though... you will probably be rubber banding around and lag behind but at least you could play with others.    What about mobile data?   Some remote places could have fast mobile service.   You don't need a big download speed just good ping.   I don't know how much data DAIMP uses though.

I wouldn't feel too bad becasue even with grade A, super fast, expensive, I live in a major city internet the game connectivity sucks donkey balls.

Have you tried starting a game and then inviting your friend to join?  You can also start games and then wait for people to join which at times can be faster than looking for lobbies.

Opening/forwarding ports can help a lot. I have solid internet speed but had problems finding games and join friends. Since I opened/forwarded the ports that problem is gone.

Here is list of ports that should be opened:

Enabling UPnP also helps.

This is 100% correct.

You could join other people's games though... you will probably be rubber banding around and lag behind but at least you could play with others.

This is also correct. But I would probably have to find people willing to carry me.

What about mobile data?   Some remote places could have fast mobile service.   You don't need a big download speed just good ping.   I don't know how much data DAIMP uses though.

The ping we have from mobile is also bad.

Even with hi-speed? And like Icneed said, "I am pretty sure you can't host with sattelite internet as the ping is so bad that nobody could join. "

We have opened all ports already. the problem lies with our internet.
