Hey Guys,

This is probably a question that has been asked before.  But is anyone frustrated by the PC controls?

I have played the previous two Dragon Age games and I absolutely loved them, but why are the controls so different in Dragon Age Inquisition?  The other two games were so accessible to disabled gamers like myself, and this one is not accessible  at all.  Being a disabled gamer I am pissed to be honest.

Does anyone know how to change the controls or if there is a patch that changes the controls?

If not thanks anyways.

The only thing that was done was this:

https://forum.biowar...concerns/page-1

A thread to capture all the whining over-entitled PC players complaints. Oh and some fans to tell those with issues there were no issues.

Sad but true.

PS: Yes so frustrated with the controls I quit playing the game within a week of purchase. That has never happened to me with any other BW title before. Made by pc players for pc players was a scam to get $$.

Could be you be more specific other than say you want them to be more accessible?  What is it you feel is missing?  The only thing that is remarkably different (to me) from the last two games is the poor settings for tactics.  Combat feels more like DA2 with the DAO tactical view option.  If anything this seems far better than DA2.

I could suggest you pick up programmable gamepad where you can program the buttons to mimic keyboard buttons.  I don't know what you need.  Perhaps you are unable to game with a right hand or left hand.  There are programmable gaming mice and gamepads that work quite well.

Well in the earlier Dragon Age games you can adjust your camera and move your character with the mouse.  I use a special mouse called the "Jouse 3" with my mouth and I could click to move my character and also go into combat as well in DA: O and DA: 2, that is why the other two games were awesome.

It is possible to change the keybindings for all the PC controls in Options. However, I'm not sure it that helps your situation.

A few things worth considering:

I always rebind movement to WASD and E for Interact. I have no idea why they decided that WASD wasn't good enough for movement.

There is a binding for toggling Mouse Look on and off. What Mouse Look does is makes your character look the way the mouse is pointing, which is how most games work.

There is a binding for toggling auto-attacks on and off. I bound that to F. I just hit F once and attacking starts and continues until I hit F again.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input and advice, but unfortunately that doesn't help my situation.

I hope Bioware changes the PC controls, so the controls are more like the first two Dragon Age games.

It's unlikely that there will be any future patches, unfortunately.

Quote: "Made by pc players for pc players was a scam to get $$."

- This.

Loved the previous DA games and bought DA:I for my gf to play like a year ago. Finally decided to play it myself, now, in 2016 and guess what... For PC gamers huh? The controls are so terrible, can't even find the right words to describe this pain in the ***. I hate on EA and their *** customer support for years already but kept buying the DA games cause I loved em. This is over. Will never ever buy a freaking EA game again.

It's not even remotely imaginable that the controls are still that bad. For PC gamers ahahahaha. Found an interview on Kotaku from back in mid-2015 where they refused to say anything regarding the UI and further improvements for PC players. Still nothing has happened. What a giant pile of steaming let-down.

/Rant end

You may ban me now, customer finally lost.

I have to agree on the Controls.  This game was designed for Console and given and last minute, half-assed attempt at a port to PC.  I don't own a console, but a friend of mine does and you can tell it was optimized for consoles.  Plays much better and doesn't have half the problems that PC's had/have.  With the forums closing down here shortly, I think it's time to say goodbye to Bioware for me.
