Are you insane?

 

How are people supposed to give you bug reports? On Facebook? On Twitter? What about all the legacy content that was activated through BSN (the DA promotional items, the ME bonus DLCs)? Where are they supposed to go to ask for technical support? And don't tell me "call EA's hotline" - they just barely know what they're doing with the corporation as a whole on a good day. Try getting specialized support for an older title and let me know how that goes for you.

 

You really have no idea what you're doing, do you? I was here since before ME2 came out, and I'm shocked and disheartened with how little you care about your community. I won't be surprised if the Edmonton office folds after this.

Also VSN seems like it's been around a long time, along with TSG, and both of them are more general-gaming forums, not "new BSN's."

I'm aware of two new BSN's: Cyonan's, and Cassandra Saturn's. Is there another one I am missing?

Fextralife seems to be the other BSN successor site being floated.

I haven't been to Fextralife, so I won't comment on that forum, but Cyonan has been a long time member of TSG, as well as a pillar of the MP community on BSN, so I wholly support people going to http://bsn.boards.net/ for a community that emulates the current BSN.

Yeah, because I put up with a lot of his/her antics, way more than I should have. One would prefer one who let them get away with something (let alone a lot of somethings) as opposed to someone who does not. The cousin scam was when he/she went way over the line, by the way.  

 

I care about more than VSN, I care about BSN because that's where I come from and I've met and bonded with a lot of fine people here. I don't want them to end up separated and alone, without friends or a place to discuss, because of a hasty button press. I see, well, hopefully you are correct, but my magic 8-ball  eyes and brain say, "outlook not so good".

Time you're wasting fussing over Cassandra is time not spent actively recruiting. Oh is this because some of those have joined Cassandra's site instead? Many people have no qualms about being a member of multiple boards, so what's the problem?

 

If Cassandra goes spastic and shuts down, they can migrate over to yours if they haven't already. Signing up takes under 30 seconds. 3 weeks away from BSN decontamination. Get cracking, Vroom. And put your VSN replacement on a short, tight leash because he's embarrassing.

Point is, I don't give a toss about what happened back then. I wasn't there. I only focus on people's current conduct. So far so good. Cassandra works hard and the site is growing more by the day. If something happens in the future, I'll deal with it then.

For the most part, all of the substitutes offer different things and it is very important to note that all members of BSN came to BSN for different reasons, therefore each of those forums may have something that is better fitting for them. Can they tho? What if it gets deleted after BSN does, then how will they find any of the other forums? Google does not give reliable results for any of the forums, so... As a reminder to lurkers and active posters wondering about the current state of fan-run forums, there is a thread that lists all the current splinters that have sprung up with news of our impending doom. See here

Some have existed for months or years and some have been created within the last couple days, but it seems many people have jumped ship and/or signed up for multiple forums to see which one(s) are going to migrate information and be moderated the best.

Any new forum should have a chatbox tbh. When Priestly banned IT discussion and we made our own forum, we had a chatbox, and it really brought the community closer together. I barely even care about Mass Effect anymore, but I still visit the forum everyday for the chatbox.

Most of the splinters sites do have a chat/shoutbox. We found that it helps to combat the lull of low energy posting during certain times if there's always something immediate you can respond to and talk about.
