FIgured out how to enable the console commands. 

 

Switched teams and harassed with disruptor rounds and melee.  I was using the PPR, and as soon as I would fire, it would stop.  It would only burst in short succession.  I don't know if the PPR is just funny that way, or if something else was going on?  So I couldn't really tell if the offender had a million shields or if it was just never being able to get into the fat part of the PPR's beam?

 

If melee works I wonder if shadow strike/Electrical Hammer would do any damage?  

 

In the end, I wasn't able to harass much, but he did spend the majority of the game running and teleporting away from me... it was at least something different.

But I managed to troll a lobby-modder out of the game just now with the smash adept.  

 

And I thought I was done finding new stuff to do in this game.

It's crazy to see what kind of cheats are people running about. That's just stupid, really. I've never seen any of those but that's because I always host my games. Those people are really bad, and should feel bad. And believe me I hate them even more than you do, because when I want to do a modded lobby, than everyone looks at me like I'm one of those guys.

 

Question: if running into cheated games happens often, why not host a game yourself? Oh right, I know, because then you will have to wait for people for eternity, instead of conveniently finding a game in moments. It's why modders sometime have to resort to public. But if you really have such a big problem with any mod in general, than you better start hosting your own, just like others do, and you will completely avoid all the cheater trash.

 

Also: you may want to add me on your list too, as I often open a spot or two for public when there's not enough friends to join. However, we are playing the challenging platinum mod, which I've spent days, weeks designing it and it's an ongoing process. It is harder than vanilla, but with good players it's doable and so much more fun. Yes, there are actually legit players using mods to make the game more challenging. I know, the shock!

 

Hell, I'll even go as far to invite you to stay for a few games and see how you like it. No cheats in my lobbies, just a really fun challenge. And I don't warn either, because it takes a long time to fill up the lobby and too long to explain that we are not using cheats and it's simply "a different, more crazy platinum" and you better be ready for it. Most good players can pull it off without a problem, but if they're bad well we try to carry but it's pretty common that we fail if people start leaving. I didn't see good players leave midgame tough, they pull it off to the end and those are some of the best moments. Sometimes when we fail I think "damn, I made this way too hard, this is just ridicolous". Then we get a really good group going that knows what's it doing and then I'm like "damn, this is too easy. Perhaps I should make it a bit harder (again!)". 

 

If the game still had a big population playing u/u/p, I would always warn and politely ask, but with the way that it is sometimes waiting up for 5 minutes to get just 1 person into the lobby, you just have to go with it or don't play at all. 

 

At this point I would only apologize if I ever ruined your expected "casual" platinum game. Even tough it is no form of cheating, any my teammates often run out of ammo and no we do not mod ammo boxes you have to deal with it, I understand some people just want to play chill gold or platinum game sometime, but then they have to fight trough a damn apocalypse.

I would say I wind up doing about 20/80 hosts vs non-hosts.

 

I do prefer to play off-host though, as you mention it's usually just quicker.  After playing near 5K games, ME3 has become like a windows solitaire game to me, usually when I have about 25-30 min to spare, I'll hop in a UUP, then go away and play again hours later.  I never really 'sit-down' with the intention of playing it for hours like I would other games I play.

 

THe other reason hosting kinda sucks, is the phantom DR thing. Kinda sucks playing most weapons platforms with that DR in place.

It's when you host the phantom has more DR for the host. Or something like that. I think they flip a lot more.

They take a lot less damage if you host, especially for hit scan weapons, a cloaked shot with a Mantis/SI easily one shots them with a head shot off host on Gold but barely takes half of their barriers on host, it's a dumb mechanic that Biovar should have fixed early on.

Oh, that probably explains why it seemed like my friend was so much better at sniping Phantoms than me, since I was always hosting.

Funny thing is that NEVER bothered me!!!  Until someone told me about it... then all of a sudden I was mortified and began to act as if I found out I was paying double the taxes on something than I should be

It's working as intended. Since single player Phantoms also act like on host Phantoms.

Insanity clone is pretty tough. Not much else. Dat critical hit slowdown.

on host phantoms .. Falconacolyte them away with some good incendiary to hear them slowly die in pain , only then do you feel there is some justice in this imaginary world .

If someone manages to mod the SP campaign into ME3MP - Andro ... andro ... this thing where the c.....s run - is in bad shape. We finally could "Win the War" something the "beware cheaters" did not allow ... then SP* would not be so boring anymore.

Oh, for reference: In the first play - the game glitched at the portal entry. Still alive in an empty level, I got myself a coffee and enjoyed "Total Victory" over the "B-ware Reapers" !

Imagine if the Reapers had used Mods. we would all have been f****d !!

Seriously though its very frustrating. lately i have been in UUS and UUG pugs with players that have lvl 1 weapons, no mods and no consumables. They are downing stuff faster than i am with 3000 hours, full manifest and lvl 3 And 4 consumables. and i am like WTF? but I just move on and I host even though it means soloing a lot because my connection is so laggy at times with frquent disconnects.

while ever there is online gaming there will be cheating it will never be fully eradicated.

The reason why I don't do this is because I have a pretty laggy connection and I actually care whether or not the game is enjoyable for my guests.

 

Yesterday I was searching for an UUP game and got thrown into this guy's lobby 3 consecutive times, seeing different players each time. People get thrown in, and quit as soon as they see what's going on. Then others follow and do the same. 

 

So please, have some decency and tell your fellow players in the lobby that you've modded the game, or play with friends, or play solo.
