Why contain it? Let it spill out into the streets. People need to know.
By the way, have you guys seen the Glassdoor page for Bioware (http://www.glassdoor...iews-E22998.htm? What a hoot. Sounds like the place is circling the drain.
A choice review from an ex-employee:
And it's not the only one. All of the reviews posted over the last year say the exact same thing.
Why the actual ***** are they giving the reigns to the Dragon Age team when INQUISITION WAS A THOUSAND TIMES WORSE THAN MASS EFFECT 3?
To think that they believe Inquisition is moving in the right direction....oh, god. I can't begin to express my dismay and outrage .
Dragon Age Inquisition was so bad. Literally the worst. I can't.
I just can't.
Stop.

Porn was posted by a moderator from a certain forum and he was called out on it. Um... the conversation evolved into Ninja Turtles but those were deleted too, which leads Vroom to believe that the mods prefer Battletoads.

Well honestly gaming companies at large are known well I won't say sweat shop but crunch time until you almost drop dead , project going nowhere and all that jazz are just "normal".
It only looks glamorous from far far away.

Yes. You did that... and in your anger you killed the gaming industry.

Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO
I worked at BioWare full-time (More than 5 years)
Pros
Portions of the development teams do incredibly exciting things. Small portions of what made this company great still remain. If you get attached to one of these parts of the organization you will have an amazing experience.
A reasonable amount of free beer.
About the only option if you want to work somewhere exciting and live in Edmonton.
Cons
...the rest of the company is a bloated ineffective organization plagued by immature behaviors and a lack of big picture thinking. Personal agendas run wild, with the kind of backstabbing you'd expect from an all girls high school. People who try to assess/address/improve the situation are singled out and persecuted, and their turnover is high - almost all of them moving on to better companies. My departure from the company was one of the most unprofessional and inhuman experiences I've had. I am shocked to see the gap between what they profess as values and how they conduct themselves in person.Show Less[/size]
Advice to Management
You profess humility. Perhaps learn what it means.
Whoever you are, I love you.

I think most people with knowledge of the industry these days realize that crunch time and uncertainty over jobs is an inevitability. We've seen enough features and horror stories from sites over the last few years.
Yet, this sounds like there's serious problems. Like, Thief 2014-level problems.
Mark my words: one day we're going to get a tell-all feature about how screwed up Bioware was in its final days.

You never read "wife of an ea worker" ? BioWare probably had it nice & easy in the first years at least.

Seems like neoptism and expected a**kissing is par for the course at Bioware. It's no wonder they can't handle different opinions.
I just love how even the reviews that rate working at BW as high confirms the negative reviews of employees getting singled out for not "playing along".
Positive OutlookNo opinion of CEOI have been working at BioWare full-time (More than 10 years)
Pros
Great projects and great teams!! There are so many passionate people that continue to push boundaries each and everyday. The studio has a deep desire to put the staff and fans first, which creates an awesome cultural work space.
Cons
Sometimes there are a few bad eggs that seem determined to derail the project or team goals or just simply have a hard time getting on board or fitting in. I don't think this is unique to BioWare, just something that becomes tiring.
Can't fit in? Have a different opinion? You're just a "bad egg" apparently.

Well what's concerning is there seems to be a bit of money issue.
And yes some problem with management .

Here's another choice quote.
It's probably time to let go of that empty promise of maintaining the integrity of the old BioWare ways and identity.. long time employees know what's what, and new employees just get a confused view of the big picture. Upper management needs to look beyond their direct reports and open their eyes to the massive disconnects that exist, and then care enough to address it.

I have been working at BioWare full-time (More than 8 years)
Pros
friendly co-workers here, some people that have remained for a long time which shows loyalty. They supply a fun games room and regularly stock ice cream treats in the kitchen. An active living rebate and a games console rebate are nice additions as well
Cons
EA has taken over and everything is about the finances now unfortunately. Seems like much of the soul of the company as a whole has left
Advice to Management
think back to how things were before EA

And let's not forget, even way back in 2012, there were reviews like this:
Nepotism is rampant.
Huge team sizes.
Seemingly closed to new ideas.
Not much room to grow. Many employees are expected to specialize in a particular aspect of their discipline, and there are few opportunities for leadership.
Art and Programming departments get their way more than they should because BioWare has trouble hiring programmers and artists.
Many producers are completely clueless at how to manage a large team.
The Dragon Age management team is misguided and they seem to be group-thinking their franchise off a cliff.
Some managers tend to take undue credit for the hard work and brilliant ideas of their team members.
Most people at Bioware Edmonton have never worked for other game companies, and many of them probably wouldn't cut it outside BioWare.
High cost of living in Edmonton, despite the fact that hardly anyone really wants to live there.Advice to Management
Rather than rewarding loyalty by promoting long-timers to positions where they become inept, bring in some fresh talent from outside BioWare to modernize how you develop games. The way BioWare Edmonton does business is very expensive and it is not changing to match the pace of the industry. Development costs for Triple-A games are increasing, but BioWare's profits are not keeping pace, and SWTOR was very
disappointing in terms of sales. If things don't change soon, EA is likely to trim a lot of the fat from BioWare Edmonton to make the studio more sustainable.

I have no idea what epicaricacy means , but the "I love gossip and dirty laundry" part of me is having a field day right now.
I'll feel bad tomorrow.
I will never feel bad.
But seriously. Inquisition? That's the goal post now? Are we serious?

lol, I won't.
You reap what you sow. That might sound mean considering I'm friendly with some who work there, but when Bioware talks about "We're open minded, we're supporters of everyone, we care about all of our fans" yet have Manveer Heir waving around a White Tears mug on social media for all to see with ZERO consequences, I don't feel at all guilty about reveling in what I'm reading on Glassdoor.
Because its one thing when fans say it.
Its another when an employee does.
