She looks like a man.

At first, I could not figure the gender. There are both hard and soft features.
Perhaps this is the "new look" or when the Asari are young and change as they mature.

I think they're just trying too hard (at not making an obvious spacebabe).
you look like a man.She looks like a man.
she was not a looker. She's either ugly or a kid.
Word, Sera was hideous.
There's nothing wrong in fiction, period.
Disgusting on the other hand...
Why do people say she's ugly? It's a face. It's far from the worst face you've ever seen.
By this logic there's only one ugly person.
I'm actually a fan of Sera.. so now I'm against both camps here ![]()
This is nothing like her.

Yeah, not nearly as ugly or annoying as Sera.
Well. she could be simply young, especially if you consider Liara's age of 109 years and having had spent over 50 years studying the prothians in ME 3.
And then there is the young asari and the salarian in ME 2 deciding which equipment to purchase on Illium and that asari said she was 60 years old, though I may be slightly off on her age.
While it is said within ME 1 that some asari generally spend about 400 years in the young adult stage of their lives doing whatever they want before considering considering mating for the "Matron Stage" of their lives. However, there appears to be no specific age for the transformations between the three stages.
So, could the young asari be a romantic interest? I would suggest it is possible.
She looks like shrek
...All ogre now...
Most likely this Asari:
It's only dimples people. Jeez.
Correction. There is a A LOT wrong with that Asari, and that Asari is a microcosm of everything wrong with the "new" Bioware. When you are making a game in a series and you can't even make the same kind of game that was the most well received like ME 2?
Don't make the game. If you have employees that are "triggered" by the games you made in the past? Maybe they should start their own studio and make their own damn franchise. Mass Effect had a certain style. Break that style and you are not making a Mass Effect game. You are making an abomination which is what that Asari should be referred to as.
Example as to what I am talking about. If a Bioware employee working on Mass Effect is triggered by this short stroll through Omega? Let me know. Why? Cus I will NEVER purchase your games again. I will gladly play your old games at 4k that looks better than most new games. Oh and I could have done the same thing with Jacobs's butt because he also does not have "strategic butt covering".
Oh and I didn't even get the dance in this video...Was more meant to show a mod.
She's trying too hard with the racoon thing. She's the Asari version of a blue haired Tumblrina.

God forbid BioWare include a significant female character within a game who isn't good-looking.
(For the record, I actually think she's cute. I just also think that the ridiculous double-standard that exists when it comes to male and female characters - feel free to have an average-to-ugly dude as a significant character, but if it's a woman, she'd better be at least above-average or else - is, well, a ridiculous double-standard.)
So there retconning the arasi like they did the qunari.

What a joke. Especially considering Shep is built like an Adonis as is Jacob, and Kaidan is in excellent shape as well. Also you are missing the point, as many have said. "It" looks androgynous or male in the face. If anything this is DEMEANING to women by giving women characters male features. In before BS semantics about Asari's gender when they all looked female in ME 1,2,3.
I have a really great idea though. How about you and the rest of the population who had a problem with everything being the way it was in the Mass Effect franchise, create your own studio, your own franchise and your own game and label it a "intersectional feminism" studio. Tell me how that works out for you as far as sales. Why did you even play ME 1-3 in the first place? So that you could bully the dev into changing everything you want changed? I do love how a TINY fraction of the population is trying to bully the rest of the world though.
Want to know how well recieved a "intersectional feminism" Mass Effect will be when ME 2 was the most popular as far as playthrough and that was when they essentially implemented "bro shooter" Gears of War combat? Might want to go look at Feig saying Ghostbuster's needed to clear 500 million dollars to make a profit with all the marketing. 400 million dollar loss. That is what studios get for catering to 1 percent of the population who uses women as a shield, when women did not even go see Ghostbuster's, nor did all women like it.
But if Bioware wants to roll with this and listen to a tiny fraction of the buyers of ME 1-3 who act as if they are the majority just because they are people with no job or life who post on a forum 24/7? Have a blast. Those who don't learn from history...welp you know the drill.
And...we have very recent history showing what a colossal f up this would be on Bioware's part. DA:I sales vs Witcher 3 included. Witcher 3 just passed 10 million in sales and we have not got one concrete number on DA:I.

Then made the straight and bisexual option for straight women ugly, so you can have a ugly romance too, because I'm pretty sure that asari is going to be a romance for Fem!Ryder (and maybe straight male!ryder), and for females option we already have two option who are not good looking (sera and Joshie, well joshie is average), and staright female has cullen and solas who are not ugly at all. And in Mass effect straight females also have kaiden, and garrus is not good looking but is one of the best characters. So yeah, maybe is time for the straight females to get a unnapeling romance.

I don't do the romance vary often. but we did get dealt a bad hand on Cassandra they went out of there way to make her ugly she was pretty in DA2.

It is not even about unappealing. The Asari simply does not look like a female. Many people are saying "male". Let me give you an example. This woman in Witcher 3 is not the "supermodel" type, but still looks very much like a female (and looks more like a woman than Cassandra did to). Want to include women like this? Go for it Bioware. I would romance the hell out of Cerys. One man's chicken is another man's steak. Put a male jawline on a female though? Nope. Agendas are being pushed and I want no part of it and retconning Asari to appease a tiny fraction of the population that the vast majority does not agree with is insanity.

the essjaydoubleuoos ruined mah sexualized alien race. whatever will i do.

<huge snip>
You seem to be forgetting that Asari aren't exactly female. Yes, if we're just looking at this one picture from a 'trailer', it appears to be a retcon. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. The Asari are mono gendered, and though they've always been presented as explicitly female in the trilogy.. to me it looks like Bioware may be angling for a more non-binary appearance to make up for that. I don't see the problem with it.
As other people have said, we won't really know until the game is released, though.

Cassandra romance was great, but I agree, she was ugly. In DAI straight women and Gay man has the good looking and most interesting character, for other hand lesbians and straight mans get the ugly option.

I would be happy with a character like her as a romance. She was a great character and wasn't ugly, I don't know why bioware is making the female characters ugly, at least the one you can romance,it like if they are not femininethey can be good looking. In the witcher 3 not all women where pretty but all of them look like women, not like this asari.
