I also canceled my Pre-Order for ME:A...I mean what am I supposed to do play it once?

Come on. What if I have questions? What if I want to discuss the lore, the new world, someone's (what's the word Alistair used) hindquarters, what I did wrong in the romance? Where will I turn to without the forums? They will not be here. Will they?

I am living in some fantasy world where the ending changes. That doesn't happen here, does it?

Me too. *passes tissues around*.

I HATE to not preorder MEA. But I have to put my money where my mouth is. I'm not happy about doing this either.

I only finished ME3 and DAI once, which is more than enough. Star brat and Hinterquisition destoried my 2nd run attempts. Try some really great RPG which have much more meanningful endings influenced by player's chioces (e.g. TW3, Pillars of Eternity etc.). As for ME:A I wish it is good, but not really to care about it.

I attribute it to a financial perspective. To keep an archived forum in place takes funding. There's no benefit to them only to the fans and only a few at that. So keep the info for a small amount if time then recoup. I can't attribute malice, incompetence perhaps but malice takes into consideration an emotional thought process directed at specific person or persons. I don't see the evidence of that. By evidence I mean specific rationales posted or reported and not interpretation.

Or maybe a matter of convenience. They don't want any type of negative stuff or thread to be linked in the future, no matter how old. Nothing that gives them a "bad" figure.

And the way I see it they had 2 choices: they either wipe out everything which is super easy, or they start selecting which threads to keep which is time consuming and overall not a fun thing to do. So they picked the easy way.

Of course there's a third choice that would be basically being cool and not closing the blasted place regardless of your strong biased feelings against it; you know, because the users care a lot about such place, but oh well...

I wasn't planning on pre-ordering ME:A due to the insane patch cycle that DA:I had after release. I was debating about getting the CE if the goodies looked appealing, and I was going to at least buy it new. Now...now I just want to wait for a few months after ME:A is released and try to find it used. I'm feeling that jaded at this point.

The point stands, very few people actually like this decision except:

1) A few bitter former employees of Bioware

2) People who have always hated this forum and still for some unknown reason hang out here, probably to hateread and hatepost.

3) The "execs" or unknown personas that made this decision.

Then there is the "meh" slice of the pie for people who long left after they stopped playing Bioware games.

Then there is EVERYONE ELSE. People that never signed in that utilized this site for their own game play and fans that love it.

Yep, still a very bad decision.

Absolutely. I mean, how many people signed up on the site just to say that they deeply disagree with this decision. Lurkers that never created an account before took the time to create one and leave a comment asking BW to reconsider.

To this day, I haven't bought thing one from BioWare post the great EC download that was an excuse for the atrocious ending, rather than fixing it.  But to this day, people insist that somehow I have magically purchased their products anyway.

And then there are the people actually still trying to convince me to buy the rest of the ME3 DLCs.  I got that their hearts are in the right place, but come on...THAT'S exactly the point being made in the quote.  If people hate something, it blows my mind why they keep on buying it.

The forums were good.  And yes, I secretly hoped a whole slew of people would get booted so we could have the old, actually decent BioWare back.  Ha ha on me, right!?

I've experience the same with Ubisoft and the Assassin's Creed series.  I loved everything about the series, remembered the Arabic lines for the Creed motto and even thought of getting the AC symbol tattooed on my body (thankfully I dodged that bullet). But after experiencing let down after let down I decided not to buy another AC game from them no matter how much of a fan I was.  Yet other fans kept buying, all while complaining about the yearly releases.

Perhaps more and more fans stopped spending money on it because Ubisoft finally decided to listen and skipped the yearly release date, whether or not that would result in a good AC game remains to be seen until it's out.

As for BW, I'm done with them right now. I just don't think I would enjoy ME:A as this closure, along with how some of the former BW employees behaved, have soured me toward the game anyway. Even if the game was good, it would just be a bittersweet enjoyment at best.

It doesn't matter if they want to delete everything because a lot of people are already working on scraping everything off this site to save everything that can be saved.

And the main reason why this forum has been so wondrous in it's way- is that this entire site is a larger brain- so many brains contributed to this and the majority were very motivated fans. For good or for ill all of that has accumulated to the pearl that this place is- and they are going to wipe it out but we will remember it. There will be copies of it.

Any ill will spread because of this act- while may not hit EA where it hurts- will haunt Bioware in general I think. There will be the new gamers- the younger teenagers that buy into MEA and then dig back for the other games etc. But they are going to lose people because of this.

So even if it isn't a large amount of people- it's people like me that used to be a cheerleader for Bioware. That is gone now. Do you know how hard it is to have a customer or fanbase so loyal that they will argue against your flaws to the rest of the world?!

It's hard. Not many companies have that.

This is just an extension of that "less resources = more creativity"  point we were talking about on the last page.

Fewer characters just means that we have to be more efficient about expressing ourselves.  B)

I don't think I'm feeling that jaded. I will probably pre-order from a local site that usually make up a good pre-order deal. I mean, sure, I'm disappointed about the BSN closing because I loved coming on here. I'm super annoyed that they are nuking and so many dedicated, hardworking fans will lose a lot of what they have put into the community. But at the end of the day, if I think the game looks good then I will buy it and play the **** out of it.

