If it feels unnatural, then that prbly means it was done well. Of course, we cannot compare it to anything we know, since you know, literally every species we know of is not sentient and doesn't wear clothes.

It seems a tough thing to commit to. Depicting aliens nude means they'll inevitably have to answer a lot of questions about anatomical decisions they probably haven't thought through.

 

Also seeing Liara semi-nude doesn't really count, in my book. Asari are designed to seem anatomically identical to human females. Only obvious differences being the cranial situation and the blue skin. I think their design originates with the "green women" fantasy born about by Star Trek only... except in this case blue.

 

Allusions to things like "Fornax" are probably the closest you're going to get.

I mean, it isn't specifically a desire. I really don't care-but I am curious if the black lines and dots on the quarians are like a facial feature or where exactly those some from and how they show up since all other evolutionary things are explained.

I have no problem with that. I already saw the majority of the ME aliens concepts on the artbook and many are naked (because, in term of design, you need to create the anatomy before putting clothes on them) and they are perfectly fine, nothing shocking here IMO.

They are different, obviously they are aliens. Once you keep that in mind, you just have to accept their physical differences, especially if one of them is your LI.

I don't even ask for full nudity, but at least few things on the cuddling moments to make them more credible. It looks stupid to totally hide the aliens' bodies, as stupid as taking a shower with your underwears Man, and I still remember garrus on citadel, in the bed with shepard with his... whole armor. Yeah, sure. WTF.

In Mass Effect 3, they actually had naked Krogan (models). During Tuchanka, when Shepard and group are in the tunnels, and after. There's naked Krogan statues

Liara's just a blue human. But vg devs do know how female aliens look naked - if it's female, just slap boobs on it, mammal or no mammal. Protheans are apparently advanced enough to bang in full armor tho, if Javik's any indication.

Said species apparently commonly follows the time-tested stripper-remorseless-mercenary-killer lifepath. The game featured the philosopher-prostitute trope as well. No, it wasn't as explicitly pornographic as portrayed, but it was still pushing into some new frontier, if you'll pardon the expression.

The fact that Bioware later started catering to the sexual proclivities of everyone else doesn't change the fact that they started with teenaged boys. I found it offensive to some degree on several levels.

But full pixelated frontal nudity wouldn't have as teeth-grindingly horrifying as Ashley's dialogue as the romance arc started kicking in. Whatever went wrong in ME3, at least it didn't have *that*.

The funny thing to me is Asari probably have more female fans.
