I actually think Cassandra has done rather well and deserves no criticism.
Her forum was first out of the blocks and she has put a ton of work into it. I thought it could have been 'the one' for about 36 hours.
With Cyonan, DragonRacer, Hrungr and others setting up at new BSN, and now by far the biggest group, I think the 'race' between the two is over.

However, I can't begrudge Cassandra a 'Bernie Sanders' moment (Brit attempts American political humor)
and when ready she will be welcomed at new BSN as will all members of our community.

may i suggest you read https://forum.biowar...8#entry20425336

i don't want to be in Cyonan's forum because here are lot of people that still don't like me, ranting on me about my past are here at bsn.boards.net too. i prefer to not sign up here and get bullied over it. safetry is important for me. don't like to fight with anyone, even with Cyonan. i'm sorry, Sofa.. but i'm not joining.

As someone who is also on the EA-hate train I also have to ask, does anyone think Bioware would still be open without EA? Was the company sustainable without them?

If anything these forums had taught BioWare, that there is a huge unmined potential in the DatingSim market, because of a huge overlap in a well established consumer base.

With them as the first AAA DatingSim developers, they could potentally become top dogs of the industry. Alas, they decided to focus on unpolished gameplay elements.

Just think about it BioWare! Bite the bullet already, you've been sucking on the barrel for years now! You could even milk the crap out of it with DLC.

You want them 18+ scenes? 0.99$. Per romance path. Want that bisihie to play for your team, because no S/S LI means preorder cancelled? 4.99$ Character Packs!

I'm sure you'll find a way to comply with the must have multiplayer elements EA dictate, but I don't want to think about it too much, this site already made me consume a huge amount of brain bleach.

I've never played one but "simulator" implies it strives to be as realistic as possible. BW romances are about as realistic as those Disney movies with sentient furniture.

It was the most ridiculous thing ever. Launching copies of a game into the sky and having people go through hell to be the ones to get them.

Some landed on the most ridiculous locations and couldn't be retrieved by fans even if they wanted them. It was so incredibly short sighted.

And how much good did it do for the game? None.

I dunno. I thought watching that play out was a lot of fun. And if you wanted to chase one of them, well, having it landing someplace inaccessible is just a chance you take. I might have played myself if one had landed anywhere near here.

I think you are on to something. I would buy optional romance content. *runs away*

Remember the absolute clusterfuck that was the Mass Effect 3: Space Edition? Bunch of lunatics running around chasing weather balloons, launches having to be called off because it seemed no one bothered to check beforehand what the regulations were for even doing such a thing, people trespassing all over private property for a hoodie... Classic Bioware. That was the last time I ever heard or saw David Silverman's face though, so, chalking it up as a win.

Was he the same man responsible for all those cringetastic interviews with ME3 voice actors?

Closing the forums is in stark contrast to the claim that Bioware listens to their community. They direct their fans to easy to control social media sites and to ones that don't allow in-depth discussion. That's like listening to the fans with fingers in your ears. As long as their telemetry data sets are providing the answers to aid development, there is no need to listen anyway. Anything can be sold with a solid hype marketing campaign with buzz words which gives new meaning to terms like "innovation" and "iconic". They love to co-operate with a paper magazine, to provide an exclusive article as an extension of the marketing campaign; they love to shake your hand at an annual convention; they love to hear the praise in a 140 character one liner; and they love to get 10,000 likes for an announcement of a trailer to be released many months from now; they love to bow and wave to the crowd. And above all, they love the money.

Still stupid. You'd think if you're giving out copies of the game this way you'd ensure they'd land somewhere where people could retrieve them.

Might as well dropped them in a volcano.

If they had made that invitation only, it would have been an excellent way to clean up the forums.

Bioware's marketing has been bad for freaking ever.

Lets not forget, "FIGHT LIKE A SPARTAN!"-DA2

Or those episodes of whatever where Bioware people are interviewing other Bioware people and made it look like the most cringeworthy stuff you could possibly record

Mass Effect 3 "YOU CAN START WITH THIS ONE, ITS A GREAT PLACE TO COME IN TO THE FRANCHISE"

Yeah, the terrible end as opposed to the great games that came before

How about Casey Hudson who went on Twitter and was like, "I read Mass Effect Deception, its a great book" when it was in fact the greatest insult to the intelligence of a Mass Effect fan up until the ME3 ending, perhaps even worse than the ending.

Then Bioware had the audacity to say they'd fix the book in later versions, which they never did.

Or how when the Bioware Bazaar thing blew up in their face they said they'd do global equivalents later, which they never did.

Bioware marketing sucks.

Really? I have been told that it is responsible for the increased sales for DAI, after the complaints were made of DA2, and allowing it to win GOTY. But then again, many folks like to be on both sides of an issue by straddling the fence.

Liking because

1. 1000 likes to give out a day

2. Nice to hear it moved you

Not because I like you crying. :P

I don't really see what the problem is. The point of the whole thing was the randomness of where they'd land. That's what made it fun to watch; remember, this is a marketing scheme. And on the player side, it's like a lottery ticket. If you didn't like your odds in the lottery, then you could just sit it out and buy a copy like anybody else.

I never saw the point of it being where they landed, but rather the point being that a fan got to them and got to take the game home early.

And with that not happening more than once, it defeated the purpose.

I totally forgot about the Bazaar! What a time to be alive that was. You couldn't have made it up, nor the PR disasters to follow.

I had one warning point, that simply would not go away, to my eternal and lasting shame on my original account. Then I lost access, created a new account and have no warning points. I have no friends, no likes and no record of posts, but I do not have any warning points. Yay?
