What baseless accusations? What conspiracy theories? I've been very clear what I'm talking about. For I dunno, about the billioneth time for the challenged, I'm asking to see more diversity in how women are represented in games. I've noted that some men whine a lot when developers attempt to give more diversity. I really don't know nor do I care why that bugs you so much. But, I have my guesses as to why this annoys you so much. At any rate, keep looking raving about conspiracy theories everytime you encounter a perspective you don't like.

Yep.

That's the final check.

She meets the criteria of being a regressive feminist that no game developer should cater to.

And most people are not against that, there are many women in various roles in video games today, some of them attractive, some not, some simple NPCs, while others are powerful characters that dominate the setting.

What people dislike, is when this "diversity" requires potential LI to be hit with the ugly stick just to pass the Tumblr inspection.

There's nothing wrong with having ugly women in videogames tbh. The problem is when people take it as though you're attacking women as a group for stating that said ugly women are ugly.

That's not the proper terminology for the aesthetically challenged amongst the other half of the species.

I agree, but isn't the debate more about whether she's ugly, and so the issue being that people are attacking women who aren't ugly as being ugly?

Maia and I might not see eye to eye on a number of things, but her appreciation of fine Taco Bell cuisine makes her an alright dame in my eyes, feminist or not.

And while that's true for some female gamers, I'm sure others would like those things *in addition* to some eye candy...

Yeah, but then which group of female gamers are you referring to when saying "females and males find different traits attractive in their counterparts"? Unless you're saying "both females and males can find different traits attractive" which would be a case for making more "aesthetically diverse" characters.  :P

I'm all for personality + eye candy myself. Alas, I rarely get it.

Something that has happened approximately never.

Better graphics engine, can be more detailed in their character models now. I feel that is part of the complaints regarding the Asari in question.

But quarian males had a huge bulge in the trilogy:

As a straight, heterosexual male who thinks Anita is a basket-case. I find Cassandra Pentaghast to be the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen. So really, I can't really see the merits of defending a stereotype in regards to appearances.

Like I said, she is probably a LI.

And the try-hard racoon paint plus the perception that she might be a reincarnation of Sera, doesn't do her any favors.

No one here is arguing that all love interests have to be ugly. I'm really confused why you are going after me for something some nebulous person on the internet might have said somewhere that you find offensive. Really weird. It's like you have these pre-conceived notions of what feminists are saying and you can't see through those conceptions to read what I'm actually writing. Right here. On this board.

Yes, we've had our go-arounds and have come to a strange place of...treating each other like human beings. Sometimes.

That's debatable. I love Cassandra, but I don't see why she had to have Aveline's chin implanted on her between DA2 and DA:I.

I would say that she is attractive *despite* some of her features, not because of them.

Maybe the asari has a great voice and personality. The blonde human a LI with that + eye candy.

Same deal with the krogan and some obligatory human male LI.

Seems both male and female fans win.

Of course this is all supposition.

Clearly, Kal Reegar was manly beyond words, surely someone of such testosterone filled maleness would be proudly displaying his masculinity. Being a Quarian, it would be a heavy risk....but the priiiize.

Honestly, where is this coming from? We know literally not a thing about her personality, and I assume "the Sera" is referring to personality?

No, it isn't. Aside from the fact that she's one LI out of eight, there's no possible evidence for her being "hit with the ugly stick" to appease "tumblr," as opposed to the artists just picking what they thought suited her.

The blonde, petite, buxom blonde is what you all should be concerned with. She is definitely a LI for men.

Not that it matters to me, but I actually hope so. None of the female LIs for males in Dragon Age or Mass Effect have been blond. They've almost been exclusively dark-haired. It would be nice for guys who find blond hair attractive to have an option.

I studied such things closely during the trilogy...for science and such. It seems this manliness-beyond-all-manliness is exclusively a quarian dude thing.  :D

But Sera was the F-only LI. I don't know what possible evidence you're pointing to on her being an LI.

Good. So you might understand why people are slightly apprehensive when a character who is probably a LI looks like a racoon with chubby baby face.

She isn't ugly, and her personality might be great enough that I won't even notice her physical eccentricities, but people tend to be suspicious of Bioware at this point for a variety of reasons.

No more suspicious than me. What happened to femShep in the trilogy with her LIs was effed up and beyond unnecessary. MaleShep had 6 LI (paramours), all babes, all faithful (even though some most certainly didn't seem the monogamous type).

I think the ME team is nothing like DAI's, and you have nothing to worry about. Straight women/gay men however do have cause for worry in ME. We got slighted real bad.

Edit: I am not sure, but wasn't it stated that the 2 extra LI in DAI was to make up for what happened in ME to femShep? Well, they'd need to add 2 more male LI in DAI to set it even with maleShep's in ME, but I am not petty like that so wgaf.

Considering most females like the new Asari and Most males hate her. The best option would be to make her a lesbian romance.

So? You never played a female character?

Maybe the asari has a great voice and personality.

Hopefully. I was hoping for someone like Tela Vasir, but if she will end up with a likeable personality I certainly won't complain.

No, it isn't.

I like your confidence, but saying so isn't making it reality.

The obvious main enemy of the Tumblrinas is the straight male gamer, so the options were between a possibly non-sexual weird looking boring romance about as passionate as a cardboard box with Josephine (disclaimer: my personal opinion. obviously.), or Cassandra which was mostly great but received Aveline's chin for an unknown reason.

Honestly, where is this coming from? We know literally not a thing about her personality, and I assume "the Sera" is referring to personality?

It is rather early for that I agree, but the lack of information added to other factors makes some people jump to conclusions.

She looks very young, and her facial reaction to that knife plus the try-hard racoon paint is probably the basis for the association.
