Can someone explain to me how the whole Decoy thing works ?

 

Here is the description of the ability (its the same both in Awakening and in II):- The shadow is a master of misdirection, creating a personal decoy that keeps enemies occupied for a short time while the rogue escapes in stealth.

 

The description implies that a Shadow Rogue actually creates a Decoy. I am curious to how this works because I do not think that Thedas has access to hologram technology.

 

Or is Decoy just a game mechanic like the Fallback Plan ability in Inquisition or summoning a Blight Wolf / Bereskarn / Giant Spider out of nowhere in Origins ?

When this ability is used a (very blue-hued) simulacrum of the user appears near the spot used, and stays there.  Enemies who were targeting the user now target the decoy, and the user is free to move away and take other actions.

Oh yes.  Kate Walker is my ab fab héro(ïne).  FemShep is a close second. 

Currently on my fourth-or-fifth complete ME-series playthrough.

 

But I'd pay double to be able to play more of Kate.
