So dimples don't make a female look female? She looked pretty female when she was startled by Drak the Krogan. What's next? Fem Ryder look ugly? Looks like some people haven't been outside or have seen women. It is not even about unappealing. The Asari simply does not look like a female. Many people are saying "male". Let me give you an example. This woman in Witcher 3 is not the "supermodel" type, but still looks very much like a female (and looks more like a woman than Cassandra did to). Want to include women like this? Go for it Bioware. I would romance the hell out of Cerys. One man's chicken is another man's steak. Put a male jawline on a female though? Nope. Agendas are being pushed and I want no part of it and retconning Asari to appease a tiny fraction of the population that the vast majority does not agree with is insanity.
There's nothing wrong with the Asari.

I'm sure a lot of us see ugly people and women very often, but that doesn't mean we want to see one in our videogame and especially if she is the romantic option for our character.

You seem to be forgetting that Asari aren't exactly female. Yes, if we're just looking at this one picture from a 'trailer', it appears to be a retcon. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. The Asari are mono gendered, and though they've always been presented as explicitly female in the trilogy.. to me it looks like Bioware may be angling for a more non-binary appearance to make up for that. I don't see the problem with it.
As other people have said, we won't really know until the game is released, though.
You are forgetting that they all looked 100 percent female in the previous 3 games. The argument you are making is for a retcon to push an agenda.
This sounds like you're trying to work out some personal psychological issue rather than respond to KirkyX.
Oh, but he could basically call me a pig and say I only was interested in "perfect 10's"? Nice double standard you have here Alan, with your 30 plus thousand posts and you pushing the same agenda that he does and attacking and reporting any deviation from "intersectional feminism". For the record my wife looks more like Cerys and spends a lot of time in the gym. I am a big man and she is a large woman. I do love being called a woman hater after being married for more decades than many of these pinheads who are single have been alive though. Very entertaining. Want to find men that do not like women? Straight men is aiming at the wrong demographic. The entire argument is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. It reminds me of Nazi propaganda with "the bigger the lie".
As far as my wife, like many women she thinks that intersectional feminists are con artists and BS artists, while they use disgusting tactics like labeling anyone that does not want to buy into anything they want (which changes daily) a "bigot".
Now go hit that report button Alan in an attempt to censor any argument and logic or do as William Shatner says.

Male jawline is a male jawline. Female jawline is a female jawline. Lips are also different. Cerys is what a woman who is "strong" looks like. Cassandra is not. This Asari is not. Both are men from the mouth down to the jaw. Either artists need fired or Bioware is instructing them to do this. Either way? Men can tell. Passing off transgenders as women is not going to work.

I don't like the greasepaint mask, that is really the only thing I don't like. She might be cuter without that stupid greasepaint mask. I like the green eyes she might be the offspring of an asari and a human, I always thought that if Fem Shepard and Liara had a daughter she would have bright green eyes like Shepard.
Wait a damn minute, you don't suppose that she might be...nah...maybe...probably not...never know....

Report? Don't be silly. When I think someone is sounding ridiculous, why would I want to silence him?
This entire thread will be gone, just like always. Left is a woman. Right is a guy in drag. Just like the Asari. But whatever. If Bioware wants to keep pushing a transgender agenda? Have fun. Maybe Cyberpunk can hit 20 million sold, as people look for a replacement to Mass Effect. Just keep calling straight males "misogynists" even though those males are complaining that WOMEN'S FEATURES are being replaced by MEN'S features. The real men who hate women are the ones ok'ing this or doing the art themselves. They are the oppressors of women. Not men who marry them and raise families with them and ATTEMPT to bully the world into accepting a different definition of woman or female.

It's a retcon to fix a retcon, more accurately. Which sounds silly, but like I said, the Asari are described as mono-gendered in the lore; by correcting that appearance in ME:A, it would be making up for their presentation in the trilogy. Very little to do with an "agenda".

Cassandra romance was great, but I agree, she was ugly. In DAI straight women and Gay man has the good looking and most interesting character, for other hand lesbians and straight mans get the ugly option.
I would be happy with a character like her as a romance. She was a great character and wasn't ugly, I don't know why bioware is making the female characters ugly, at least the one you can romance,it like if they are not femininethey can be good looking. In the witcher 3 not all women where pretty but all of them look like women, not like this asari.
Sara was not that bad until she went bat **** crazy on me,,lol I play both male and female characters.

Wrong. It is a retcon to push a transgender agenda. Want to make a game about Transgender? Do it. Let the game stand on it's own merit. Do not attempt to push an agenda by sneaking it into Mass Effect, and using underhanded tactics like giving Cassandra a male jawline.

Yes, but they are supposed to look like females and all of the asari we have known refere themself as females and act likes females. Why change it now? why bioware want to make them look more androgynous? They were fine.

I find it interesting that simply being an asari shown in a trailer is enough evidence for some people to assume she will be a love interest. Even more interesting are the people who don't claim she will be, but are still offended that an asari would dare exist without a certain level of hotness.

Giving a male jaw to a "female character" is an agenda. This is the second time Bioware has done it. Bioware already lost this battle. The entire world on gaming sites ripped the Asari apart. The FACT that the op made the post at all shows what a huge issue it is. He is trying to defend what people can see with their own eyes and have voiced complaints about on darn near every gaming site. They say it looks "male" "wrong" "goofy" because it does. Just like Cassandra does.
The OP lost his argument even making this thread. Bioware will lose with sales. Either way this is a boring conversation and this forum is a cesspool of astroturfers and agenda pushers who I can only imagine do this as their job, when they are not writing for "The Mary Sue" which is owned by a rich white man (got to love it).

When has anyone complained about dimples? I've seen this several times from people defending the Asari's looks, but never from the people they are criticizing. makes me wonder if people even know what dimples are. (hint: they have nothing to do with eyebrows or jawline)
Either way, it's just one Asari, people, lets wait til we all the characters in context before we lose our s#!t
Remember all the complaining about Morrigans look in a trailer? She looked nothing like that in game, in DAI.

Who cares about appearance? A person's character is what is important.
The Asari looks fine. The only issue I have is the eyebrows, but that's because we haven't seen any Asari with eyebrows so it seems off.
