Vroom i don't willingly turn over the reins of forum admin to someone that i don't know. it takes time to earn a trust, getting know me first before that. so you generally start out as moderator first.

But you hired a team of moderators that you don't even know? Anyway, I guess that's come and gone, the team does look somewhat solid, give or take a member or two. I just hope that you have learned from the past and will provide those people with a fun and loving forum which you are fully committed to and won't shut down when you get bored of it. I'll back off and leave you be, just don't lie to them and stop with the alt Korra account, okay?

I know what's going down here. This is the new Games of Thrones spinoff series, isn't it?

Different fanmade community sides battling for the Iron Biolulz Throne, sharing cyber assassins and cyber sex equally. With the amount of rule 34 stuff on the interwebs, we'd have the breasts and dicks part covered aswell. I'll give it 5 seasons, we could always have a sweet sweet Netflix deal aswell.

Your problem, not ours.

"I don't have a power fantasy that needs catering to"

How it is and how it looks are two completely different things. You still need that leash. Actually make that a shock collar.

The conversation is done, mate, because it's 5 AM and I'm going to bed. Just take a few steps back (but don't venture past primitive territory) when you analyze things as moderator and you'll be fine.

Nighty night  ^_^

Also I didn't accept this role of dictator to be called an "equal." Certainly not with goat and liam!

Grav, ok maybe.

Maybe he's the real dictator.

So this boils down to "We at BioWare dont personally use the forums much anymore, and have therefore decided no one else gets to either" eh?

I mean this in the absolute nicest way possible, but are you ****** retarded, BW? I havent seen a decision that is this out of touch with the fanbase in quite a long time.

Even with Konami, they actually explained their decision to get out of the digital game industry and focus more on physical facilities and pachinko machines in detail. It was still absurdly stupid and contradictory, but at least it was something. (And even then, their own internal financial documents and the general trend of pachinko machines in Japan proves they're full of it.)

This explanation barely holds muster. It's cutting off their nose to spite their faces. They'd give up a source of free ideas, bug reports and discussion so that people will gravitate to a handful of sites that are, at best, slowly dying (Twitter, Facebook) and are extremely toxic at worst (Tumblr). They have to know that they can't control the narrative on any of these sites, that is, if they even have a presence beyond vain self-promotion at this point.

The worst part is that they seem to think their fanbase are idiots. Don't be surprised if this is all just a precursor to EA shutting down Bioware entirely. Feels like ME:A is going to be a last gasp if they don't get their heads straight.

I'm not sure where the idea comes from that Vroom is trying to recruit more members.

I'm pretty sure that most of the people at  the VSN are actually fine with how it is right now.

I have admittedly PM'ed ten or so users that caught my eye, but beyond that and modifying my signature, you are correct XD

Okay, off to bed for real, maybe.

This.

And guides, and tips, and suggestions...

how could we find a valid information on Fb or twitter? There is no history neither.

This is a place of business where people are working. if you show up unannounced I am afraid we will have to turn you away.

i understand you are upset, but there are more constructive ways to communicate that.

Most (all?) businesses with an accessible office don't "turn you away" for simply walking up to the front desk and asking a question. Or is this that famous Bioware "everyone's against us" attitude flaring up again?

You yourself said, in the very first post of this thread, that you will "continue to seek out opportunities to interact and share in our combined love of games". If they can't ask you a question at your office, and they can't ask you a question on the official forum, where are they supposed to contact you?

I swear, the more I read through this thread, the dumber the "official" replies get. There are indie devs with 1/100th of the budget Bioware has (like TinyBuild or Touch Arcade) that can efficiently run a forum with a shoestring budget. This whole thing reeks of PR talk being passed down the line to you so you can relay it to people.

Really late to the.... erm, party?

I was really looking forward to jumping back on the BSN in the next couple of months and now I guess it's a no go. :(

I've met so many amazing people here, my cheeks have literally ached from all the smiling and laughing that came from being involved in some of these threads. I never cared that the devs weren't around, it was never important to me. Connecting with awesome people and being able to discuss the things that I love was important and that is what these forums provided.

I don't use social media. I have a messed up ex-boyfriend and there is just no way that I'm going to give him the opportunity to be able to contact me through any means such as Facebook and Twitter.

The BSN was the first social platform that I felt safe being on. Sure, there have been some moments, but it's nothing compared to the **** slinging that I've seen on tumblr and YouTube.

And I highly doubt that there will be any bioware panels making an appearance in NZ.....ever.

I guess I could ask nicely and hope that they change their minds and keep the BSN alive, but I doubt it will do any good. Just to be on the safe side, though...... Please reconsider, bioware! *gives sad puppy eyes*

People have been comparing the BSN closure to ME/A, but the more I think about it... this is DA2. BSN is the Circle and because of some blood mages/red lyrium "infectious toxicity" we are all getting ANNULLED

We actively follow and seek out what our players are saying, whether its here or on other websites, blogs, or social media. We also get the odd handwritten letter, and we read those too.

Closing these boards does not mean that stops, nor does it mean we expect you to give us 144 character reviews or feedback. We encourage all of our players to talk about our games in the way that best suits them and the discussion they are wanting to have. Sometimes that's on Twitter, sometimes that's via a blog, or Reddit, or community forum.

Except you don't. I've flitted in and out of this forum over the last couple years. It's been a graveyard from a dev participation standpoint. If there was any attempt at dev-to-fan communication, it was likely short-lived.

You have no idea how you're efficiently going to gauge fan feedback, and you're cutting off the central nexus for suggestions and feedback. If you wanted to change the perceived "toxic" perception, fix the damn boards. Go on site-wide ban sprees to get rid of unsavory elements. Relaunch the forum with an increased/heavy focus on Andromeda, and either kill or severely downplay the legacy boards. Make an open attempt at soliciting criticism instead of antagonizing people every time you post, or bring on mods who don't resort to kneejerk reactions every time they see a post they don't like.

After all the posts here telling you why/how Reddit, blogs and Twitter don't work for the type of feedback you've frankly needed a lot more of over the last few years, it's clear that you don't understand anything.

I find it amusing that your forum has the "NO TROLLING AT ALL RULE", yet you and your moderator(s) decide to go elsewhere for your trolling needs. Yes, passive aggressive forum postings are considered trolling.
