I don't even know if I should waste my time posting in this particular thread, with all the shallow opinions I see here. But I will anyway, because many of the posts in this thread utterly disgust me. 

 

1. Cassandra Pentaghast, is not ugly. Anyone who believes that, is imo an incredibly superficial individual and I feel sorry for you. I won't even waste my time pointing out WHY she is imo the greatest romance option ever created, because clearly some neanderthals in here wouldn't believe it anyway.

 

2. The Asari does not look like a playboy playmate anymore. Boo hoo, get over it. The fact you take such outrageous offense to such a thing imo speaks volumes about how pitiable your life must be if a more realistic appearance makes you so upset. I cannot properly articulate my aforementioned disgust and utter indignation in regards to the draconian and depthless nature of the complaints about a character comprised of pixels and code.  

 

3. The irony of some folks holding this view while proclaiming this place a cesspit due to people who disagree with their irrelevant and pathetic opinions is copiously hilarious.

And I'm sorry for you if you can accept that for some people someone can be ugly and for other people not. Different people different tastes, and that doesn't make them shallows. I don't find cassandra pretty, but that dosen't mean I didnt enjoy her romance or character.

 

Also I don't think anyone is offended because they don't look pretty anymore, at least not like the ones who are defended her appearance, they are more offended just because someone critics an apparence of a character who is not real and they don't know.

Most would reject romantic advances from ugly / fat / disfigured people regardless of their personality.

 

What you could claim is that assuming that someone looks "normal" or even slightly less, personality can go a long way to attract romantic interest.

Sure. And many of those exceptions are people who themselves look similarly unattractive, and are therefore forced to "compromise".

Attractiveness in this sense is not subjective. Cassandra can not be appealing to someone, sure. But no one can sit here and say she is objectively ugly, that is pure falsehood.

Male jawline is a male jawline. Female jawline is a female jawline. Lips are also different. Cerys is what a woman who is "strong" looks like. Cassandra is not. This Asari is not. Both are men from the mouth down to the jaw. Either artists need fired or Bioware is instructing them to do this. Either way? Men can tell. Passing off transgenders as women is not going to work.

There is no such thing as a male jaw / female jaw. There is such thing as a stronger / weaker jaw, and it's because of some fool that those two things now denote masculinity/femininity.

If there was such thing as a male jaw / female jaw, every male on this earth would have a male jaw, and females would have a female jaw. But they don't.

I dont find her attractive at all, but wouldn't care if she is a companion or romance if i like her personality.

I mean I'm not attracted to Asari in general, and the only problem I have is how forced Liara is as an LI like bioware wanted everyone to choose Liara by also wanted to give a choice so they just begged us all to pick Liara.

But was still excited when she came back for ME3, because she is a friend!

And I was going to say something about my regional population, ethnic variation, and attractiveness standards but then I remembered I was talking about blue space people and maybe it's been too long a night but it's not the end of the world if the blue space lady has a squarer face like a 70s superhero instead of a pointier face like a 90s superhero.

 

Also, she still looks like she's about 12 to me, though it's hard to tell WHEN TALKING ABOUT 2 SECONDS OF A BLUE SPACE LADY MAKING SILLY FACES.

With the awesome power of frostbite 3 and those amazing animations, I'm glad Bioware are scaling back the hotness! I just couldn't handle some super hot women making sex faces at me while telling me i'm awesome! I would have get sheet of plastic to cover my keyboard just to play! let alone of the chances of going blind before the end of the game.
