I don't write on forums much but this question has been plaguing my head lately.

 

I just started a new playthrough of DAI and am a Dalish Elf two handed warrior which by the way I am now convinced more fun than playing sword and shield. I have a very Jon Snow feel with my character with even finding a hairstyle as close to what he is currently portrayed from the Game of Thrones at end of Season 6.

 

Which leaves me to my problem. I'm trying decide between the two sword types of the topic. Everyone keeps saying how the Chromatic Greatsword is the best greatsword now but I did have my heart on the Sulevin Blade sword.

 

Any opinions or advice would be most welcome. And if I posted this in the wrong forum I apologize.

I think if you are playing on normal or without trials it isn't such a big deal.  But the Chromatic Greatsword has more leather offense slots and 2H warrior passive to reduce cooldowns heavily relies on critical chance.  But ignoring that, the Chromatic sword will still do more damage because it does physical AND elemental damage.  Next best to the Chromatic weapons would be Dragonslayer 2H axe schematic because you can upgrade it.

 

Honestly though, just play with the Sulevin and enjoy the game.  If it's too hard, you can lower difficulty.

Totally up to your play style but chromatic weapons are the best but for me my favorite to this day is the trials reward Edgewise

Chance on hit: taunt all enemies within 8 meters for 4 seconds Empty Rune Warrior only
Level 19 Possible random trials reward.
Note: Requires Trespasser DLC.

It def isn't the most damaging GS but I think it looks bloody amazing and taunts which kinda frees up an ability slot for more damaging stuff

I guess in my head playing an Elf finding a badass weapon from ancient elven times is something to get excited about. But I love the design of the Sulevin Blade though.

Although I have to admit the magical energy blade of the sword does look awesome.
