That's the question that really matters, because we are the ones putting food on the table for Bioware. Not the other way around. They literally cannot afford to alienate us......because without "us" there is no Bioware.
Andromeda needs to be miles above the original trilogy in terms of content fidelity. It's also a brand new chapter in more ways than one.
On the technical side of things, ME1 might've been a cumbersome little mess but it left a significant lasting impression on the majority of players, that's why the sequels sold as much as they did. If ME1 was trash and was shunned by players, there might not have been a ME2/3.
Now they're REALLY trying to convince us to basically forget the original trilogy because its events don't matter anymore where Andromeda is concerned. They're in fact putting more pressure on themselves than we are on them, because to completely overshadow the trilogy in that way, they'll have to pay close attention to feedback pertaining to what was done wrong in the first place.
How much exploration sucked in ME1 and how it was non-existent in the sequels, the steadily-worsening dialogue as we went from ME1 to 2 and 3, the embarrassingly high number of bugs plaguing ME3's Campaign mode (the only mode that really matters)......I can go on like this all day. All those examples just scream laziness.
Andromeda needs to be "da bomb" and NOT bomb.
