Stronghold(s) on one or more planets

In ME1, Shepard's apartment on Intai'sei has a good outside view but there isn't much we could do in there. Very few interactive objects and no decorating, kinda restricted. We got that aspect in ME3 though, our personal apartment on the Citadel but still it was just plain in all terms. That being said, would it be nice if we get to establish or buy stronghold(s) on one or more planets? Ability to interact with more stuff, decorate and place useful objects from our personal starship like mod-bench, other things like shooting range room or whatever. Now, I'm not asking for an in-depth decorating options but just decent would be nice. I'm just interested in having an apartment/stronghold in an open world area, freedom to roam around. So, what do you think?

Sorry if this has been discussed already and thanks!

Good questions/ideas. :)

I'm not really interested in being tied to one planet, though. I hope we can explore many different ones, like in ME1, but are way more interesting. Like having fantastic scenery, biospheres, ruins, cities, creatures, aliens, advanced civilizations, conflict, technology, etc.

I rather customize a cabin on the ship.

Ar, there's this real need for me sometimes to just... interact with stuff in the area. In Shepard's cabin I just wanted to go and lay on the bed, or sit on the sofa, or... I dunno... use the toilet and not just flush it until it sort of clogged up or whatever. It's overwhelming for me sometimes. I don't just want to run around these areas, I want to interact with them, even if it's something as small as sitting. I love sitting.

Whether it's a stronghold, or a personal cabin or a hub I just want to interaaaaact. Even just a little bit. Even if it's just a bowl of Alien strawberries in some Alien's office that Ryder can eat from, with a small animation. I dunno. Gah.

Well logically this should ALREADY be part of Andromeda because you're exploring and looking for new homes for your people, so we should be able to claim pieces of land and use them as hubs.

Like the safehouses in Dying Light, you clear them up of all infected and "SAFE ZONE UNLOCKED".

Only bigger.

I'd want it to be very interactive though.  The citadel apartment was great, but I could only decorate a little and couldn't even chill on the sofa.  Skyhold's bedroom looked awesome but very little happened there and all I could do was stand majestically on the balcony looking at all my minions, or get changed.

So I just wouldn't want it to be a bunch of set decoration with no stuff going on.  Of course I dunno what that stuff should be....but maybe many more cutscenes and the chance to just hang out with your mates.  Not just romances, but everyone.

I loved having the mementos from LoTSB and finding the Normandy crash site.  Hows about mementos based off the choices you make, so if you sided with one side they gave you one thing, but the other side would give you something else?  Then every character's apartment would be unique to them.

Mixed feelings. For a long time I begged in the Bethesda´s forum for something like this for Fallout 4. Behold, the game is announced with this feature and when I went to play ......it´s sucks.

It's useless. Worse, consuming resource of useful things. Even worse? severely affect the performance of the game when we builds a lot.

On the other hand, I'm not against giving a chance. Different studio and franchise.

I'd love to be able to raid an NPC's candy dish, only to hear them complain that someone's been pilfering their candy.

And then they get their payback by replacing the candy with dextro candy. And then we die.

Exactly. Colonization is going to be a part of ME:A and the stronghold idea fits well.

I like the idea and as others have said I also like to interact.

I think I suggested in a similar thread a photo album that updates when you finish missions/find new areas.

A place with a few little things like that would be great, I also like sitting in chairs as stated above.

I don't know why I like sitting but there's something about knowing I can.

Also weights.

And a real bar, one where you have to grab a bottle out and pour a shot.

Gimme banter for mixing drinks correctly or incorrectly to. I want a Shepard who....Ryder who sucks at drink making.

I am still salty about the aborted stronghold feature in DAI  <_< . So if they just took that idea and put it into MEA i'd be so happy to finally see it in full glory.

I hadn't heard about them beforehand. When I realised I was taking a fort/castle I was excited.

It was average.

Huge potential though for something better.

I really enjoy the concept of creating settlements in FO4 as I enjoy putting my mark on the open world.  I just tire of fighting the controls every step of the way to actually build stuff. In theory, I would love to be able to build colonies in Mass Effect but realize that any building system would be limited by the engine not being designed for those features. I guess I just want the ability to make a home for myself with personal touches and leave the wonky controls in FO4.
