Do you think BioWare's annoyed with their fans?

I really think this is yet another example of them not getting it, and it only serves to further alienate their fan base.  They must be happy with status quo sales, 'cause it seems like they place their blinders on in order to target the next-gen audience with each game, while assuming the existing one will just blindly follow along.  It's part of the reason DAI got steamrolled by TW3 in virtually every way that mattered...and I'm sure if CDPR had decided to given you constant traveling companions like Bioware does, they'd have kicked their azz on that front too.  I guess those of us that had hoped they would respond to recent game deficiencies and slowly climb their way back to the RPG mountaintop need to let go of that notion.  It's hard to imagine any of those other social media outlets can work as effectively as a forum structure does.  Very disappointing decision...and whatever money they think they're saving in this move will be offset by those that have had enough and simply stop playing.  I'm not saying I'll boycott MEA, but unlike past Bioware games I'll wait for fan reviews and critic reviews I trust.  If they are TW3 positive, I'll buy it at full price.  Otherwise, I'll wait for the 1/2 off bin.

Sorry for the rant, I intended a short comment that got out of control.

Don't forget the cartel market whales that complain that they bought 40 crates and didn't get the item they wanted, not understanding that if the drop rate is 2% per crate, your odds are 2% no matter how many crates you buy. Those are my favorite SWTOR complaint threads.

Although to be fair, the gullible gamblers have kept SWTOR running.

Han! I'm so glad I at least get to see you post before this is all gone.

What this all comes down to is "corporate culture" . When companies get big enough, and start caring more about it's stock holders than its fans, the philosophy changes to "Customers are a necessary evil of doing business".  In other words, we don't want  to talk to them, hear from them or care about them once the buy our product.

Please if you like, come to a DA/ME/Social site that makes it all about the REAL FANS.

It's a decent enough game (considering the price point) if you're disciplined enough to not get suckered into those types of microtransactions.  If I had actually had to pay for the game, I don't feel it's worth it.  It's occasionally fun with oodles of tedium.

Or they've realized that you're not very pleasant people and they don't want to waste any more time or money on giving you a soapbox.

Just putting that out there.

Who isn't pleasant? You? Me?

I'm fine. I'm looking at you now.

I'm going to say that the answer appears to definitively be "yes" with a side of "'Annoyed' isn't nearly strong enough you gits now get out!"

I'll take the fact that they're shutting us down as an official "YES".

To be fair though, when the negativity is overwhelming as it often is here, it becomes the norm and we feed into each other with negativity and even if most people try to be rational about it, BioWare is probably right to some extent to let this go. I genuinely wonder how bad the ME3 controversy would've been if not for this place to blow it more out of proportion than it already was. People have seen terrible endings before, but only a dedicate forum like this would get these thesis like writeups and documentations of it.

It's the same with Witcher 3 except that board isn't quite as popular due to when it was formed. Most people loved that game universally and barely anyone noticed the quality of the storytelling falls off a cliff in the finale when you look at impressions anywhere but a few select comments or articles but especially the CDPR board had strong support for the "How to fix the third act" topics.

I do wonder what it'll be like if ME:A turns out to be bad though, now that there will be no BSN to stir up the pot.

And now I'm just wonder if madness of this place will dissolve or just infect the rest of fan sites.

Oh well, it was fun sometimes, gonna miss some of you, guys.

It'll probably calm down towards the end when everyone accepts their fate. We're at the shop looting stage right now.

I think it's clear to see that they are and that BioWare itself is in trouble. Part of my mind (that isn't in deep denial about warning signs) even wouldn't be surprised if ME:A was cancelled.

At this stage of development, I rather doubt it'll be cancelled.

Though it's probably not out of the question that it's the last one depending on how well it does.

Was never gonna mention the ending on this forum because people are sick of hearing of it. But they're closing so why not.

I can understand why Bioware may be annoyed, did people seriously find the ending that bad? May of not been great but no different from any other AAA games, mediocre at the worst. What were people expecting? Some cheesy, Disney style ending where Shepard is brought beck to life (again), gets married, has alien babies and lives in a big house with all his friends? I even liked the original ending they left open so that they could have more freedom in future instalments.

At this point I don't care what BW thinks. If it is treats the forum as red numbers on their balance sheet, then I don't have to cut them any slack. I already knew that BW is just a trademark of EA, but closing these forums makes it painfully obvious.

As EDI would put it: "And just like that, the magic is gone."

I know you are right, it's extreme to cancel it now. But they are being very odd about the game, and I can't ignore the feeling it's not nearly as done as they are telling us, that they will delay the game again, and then cancel it. Accept the losses and end BW. I don't know, could be just that BW/EA have been more shady than usual, because the game is a mess.

LOL don't worry, luv. How long do you think the SWTOR section will last? The most rabid of spammers/trolls will invade that section and turn it into a wasteland within the hour of this place shutting down. Bioware will have no choice BUT to nuke it as well.

PSA : Only $15 to troll the paid-to-post section. Come come.

Yesterday, I spend under 2mill to buy two packs and got trash and some deco. Thankfully, I'm a pre-nerf heroic ho and have a lot of millions to spare.

Depending on how it's received, this could definatly be the last ME game. :( :( :(
