Probably. I would be, and I think we've seen not so subtle signs of Biower going "wow, really?"
case in point
To be fair, I think people were wondering what it tasted like ![]()

People? You mean there's more than one? ![]()
Unconscionable what EA/Bioware did to you last gen console types with DAI.See, being a fan doesn't always mean "I agree with them". In fact, it especially doesn't mean that. The term "fairweather fan" has been a thing for longer than most of us have been alive. It's like that one guy that's a fan of a sports team that hasn't been good in decades, but they're still fans.
As far as civility goes, it's just not going to happen. It doesn't in real life. It doesn't online. Is that a bad thing? Probably. But life doesn't handle like the hugbox that Tumblr and the like try to enforce. If you pay $60 for something, and you've spent God knows how many hours on the previous games, and you have an "ending" that's pretty much "wait for the DLC!" you're probably going to be a tiny bit livid.
I wouldn't know, though. I didn't buy ME3 at launch, and only played it after the EC had released. I found those endings lacking, though not horrible. They just weren't good. If you really want to handle an ending in an RPG, take a cue from the first two Fallout games, or even from Bioware's own DAO.
I like a lot of what ME3 did, but I do think the writing was pretty questionable. DA2 may have received a lobotomy compared to Origins, but I like a lot of what that tried to do, as well. Parts of Act 2 and the Legacy DLC are about as good as Dragon Age gets. I even like part of what DAI tried to do, even if that was dumbed-down compared to an already dumbed-down DA2.
I did, however, have the misfortune to buy the 360 version of DAI, and Bioware flat out lied about that in everything leading up to launch. Most of us in the long (long, long, long, long) support thread for the last-gen versions were pretty damned civil, especially in the face of the game we received. What did we get? Basically nothing. Bio reps posted a few times, but 90% of them boiled down to "We're looking into it" form letters, and nothing even remotely addressing concerns.
Trust is a two-way street, and there's not much of that coming from the other way lately.
Citadel Party, quiet version, third stage. When does that line show up?

Hm...doubt it.
It's a great way of keeping a tab on the fans' pulse.
Don't count on it. 1) We've already established that the vast majority of players of Bioware gamers don't come here and many that do don't post or participate in the discussions to any great extent; so I'm not as convinced that keeping tabs on what forum participants say is as truly indicative of the "pulse" of the fan base as I once believed. 2) Various ways that marketers have kept tabs on the mood of the buying public have changed drastically over the years (as different technologies have become available)... so just because forums are serving a purpose today, doesn't mean they won't be really obsolete tomorrow anyways.
Thundertactic's infamous post actually asked(and answered, in meticulous detail) both.To be fair, I think people were wondering what it tasted like

I agree they might take some information from here, but it would be more of "the people on BSN feel this way" and compare it to "people on Reddit feel this way". The information I bet they put more emphasis on is the metrics that are sent back from when people play the game for that is a pure statistical feedback on what people are doing in the games and what they aren't.
Things got kind of hairy here after the release of ME3 sure....okay the forums went nuclear.
A lot of bad and ugly stuff was said and done. It scared the relationship between the developers and the fans deeply, it really has never been the same here since. The closing of the off-topic though a few years later and yes in part due to the toxic nature it had spawned into in its later time however does show a shift in Bioware who once built a social community with its fan base and actively interacted with them inside and outside of the realm of Bioware games to now where only the realm of Bioware games are discussed and feedback from devs becomes ever more lacking; it can be construed as distancing themselves from the fan base. They had a reason to do so though, I mean I'm guilty myself I did and said some horrible things back then, things were crazy.
What is sad though is that advances in social media and information gathering technology have rendered the need for such an internet community of that type to exist anymore. A lot of the fans engaged in a scorched earth policy during that time and in the aftermath we were left with nothing.
But hey what do I know? I haven't been in here in 10 months.
How is everybody?

We're mostly just trying to romance anything that moves around here.
And a good number of things that don't move, as well.

Put 2 and 2 together. Perhaps someone should romance people who work at Bioware.
Maybe then things will change.
Constant whining from people when they aren't catered too, nitpicking. Having to deal with people and fetishes when they desire them in their games, and of course my camp who won't let them live the endings down. Yeah I suppose I'd be annoyed to. At one point they just got fed up with us. understandable, but yeah I wouldn't want to be around people who did nothing but bash and belittle you or hear the constant whining. Thus they only ever respond on Twitter.
But... Whining is FREE folks!

You are correct, but there was a constant decline here on the boards from official posts after Dragon Age: Origins was released and the complaints it wasn't enough like Baldur's Gate started and it only got worse from there. I do agree that Mass Effect 3 was the final straw for several reasons, but I believe it wasn't the BSN that ended a lot of communication it was the FTC complaint. The problem is that set a precedent of what the community was willing to do with something they didn't like and if a developer said something in what seems to be an official capacity and could be considered lawsuit worthy that could become costly for EA. In fact that might have even set policies for other developers as well in the development community for they cannot risk anything like that happening to them either.
As far as what you have missed in the last ten months.
1) Romancing anything and everything, but excluding romances that don't jive with a person's personal taste.
2) Features that are mandatory to be included from past BioWare games.
3) Features that should be included from other games.
4) Features that should be dropped from the game.
So you know... same old.
They're not the only ones we don't play well with.Ah, but it's inevitable. Narcissists don't work and play well with other narcissists.
FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!But... Whining is FREE folks!
This is business. If you are annoyed with your customer, so what? You still need to please them in order to remain in business.
It's a conspiracy. In DAI **** the hetero guys but give the ladies Cullen or the gay guys Dorian. Bioware is this because we hammered you back in 2012? Is that what this is about?
Sometimes i read a post and I think this has to be a joke because no one could be that [blank] but then i am reminded that Trump is a presidential candidate for the USA so obviously the world is filled with people that have no clue and live with a persecution complex.
The forum here is toxic and overflowing with trolls and nitpickers over silly stuff, but it is not representative of the fanbase as a whole. The Mass Effect reddit for example is much friendlier with occasionally very interesting discussions. If I would judge only according BSN, I would say that Bioware hate the guts of the fans.

I think Reddit (despite the good idea behind the site) turns out to be more moderated than places like this. I rarely see much disagreement when I run into subreddits.

For the record it's mostly due to lack of moderation. Old BSN was much more like what you describe.
Now it takes three pages of some stupid clone threads for mods to start reacting, unless it has some isis-nazi child pornography.
I'm not even talking about common forum etiquette - "The issue of hair-romance is already being discussed here. This thread is now closed". Haven't seen this here for years.
I could definitely see some of the staff being a bit resentful or downright spiteful towards the community here. I remember before Mass Effect 3 released when the devs would even occasionally participate in thread discussions and encourage speculation in the forums. The DA team was always a lot better about that though, but I doubt even they'll be doing that much anymore seeing the forum response to their last game. To tell you the truth I can't really blame them. I know that I wouldn't be able to maintain my composure with some of you people.

I don't think that's the site as a whole's fault.
People started calling death threats.. It just takes things like that to spoil everything (and it went beyond the boards). Same with DA2.
Yeah... death threats are a bit... much.
