The only role playing games I played before dragon age origins were Oblivion and Skyrim, and instead of studying the game first and paying attention to the tutorials, I just plunged in not knowing how deep the water could be. I mean I played on easy. How can you not make it till the end? Well, my PC died countless times and never could get past Loghain. At this point, I really wanted my money back.
I wouldn't even have gone that far without all the health potions that the warden and his team were drowning in. Below are the examples of my numerous failings.
I raised magic attributes of my S&S warrior, thinking at some point, if magic score is high enough, the warden will be able to throw magic about.
I had no idea what the tactics were for. Everyone was playing with the preset tactics they have when they joined the team. So well, I sold all the lyrium potions, I mean the mages never ran out of mana.
I gave Zevran a shield until I realized he couldn't use any of his talents.
Didn't realize Sten needed to be given armor and weapon so he was fighting with bare hands. Then when it finally occurred to me he needed to be given armor and weapon, I gave him a longsword and shield.
If one of the team members were down, I reloaded the scene because I thought they were gone for good like in Skyrim.
Do you have any memorable blunder during your first play-through?
