Be prepared for a very long wall of text.

So I haven't been interested in ME for a long time. Always thought I wouldn't enjoy it and I have to pick and choose with my limited budget for video games, so I didn't play the trilogy. Then about a month ago I saw some of the news for Andromeda and I thought it looked cool. I then did a bit of research into the series and thought "Looks good, just got a nice promotion got some extra funds, why not?" So i went online bought every game for my 360 and got them about 3 weeks ago. Played the first game as a paragon infiltrator, and did about 70% of the missions, thought it was pretty good but not amazing. Did that over 4 days. Next day loaded up ME 2, continued my character, once again infiltrator and jumped in. My god was I impressed. I thought it was miles above the first. Much more polish on everything, combat and abilities much less clunky and felt very organic. But my favorite part, the cast. The vast amount of crew members and squad mates was great. I have all the dlc squad mates as well. They all may not have been equal in strength and some might have been similar in abilities and combat style, but their stories and personalitys were so diverse. I loved seeing Garus and Tali back, some of my favorites. I was sad that my romance from ME 1, Liara, was not a permanent squad member but the LOTSB DLC gave her a great story and some nice touching scenes that I thought were great. Have to say that my favorite new character was Thane, I like his species's look and their voices sound great and I also loved his background and loyalty mission. But overall Garus and Liara were and will always be my favorites. I know that some didn't like the loyalty missions but personally I loved them. My favorite missions in the series. Though some may not have been difficult, they were varied, all had gameplay not normally in the games and gave me great background on the characters. (My favorite part of games is the story normally so I lapped them up) I also loved Legion, he was hilarious if you listen to him. Then the final mission came. This is definitely my favorite mission in the series overall. I somehow got through it without anyone dying, (People can die in it, right?) and destroyed the base. But this mission was amazing. The music was astoundingly good, combat great (Although the boss was super easy for me) and how it was broken up into multiple parts and you had to assign people to different roles. I think that's mainly how people die if you pick the wrong man for the job. I just picked rationally. Now onto the final game. I had had enough of the infiltrator and decided to try sentinel, loved it. I really wanted to 100% ME 3 to get all the war assets. I played through the game over the last week, doing every single mission I could fine, 100% scanning every system, doing all the DLC and every N7 mission. My favorite part was getting peace between the Quarians and the Geth, that was great. Right before the Cerberus HQ mission I went and did a few MP matches and got my galactic readiness to 66%. I had over 5000 EMS and went in. I was disappointed. The HQ was kinda boring, yes learning about how EDI was that rogue VI on the moon in ME 1 and Kai lang was kinda cool, but not that great. Then I got to Earth and thought, "If this is as good as the Suicide Mission then this will be great," it wasn't. The sectioning of the mission was good but overall I was disappointed. I loved talking to all my crew members from all the games and giving a great speech but other than that I thought it was pretty boring. The background scenery with the reapers and ships looked cool but I wanted to be over there, firing missiles at reapers, dodging death beams with my squamates at my sides. But then it ended with a few waves of tough enemies but they were still kinda easy cause I was level 57 and OP AF. Killing that reaper was cool but they already had done it better just a few missions ago on Rannoch. Then I went up to the Citadel. I walked to the console and saw Anderson all bloodied and that was great, even though Anderson couldn't have gotten up there (Plot holes much?). Then one of my favorite characters came into the room, the Illusive Man. Always thought he was great. I was prepared for an epic boss fight with him fully indoctrinated like Sarens fight in ME 1 but then I just talked him into killing himself. Boring. Then met the star, god, child thing (Hate that they totally took the easy way out on that one). I thought this was the worst part of the series. He totally blew the whole mystery and god-like presence of the Reapers. It turned out that this little AI child was controlling them all along. So awful. But the background with the Leviathan was great. Then I chose destroy. Control made me feel like I was just playing into the Reapers hands since they wanted the Illusive man to do that and he was indoctrinated so not that one, and synthesis sounded like I just went against everything I had worked for. So I reluctantly chose destroy, I was distraught because it would kill the Geth, my favorite race. Then the reapers died and I got that speech from Hacket and the stupid slide show reel. I did love that Liara was putting my name on the memorial wall, that part was great and that I took a breath at the end. But even with EC DLC I still thought the ending fell flat. I had heard that the ending was awful before it too but I hadn't heard anything about the EC DLC so I thought they has fixed the ending. Maybe to some people they did, but to me I thought it wasn't an ending worthy of the series, especially compared to the endings of the last 2 games. So that's my thought on the series. I am gonna replay as a different class and with a different love interest, but probably still paragon because the renegade options just seemed like I would just be a total dick to everybody. If you want to give me some suggestions for my second play through that would be great. If you made it this far thanks for reading, now I'm gonna go play some Overwatch and in a few days start my second full play through.

TL;DR ME 1 was good, ME 2 WAS AMAZING MY FAVORITE BY FAR and lastly ME 3 was better than first but no where near 2.

ME Trilogy was a good ride for me too.  Yes, folks die in ME2 Suicide Mission so you did good by keeping everyone alive.  Anderson managed to slip in probably after you were shot at.

Part of me feels like Priority: Earth should've been like Suicide Mission, but that's the way they decided to do this.

ME2 for me is where everything from design and execution fell together.  The story writing may be lacking, but you're immersed instead on your squad mates plight instead of Collectors.  That's fine.

Last point.  I don't want to sound mean, but your post could improve in terms of readability by separating it into (many) paragraphs. :)

I agree with you that me2 was the most amazing of the series with the ending in specific.

But me3 had way more plot on everything.

Me3 was incredible compared to me2, and the last fights were more like a relax after an incredible franchise.

And if i may recommand a second playthrough I'd recommand an Engeneer playthrough. It will be more challenging and you'll have an unique approach here and there (omega dlc is first one I can think of).
To be even more unique I'd let your profile be a Spacer (Your mom lives in this one) and a warhero/rutheless (Depending on paragon/renegade).

I'll see you in andromeda i hope

You can play renegade and still have a good outcome. It depends on what you want to do with that character.

When you decide to do another playthrough, you can post your playthrough in this thread

I would read that, but there are no paragraphs.

Hi!

I’m glad to see someone enjoys the trilogy as much as I do. I’ve played all three games several times through and I’m anxious for Andromeda. I recently picked ME1 and 2 on Steam and played through all three yet again :D

Unlike many players, I thought ME3 was great. I’m inclined to agree with Spartan_Dare on this. I really enjoyed the process of gaining galactic support for a cause.

I play Vanguard pretty faithfully. It’s a lot of fun and can be a blast with an all-biotic crew. It’s hilarious to see enemies flying everywhere. Give this link about the Vanguard a look-see. I really like the advice the author gives here. The main premise of the build rings true for casual and hardcore players as well as those who enjoy the Insanity play-through. Currently, I’m trying to follow the same guidelines in ME3 - I'm not sure how that will turn out. Here’s the link: The Ultimate Vanguard.