I do understand though why you're feeling the way you are and you're definitely entitled to it. *hugs*

I would not be surprised if a lot of folks just wait till all dlc for the game have been released and EA releases a game of the year edition shortly after, like DAI, for $59.99.

I'm annoyed. Maybe a Biodev can weigh in for me. And no, not Conal. I mean a Jos, a Brojo, a someone who has or might sign up for one of these replacement forums.

Question- Whats the point?

Here we have a perfectly functioning forum. One with 15 years of history behind it when including the reworks, inclusions, removals, etc etc. One that is constantly linked to when people need support with whatever game issue since EA Answers or whatever its called is completely useless according to the people who use it(I don't, shocker). One with an established community with many various opinions and suggestions to be made on the products that are produced and developed by Bioware/EA.

If we here on this forum are not good enough to warrant visits and involvement, why sign up for another forum? Whats the intent? To contribute there as opposed to here? To find inspiration there instead of here? To talk to fans there instead of here?

Is no one capable of talking to the higher ups and raising a fuss about this? Does anyone care enough about this forum and the people on it to step up?

I read the Glassdoor reviews. Maybe talking up to a higher up is an express ticket to the need for another job. In that case, fine. I get it.

But it is so ridiculously frustrating for me to see all this here, all this that can be fixed and repaired and cared for and nurtured and taken care of for the future, only to know its going to be glassed to hell.

And then find out the people we need participating here are signing up to participate in the fractured versions of this existing location.

I don't get it. Help me understand.

Thanks panzerwzh...I kickstarted Pillars, well, my whole family did.

And, I cannot play TW3..the Witcher is too sexy. I want to play opposite him, next to him. Not as him. *wink*

Great chioce! I also funded the Torment: Tides of Numenera which is the sequal for my all time No.1 RPG-Planescape Torment. In short, there is a bright future for our RPG fans especaily since TW3's success showcased the market for great RPGs.

As for the White Wolf, I would totally be gay for him. Da beast!

I could see myself doing that. I'm feeling really jaded now, but I can't speak about how I'm going to feel when a GOTY or the like edition comes out. By then the more painful feeling might subside and I'll feel much better about this.

Thanks. This is the first time since the format change in 2014 that I have changed my name.

I'm going to miss the playful Bronco versus Patriots debates we had earlier this year. I think the Patriots have a good shot of winning this year. I have no delusions about my home team getting to the Super Bowl. I'm also going to miss the dozens of ways you've learned to experience the ME series. And I'm going to miss the screenshot thread. I always thought I could go back there when I did my pre-ME:A rerun of the (first?) ME trilogy.

After great consideration, we are closing down the BioWare Facebook account, effective August 26, 2016. This wasn’t an easy decision.

Soon after:

"- Our Twitter account unfortunately will have to close as we discover better ways to communicate with our fans, we love you all and we're sorry ...

... Also while we're at it, you cannot use the word 'Bioware' or 'Mass Effect' or 'Dragon age' or any other Bioware product on Reddit or Tumblr, since we've banned them on those sites, feel free to head to NeoGaf forums. Our deepest condolences we love you all" -

What? Patriots? Yuck. In fact that calls for a double yuck. Yuck, yuck. I'm a Panther fan. We will see you on your home turf @2030 Sept 8.

I think the Patriots have a good shot of winning this year.

No they don't. I say they don't make the playoffs

I have no delusions about my home team getting to the Super Bowl.

Your defense looks good. Your offense needs help.

My Panthers kept nearly all the same personal. Got our number 1 receiver back. That will help. Loosing Norman to Washington is a wait and see situation on what that will do to the secondary.

I'm also going to miss the dozens of ways you've learned to experience the ME series. And I'm going to miss the screenshot thread. I always thought I could go back there when I did my pre-ME:A rerun of the (first?) ME trilogy.

Thanks. But don't be sad. I'm working on bringing a few threads to bsn.boards.net. It will take time. In the meantime, I created the What did you do in ME today thread on that site.

I wish I could have 999 clones of myself, so I could like this 1000 times.

Priestly waddled in the first day and everyone was happy to see him, showering him with praise. Then he and Gaider openly mocked the forum closing on Twitter. Give it some time, they'll go back to loving them I'm quite sure.

There was a guy called Joe on facebook (among the huge mob of fans literally lynching Bioware right now), who posted he is big fan of ME and then expressed his big disappointment for the BSN's closing and the impending deletion of thousand of very useful posts throughout the years (solving bugs, glitches, mods, blogs, etc)

and this is the reply Priestly was very quick to give him,

 13912725_10210020604693380_2332590023456

That reply must has been posted either immediately before or after Priestly came here to post his all sentimental adieu to BSN forum community. Does he suffer from split personalities?

The replies from Bioware have been much friendlier.........and so very useful,

"BioWare technical support will continue to be available through help.ea.com and answers.ea.com."

Do they know that those sites usually never have an answer or if they have one, is "We strongly recommend you to go to BSN to find a solution to your problem".
