On Facebook, sure. Oh that's right - facebook was the audience Bioware going for, right? The audience that will criticize them less?

The most meaty user reviews on metascore (the ones with longer than three sentences) are scathing.

If one is using Metacritic as a source, that explains a lot.... :D

Especially when Gaider is involved.

LOL, I just remembered got banned from the DA wiki after 1 post because I jokingly called him "the archmage of retconjuration."  Seems they're delicate little snowflakes too.

Wiki editors are always special little princesses. Have you seen anything about the kind of people who edit Wikipedia?

It's not my source. I've never looked at that site before. But a lot of the user reviews are well-written.

Besides that, I know some people in real life who didn't even buy DAI, because of their past experience with ME3. A segment of people not even playing Inquisition, when they had previously played other Bioware games.

Well, fair enough to your opinion. But you're outnumbered on this forum and outside of it in regards to how Inquisition holds up against DA2.

I would've figured after Inq's responses that Bioware would pop back around here more.

Many times, it's not opinions.  DA2 is objectively worse in many areas.  Opinions of what type of story is better, that sort of thing there's no right or wrong answer.  But in many areas, DA2 is simply bad.  It's not a matter of opinion.  For example, in Act 1 when you're forced to let Petrice go for no good reason.  No one knows she's there except for her one guard, there's no way she can be connected to Hawke.  She event went on about it.  And she just tried to get you killed.  You have means, motive, and opportunity.  You're forced to let her walk through because plot armor, she's necessary later.  Especially for a company that's always been about games giving you choices, that is complete crap.  That is bad writing.  It's not my opinion that it's bad writing, it is a matter of fact.  And there's tons things like that in DA2.

That's pretty tame, I've seen everything from anal beads to omno-dildos to Miranda giving a reach-around to ladyboy Jack.

For a while my friends and I would sit around and read bad ME fapfics out loud while playing MP. I don't think we ever found anything more hilarious than Tali being bred by multiple Varren.

Just weird how they're closing the place with the most control so they can instead be in places with the least control

Less control also means less accountability. Imagine how embarrassing it must have been to their corporate overlords that some of the most virulent criticism against (pick your favorite Bioware trainwreck, like original ME3 endings) was hosted from and funded by the brand itself?

Now, when the next trainwreck happens, it's just, you know, anonymous haters of the internets, nothing anyone can do about them.

There's a difference between giving you unlimited choices like Skyrim, and having a controlled story. Petrice was an excellent character. You couldn't kill her because of the precedent of the chantry and the fact Hawke is by that point a notable member of Kirkwall society.

I think you just don't grasp the precedents and atmosphere of the setting.

Someone deleted Seraphim24's post. It had duplicate quotes but they could've just fixed it, not deleted it entirely.

Just the BW wikias.  The ME one is hilariously bad too.  They're simple-minded people who couldn't put 2 and 2 together.  Ever.  About anything.  ALL theories are idiotic to them.  You can still find old threads where they make fun of the theory that Matriarch Aethyta is Liara's father.  They won't even acknowledge things like Aria being Aleena because it was only confirmed on Twitter, not in game, so it doesn't count.  Pretty pathetic.

Aye, when the whole forum united with "I used to be part of the community but now I'm just from X"

We all united as one nation that had been wronged. If I remember right it was one guy making all the banners. We were all one in an epic dumpster fire of rejection. Almost every other PR disaster had us divided into the people unhappy and the people defending Bioware, but that one glorious night and the days that followed we all cried out "WTF?!?!" in one multilingual voice.

And Metacritic allows such folks post reviews, even if they have not played and/ or purchased the game. Invalidates the data, for me at least.

"Sense of entitlement" is one of those words that smart people said once, and stupid people heard it and went "I can use this for ANYTHING!"  It's like the duct tape of dumb people's arguments.

You know, kind of like "toxic."

Anytime I see someone use the word "toxic" in contexts not discussing the harmful effects of certain materials on organics I want to punch said person though the screen. And then set them on fire.

Disney celebration scenes and ending scenes.

While this course of discussion has merit, this really is not the thread for the topic and´the discussion should be moved elsewhere if it continues.

As I can no longer find the thread I was remembering, I would like to note that I don't see that much difference between the celebration scene in Origins and the celebration scene in Inquisition except that they are in reverse; they both have the character have the option of talking to their party members and a crowd waiting for them.

I think it may have been you who mentioned the crowd that cheered for the Inquisitor and their team? In Origins, I belive there is the same thing for the Warden with a crowd awaiting them outside the throne room in Denerim. This scene is simply not on-screen as the sliders roll when the Warden leaves the room.

I don't know, a romanced Cullen at Inquisition's end is really not similar at all, after all, he is not royalty.

Because the Warden doesn't have a celebration scene until the end of the game when he's earned it and beat the archdemon. Inquisitor has one just walking into Skyhold. The celebration scene in DAI at the end is fine.

Also it feels unwarranted since we don't see the allies come together at end of DAI. In Origins, the celebration is propped up by SEEING the fruits of the Warden's labor come together for the final battle.

It does not matter if the accumulated score mentioned earlier contains both. Now indv reviews might contain useful info, but looking on a site with erroneous data, algorithms, and fictional reviews in unwise.

There's a very high chance it is the case , yes.

If you mean Conal?

If I remember correctly he didn't stay around much after closing the Off Topic , he just left a thread for people to vent.

I don't think he had much to say beyond his PR speech and a bit of "there, there".

Not that I blame him , dumping someone can be really awkward and he had to dump a whole community of people... :wizard:
