HI people of the MEA stuff. First post, hopefully don't get a lot of hate for my suggestion. But I would really like to see a CC like DA;I but a little more in-depth in terms of also helping w/ body slider and height sliders? As a queer-identifying person, while i love the whole "super soldier" thing, I was hoping maybe we can see something a little different? Like I said, being a queer-identifying person, I really love the idea of maybe MEA having sliders for the protag to give them different aspects? Like the males can have more "feminine" aspects and the females can have more "manly" aspects, even change the rolls of things, like the way they walk and such.

I take inspiration from this from DA with the races, like how the human males were very lean, human females were also lean, but then you go onto the elves, like the male elves were rather small and graceful along with the females and then you go onto dwarves who were stocky in both male and female. So I was hoping we could see something like this again except the all human version. Like you can go from stocky to lean, lithe, etc. I feel like it would give people a lot more customization on how they want to design their character instead of having just the default. "Lean body soldier".

Like, ex: Males having a Kasumi like body structure and such. I really loved the way Kasumi moved cause it seemed very fluid to me, her flips, kicks, body and things were really graceful and I would love it we could see that for the protag. Plus, I would like to see representation of people like me who identify as queer as i'm a rather small person and i find it funny the thought of having such a thing.

I hope my suggestion won't be too disliked too much ;;

Human Males need to be built like tanks. 8 pack abs, muscular like Cullen or Dorian but flexible at the same time. Maybe like Bruce Lee. Females should be built like the female qunari. That is the perfect build for a female protagonist. But they aren't doing that. That would be bioware's first mistake with this game. Even if the see this they probably not gonna do anything about it. My male Ryder is gonna have an 8 pack and be shredded but have a very high amount of Muscular strength and endurance. A hero who can match a Krogan. But yeah being able to choose body types are cool. The male being more feminine and female being more masculine? Yeah I don't think so. Male Hero has to be muscular and plus the voice..........yeah. Female being masculine. Some are but I'm not sure how these are going to fit into the game with all these different variables. Nothing wrong with an LI being like that. The way they walk and do things. If you have choices sure but people most likely will take issue cause they are........ well....... people. Also how come you say queer identifying? You could just say you're gay. We are all friends here. Nothing wrong with that. No one is gonna judge you, at least I won't. You are who you are.

I don't know how flexible sliders can be... but I think it would be hillariously fun to try to stay in cover with a Ryder shaped like a volus.  I'm game.

I am all for body customization. While I think sliders wouldn't really happen, I can see them offering a few presets.

Well, I'd be all for it--I've wanted some at least basic options for body-type variations since Mass Effect 1. I get why they'd generally prefer to avoid substantial height variation - I'm given to understand, from having read up on DA: I's development, that it can make cutscene framing a right pain in the arse - but the rest should at least be on the table--even if I, personally, would just be happy with a Ryder who didn't have Shepard's noodle arms.

Honestly, I suspect we're much more likely to get a few presets - maybe three or four; think of them as replacing the race options from DA - rather than proper sliders, but even that'd still be a massive step-up.

I hadn't actually considered the idea of different animation profiles, as you suggest--that actually sounds super cool. Like, if you're roleplaying an agile, stealthy character, you could have her move more like Thane or Kasumi than, say, Shepard's usual rough-and-tumble soldier stride. It could potentially be tied to class - like, say, Infiltrators get the agile sneaky stuff, while Vanguards throw themselves around like Krogan - but I think it'd probably be better to keep it separate, since it'd give the player a wider range of choices/open up more roleplaying possibilities.

Only Kasumi is worthy of the perfection that is her body.

but as nice as a body type slider would be, I don't really see it happening. Even DA:I wasn't going to have race selection until it was delayed for a full year.

Why does your identity matter again? Also, it's far easier to design characters around a single body type and put them in armor, clothes, animations than making various body types.

If fallout 4 did it(to a degree), I don't see why Bioware can't either.  Even if I don't play women in most games, I'm still sick of seeing someone have noodle arms.  I'd like the see muscular women too, or just different types of bodies.  I'd also like to have a lithe guy option as well, that'd be great.

Same. I mean, BioWare's been doing it pretty much forever, but I've never liked it, and it's only getting more noticeable as other RPGs - Fallout 4's a recent example - start to offer more body variation, both for the PC and NPCs.

The cutscenes would be a problem with more body types and also more animation. I would rather prefer they fix females animations for cutscenes.

I would definitely support complete body type customization.  Though Bioware would have to tread carefully since some might scream that it allows for over sexualisation of people.

I guess it would make sense in MEA that everyone had pretty fit bodies, wouldn't you want the few people going to Andromeda to be the best examples of Humanity?

Plus I'm a bit out of the loop with the queer thing, what's that got to do with body shapes?

It would make armors and casual outfits look worse(lower res, less detailed) and take longer to program because each one would have to accommodate every combination of height and build. Three or four body presets per gender would be a more realistic option but even that seems unlikely since BioWare has never done that.

Not even Saint's row has that (a gender slider). I feel like it would make Mass Effect be taken less seriously if you had a funny character (no offence to anyone I hope). Saint's row 1 had a gender slider, but they took it out because they said it was way too controversial. Not sure if they were joking about that tho XD

That's arguable. Miranda and Aria were spectacular.

What's the issue?

Edit: Dang! Ok, better image with a sexy krogan lady (that BioWer burka'd):

Miranda has bigger features and some are taller than others when in game they are the same height.

It only seems like Miranda is curvier than that because she was still a novelty in ME2, but by ME3 even Ashley had a bigger butt and bigger knockers. You just think she's curvier because of faulty memory. And some of the women aren't the same height. Jack is slightly shorter than average while Samara and Tali are taller.

The only one who could possibly beat Kasumi is Tracer from Overwatch, but she's not a BioWare character.
