I'm hoping we'll get the option to bring none like in DA to make the game harder.
Just having more enemies could accomplish something similar. The best maps to me were the ones you got swarmed in, but that could probably happen now without making the area so tight...since they aren't targetting old consoles any longer.
I don't know what you mean by hard though. Hard to me was the Collector Ship on Insanity. If the whole game was like that, I'd be happy.

IMO more enemies on screen does not make the game harder necessarily. There were plenty of times in the trilogy were there were quite a few enemies on screen but the game was pretty easy given they all were morons. Collector ship on insanity was alright, but still wasn't challenging. The best example of a challenge I can describe is playing the arena against the clones solo on insanity. That was really fun and because Shepard's clones weren't dim wits, combat required me to think more.

The arena is almost too much for me. I got all achievements, but I don't think I'll do it again.
Maybe more enemies doesn't matter. It's just being swarmed that I liked. I figure that could accomplish something similar, but maybe not. Especially in big spaces.

Only because the devs refuse to require buttons in combination. The consoles already have problems with button mapping for 3 people, so having 4 would turn it into a nightmare.
BioWare did that on PC with NWN, but hasn't since.

Even for RP reasons this would be a great option. Can we not already do this in the ME games?I'm hoping we'll get the option to bring none like in DA to make the game harder.
Obviously there needs to be a maximum squad size, but I can't think of a (non-paternalistic) reason to enforce a minimum squad size.

Yourself, two companions, and a no-name crew member in a red shirt.

Sure the way the arena was structured was a bit blasé, but the clone combat was the only thing I was interested in because of the difficulty it offered. That's what I want that difficulty. Playing insanity wasn't really hard, until the arena with the clones. Being swarmed would be awesome as well, I just want the fights to be harder. If they are going to swarm us; let that swarm feel like it has a chance of killing us. At the end of the battle I want my health bar to be in the red.The arena is almost too much for me. I got all achievements, but I don't think I'll do it again.

it's gonna be three again obviously.BioWare, how many team members can we bring with us on mission? I would be happy with a four-member team; I and three others.

we'll see.I've always wanted something that this game never had but was in Dragon Age. Party banter outside the elevator.

Same as the previous ME games, it'll be 1 plus 2 suicidal decoys.
Don't worry, Shepard--I'm genetically engineered to stand on cover instead of hide behind it.

I imagine it'll remain the same (3 including yourself) since with 3 NPC's some situations might be too easy or the environment will have to shift to allow a considerable distance between any two cremates, as well as making the command system more manageable. However 4 (including yourself) would be interesting, but that's mostly because I'm interested in the banter.

I think it should be about 12 people, in case badguys need to invade the ship.

most likely 3 including Ryder.
would like there to be
- an option to go alone or just with 1, even if can't be for all missions (Story telling, cinematography cut scenes etc)
- something to do for the rest of the squad while being on the main mission, like a hold the line, defend colonies, gather resources, do recon that help your mission or add something to the story etc

Same as before, 2 squad members. If you examine the HUD from the leaked gameplay footage, you can notice the abilities of our squad members sorted out under the shield and health bars. To the right of it are our abilities.
I agree with this.
Also, the gif got me thinking about the physics of jet packs like this. It really seems like sudden bursts of thrust from an awkward position on your back would lead to some wicked whiplash. You'd probably have to have some built in suit mechanisms to help stabilize your joints.
But that's off topic.

I would imagine it would be a maximum of 3 (You plus 2 NPCs) like it has always been. It was 3 in KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect 1-3 and Dragon Age series so why would they change it now?

I'm fairly positive they'll stick with with a three-member squad, too, but to indulge my pedantic side: Dragon Age has always had a party of four - including you - rather than three.
(And Baldur's Gate had a party of up to six members--though, like I said, I reckon Andromeda'll almost certainly stick with three.)

Riker: Allow me to introduce my current party. Tasha is a temporary companion who'll die early in the game, Troi is a romance option who is as psychic as the plot needs her to be, Worf keeps trying to tank when he has high strength but low endurance, Wesley is part of an annoying escort mission... and I'm currently debating whether or not to grow a beard for the charisma bonus?
(Is it weird that TNG oddly works as an RPG?)

It'll be 2 squadmates again. Hopefully that along with the rumored modest squad size (7) and the absence of previous game character baggage that ME3 suffered from will mean that all of the andromeda squaddies are well developed characters that have a high amount of added dialogue, additional interactivity and maybe even a little plot importance in each of the game's levels, planets, quests, whatever.

This might seem a bid...out there and radical but I'd love to have a companion who you can assign to support roles on certain missions, similar to for example CAPCOM during NASA manned missions. Obviously the support role will have to fit the theme but for an example imagine assigning a tech companion to act as your science officer for a mission. Its a bad example of what I'd like to see in the game but its an example of what a support role can be.
I always feel like I'm missing a third companion during a mission and this would remedy that.

I thought it'd have been cool to have some participation in the older games too. Like the N7 missions.. just some specialist to trigger things. Like Tali at a console or something. Or in ME3, see Jack and her kids help out in some way. Not necessarily active teammates, but part of the mission.
