No, people like Meredith and Alrik make the templars look bad.

The templars in Ferelden's circle came across as decent sorts who were just as interested in protecting the mages as they were in protecting mundanes from magic.

By DAI, templars were using red lyrium and slaughtering anyone who remotely looked like they might help a rebel mage.

The Venatori came across like any other opportunistic antagonist group. Consider the qunari in Trespasser: the primary difference is that they used gaatlok and swords instead of magic.

There's nothing disingenuous about it. It's just one person's assessment.

I find your assessment disingenuous because it Meredith's sympathetic character and the fact that see was corrupted by a outside force, as well as the fact that Alaric is one bad Templar compared to a sea of bad mages. It also forgets that the Inquisition Templars were tricked into taking Red Lyrium, which makes them victims of a mage (Corypheus). The Venatori are still a cult of evil mages willingly serving another evil mage they believe is their new God. The Red Templars, on the other hand, are mostly brainwashed victims with the exception of Samson.

While t may be your opinion that the Mage -Templar portrayals are entirely black and white, they truthfully haven't been.

"So lame" is killing innocent people and blew up chantries because you can't adapt to the world.

Now that I'm thinking about it, there is a lot in common between mages and feminist, both groups blame other people (templars/men) because they aren't intelligent enough to get what they want in their worlds.

So if a blood Mage whores themselves out to a noble, they should be able to do whatever they want? Wut

That is quite a leap in logic.Viviene ain't blood mage and blood magic is illegal so it is hardly playing by rules.

If you consider marriage "whoring" sure, but that is not an exception for mages.

What? Are you kidding? Vivienne didn't get married.

You know that marriages are used in order to increase social postion, power and wealth? Viviene did the same thing just less formally by starting relationship with a noble.

Except she outright says she's a mistress . Mistress is not marriage

Almost no difference here outside as i said it being less formal, she used it to improve her social position, wealth and power.

Doesn't matter, she still used someone to gain power.

I am sure people would appreciate it when mages begin to throw themselves at nobles in order to "adapt". Everyone would love mages and all. It'd be all dandy.

If using people gets you out of the circle, I don't see the problem there, they win their own freedom.

So? Same rule applies to everyone (with some exceptions) in order to obtain power not only mages.Marriages for power are norm among nobility.

You don't really have moral values do you? Not everyone likes using people. Some people may think it's immoral.

So if I'm a blood Mage and ****** myself out to a noble, I deserve freedom?

Well, it seems he started relationship and it looks like she cared about him somewhat. So it could be mutual.

Didn't i already refute this argument? I guess Echo-Chamber may be fun sometimes.

It's funny how someone who hasn't actually studied the lore of the series feels like lecturing others on how they don't know the lore

It's fine with me if you disagree with my assessment. Call it biased, unbalanced, or flat-out wrong, but your insistence on calling it disingenuous tells me that you don't know what that word means.

You say it as if you born a blood mage, or you can't stop being a blood mage. You don't deserve freedom since you are not following the rules, freedom is a bit strong word anyway.

I am ridiculous? I am not the one claiming to have better moral values, perhaps you should ask yourself how good you are. Believing you are a better person than me when you are not giving money to the poor people is very hypocrite.

Beside the fact everyone here talks about freedom and how you can't be free if you are forced into the circle, but all of you spent the whole day in the PC, so I don't see how free all of you are.

Meredith took the idol willingly, because she wanted more power. She begin risky to playing with a dangerous unknown force, similar than the mages, when they deal with demons. How much better Meredith, than the abominations? (In the end she too became one uncontrollable monster, an abomination)

Poor Templars really that stupid, only Samson was evil?

Because using someone for your own end is moral, yes? You just claimed that mages would be better off if they used nobles to adapt, and now you say this. You are inconsistent.

You are right, I am a bad bad girl and I need to be punished, but you are not better than I my dear.

When you are evil, doing less is doing more. Look at yourself ♥

It's funny how you try to talk like Vivienne though. No wonder you have the same ideas with her. Do you idolize her?
