They should at least get rid of noodle arms. Shep was like this:

Ryder should be more like this:

We need a fast food, exercise, and weigh lifting part of the game.

More in depth customization and also good story elements like how shallow people are and how they react to you.  If your PC looks like a volus they could give you devastating body attacks as well.

It only seems like Miranda is curvier than that because she was still a novelty in ME2, but by ME3 even Ashley had a bigger butt a and bigger knockers. You just think she's curvier because of faulty memory. And some of the women aren't the same height. Jack is slightly shorter than average while Samara and Tali are taller.

Are you serious? I would start an argument but I'm tired and I'm all out of ***** to give. I'll just leave you with your ignorance.

It's nice to see people agreed with me in terms of body suggestions cause I feel it adds more immersion and greater options.

Like sliders, It was a suggestion but as I aforementioned, or well I think lol, I mentioned the DA system of the bodies of elves and humans and stuff, so body presets would have been good. Sliders were an option but I could see the problem having them.

As for others, I mentioned my identity as a way of giving an example of representation. In terms of Shepard, when you play him you feel like a powerful man cause of how built is he and how masculine he is, I mentioned it cause I think it would be funny and great to see a smol man running the expedition of Andromeda or a large woman running it rather than just a lean fe/male instead of variety. While I think a few won't understand it or get confused, yea.

I would still love to see different animations for both the genders like the females can have more masculine animations and vice versa. I just find it really appealing to me, mostly cause I would love to have a character move like Kasumi, very fluid and graceful cause I just found it very aesthetically appealing to me.

Well, I'd be all for it--I've wanted some at least basic options for body-type variations since Mass Effect 1. I get why they'd generally prefer to avoid substantial height variation - I'm given to understand, from having read up on DA: I's development, that it can make cutscene framing a right pain in the arse - but the rest should at least be on the table--even if I, personally, would just be happy with a Ryder who didn't have Shepard's noodle arms.

Honestly, I suspect we're much more likely to get a few presets - maybe three or four; think of them as replacing the race options from DA - rather than proper sliders, but even that'd still be a massive step-up.

I hadn't actually considered the idea of different animation profiles, as you suggest--that actually sounds super cool. Like, if you're roleplaying an agile, stealthy character, you could have her move more like Thane or Kasumi than, say, Shepard's usual rough-and-tumble soldier stride. It could potentially be tied to class - like, say, Infiltrators get the agile sneaky stuff, while Vanguards throw themselves around like Krogan - but I think it'd probably be better to keep it separate, since it'd give the player a wider range of choices/open up more roleplaying possibilities.

bless you.

If fallout 4 did it(to a degree), I don't see why Bioware can't either.  Even if I don't play women in most games, I'm still sick of seeing someone have noodle arms.  I'd like the see muscular women too, or just different types of bodies.  I'd also like to have a lithe guy option as well, that'd be great.

I actually forgot Fallout did it for F4 so yea that could be a thing but I wouldn't count on it. Personally, i think after thinking about it, the body presets would have to be my personal favorite.

But this all goes down to personal preference in the end of things. Im really glad this got a conversation going. ; u ;

I'm all for body customization. Weight and muscles sliders should definitely be in there, I'm not asking for Ryder to be a giant pudding or stick thin, but variety in muscle tone and thickness would be amazing.

For example, I always think biotics would be very lean, because using biotic abilities burns a ton of calories. Where as a solider class would be heavily build due to all the weapons and physical training they require.

I'd also love for body customization to include tattoos, body hair, freckles, scars etc.

This is the sort of thing that's nice to have, but I don't see as crucial.

Especially since different protagonist sizes can mess up animations and cut-scenes to a ludicrous degree.

If anything, the protagonist should be more or less set, and the variety in body sizes and shapes should be for NPCs, probably easier to do damage control to animations this way.

Don't think it's realistic. Qunari took ages to add. All species did. Originally Iron Bull was meant to be 'not into dwarves' because the animation took too much effort. One guy made them in his spare time. He said if he had known before how much work it was going to be, he wouldn't have done it. Bioware is known to be cheap in the animation department. Even putting the N7 Hoodie on will create clipping issues in ME3.

As long as they have an athletic body I guess it doesn't matter if they're lean or bulky. Being chubby or obese wouldn't make much sense unless you're in a non combat role, which we aren't.

Is it just me or is EDI shorter than Eva? Or is it just because Eva has a "human suit"?

You're demonstrably wrong. You can compare the models right here in this thread. Cocky and wrong is no way to go through life, kiddo.

HI people of the MEA stuff. First post, hopefully don't get a lot of hate for my suggestion. But I would really like to see a CC like DA;I but a little more in-depth in terms of also helping w/ body slider and height sliders? As a queer-identifying person, while i love the whole "super soldier" thing, I was hoping maybe we can see something a little different? Like I said, being a queer-identifying person, I really love the idea of maybe MEA having sliders for the protag to give them different aspects? Like the males can have more "feminine" aspects and the females can have more "manly" aspects, even change the rolls of things, like the way they walk and such.

There are logistical challenges to that, mostly regarding mocap and skeletons.  Theoretically, all that is possible, it'd just be very difficult to implement.

To me, that's always going to be an argument against cutscenes rather than an argument against height sliders.

I could see that, but Mass Effect kicked off the whole, 'cinematic RPG' phenomena, so I doubt it'll be dumping cutscenes anytime soon.

I would like to see a modern BioWare RPG in the old style - there's clearly a market, as the success of PoE, Divinity, Wasteland 2, and the excitement for Torment: Tides of Numenara, demonstrates - and if that RPG were set in the Mass Effect universe, then so much the better... But ME: A's clearly not gonna be that game.

But you would be wrong. Because the facts are the facts. I can see the models right here in this very thread. I can see that ME3 Ashley has a bigger butt and breasts than ME2 Miranda.

Yeah that makes perfect sense, an expedition for the survival of the milky way species led by an obese explorer/soldier.

Also what the hell is smol? Is that Tumblr speak?

Not likely to happen for the simple reason that they work with a limited number of skeletal rigs for all the characters and such customization is beyond the resources allowed for such a huge project. I would rather they focus on less customization and better animation, personally.
