With this logic, why advertise your games at all?

Huh?

I'm suggesting it could be better to advertise at a different time than the specific window everyone is advertising. Then their release dump will be front and center of most gaming news sites, rather than drowned out by the barrage of the major gaming conferences.

There will be a glimpse of Asari chest hair on N7 day, that's for sure.

Even before asari beard and mustache? Isn't it too early right now?

It's called a "décolleté". And it'd be easy to spot there for a keen and schooled eye.

I am hoping (yea...I know...I am one of those idiots who live in disappointed anticipation) that they will begin to feed us information at PAX. N7 day is cool and all, but if they wait until then, they will miss all the cons...which from a marketing/hype standpoint, just makes no sense. But...what makes sense these days?

Ugg..

Your opinion makes sense to me OP.  Is bioware/EA looking for marketing hires?

The logic behind N7 day reveal is inescapable (and a lucky coincidence):

  • Oct 21 - Battlefield 1 release
  • Oct 28 - Titanfall 2 release

With those launches done, when's the next convenient marketing release day?

  • Nov 7 - Mass Effect Andromeda

Simple...

Does Bioware / EA really want to have their Andromeda reveal on N7 day?  That's one day before the presidential election.

Not really going to get much attention.

At least it'll give something for the adults to look forward to after the long lines at the polls (assuming they didn't just mail in their votes).

November 8th is clearly the superior choice.

But seriously though, in all the noise of E3 there's a lot of competition for headlines. Isn't it better to have a day to yourself?

When you have a game with this following, it will blow the competition out of the water. Most other games wouldn't get attention (which is why EA won't let them show mass effect until Titanfall comes out)

So, why show it to your fans instead of expanding? Most interested in gaming will see E3 trailers.
They won't Google mass effect andromeda every day, or know to look for it on November 7th.

I don't think Mass Effect blows most other games' followings out of the water.

They don't have to Google every day or know about Nov 7. They'll see it on the front page of IGN, GameInformer, Gamespot, etc. Depending on their search history, it'll show up on their Facebook newsfeed, on the YouTube and Amazon homepages.

I must confess, I didn't even know N7 day existed until I heard about it on bsn, and I never understood what was so special about N7. I mean in the game you spend 1 mission as N7, then you are a Spectre.

So I never understood some peoples obsession with N7. And in extension the N7 day.

N7 is basically the highest honor. It's very difficult to achieve and anyone who does is allowed to wear the crest, it means you passed through Interplanetary training school for the best humans.

You are N7 the entire game, but a spectre as well.

I honestly thought it was pretty huge, it seemed to win so many "best game" or "most anticipated" game awards that I guess I mistook a loyal following for a large one.

The point is is that E3 gets so many more hits because everyone knows interesting stuff is coming out then.

Maybe because they want to surprise us and it's N7 day.
