The cap seems raised. At least, I haven't run out yet, and I've been liking a lot more things than usual.

I'm not sure, but I've pretty much been sprinkling them all over the place for the last couple of days and haven't run it.

"We're dissolving your community, but here, have some extra likes to hand out as a parting gift."

I was under the impression they wanted people to use other social media because it was easier for them to control the flow of negativity?

I mean, don't get me wrong, that theory is obviously flawed, but are you telling me they made this decision, but have decided to continue having an official facebook page that doesn't allow them to delete comments?

Wasn't that a bit of an oversight?

It is kind of a flaw in the logic of their official explanation, yes.

Pretty much, the aspects of BioWare disappearing are the ones that made them unique.  Soon it will be just another (EA) video game company.  Well, it kind of already is, but the forums and special things left are more like fossils.  At least the disappearance of the forum really communicates the approach of Bioware/EA these days.

Like I had said earlier, you can find better stuff out there now.  Look at the Elder Scrolls titles.  There may be some adjustment period, but it is far better a direction than wherever BW went.  I mean, don't get me wrong...to this day Dragon Age: origins and ME1 are my most favorite games ever. But the spiral future has been so obvious for so long.  Destiny blew it hard, so there's still room for another sci-fi title...but someone outside of EA will invent it first.

Good luck people as you move on to better games and those who produce them.  I feel sorry for the few BioWare employees left who obviously really do a good job and also care.  Hopefully, they've had their resumes ready to go and are sending them out.

After great consideration, we are closing down the BioWare Facebook account, effective August 26, 2016. This wasn’t an easy decision.

Obviously, nothing ever dies in Facebook.  In fact, if Facebook ever goes out of business, I expect it to somehow still exist in all it's inept glory.

Isn't Bioware working on some brand new I.P at the moment too? Official forums and the like are free marketing when it comes to stuff like that. Fans love discussing new lore and settings etc. The new I.P won't get the same benefit from that as ME and DA got. Talking about DA on these forums certainly made me want to play the games even more.

Looking at the Bioware's official facebook profile....This storm is worse than the ME3 one. People are ANGRY.

Link please? I'm on a Kindle and don't feel like trying to remember my FB password at the moment. I tried to find any sort of comments outside of what's trending to no avail.

These posts never stop. I love it.  :wizard: And I'm camping on this site until Annulment. Oh yes.

So I actually put on my Commander of the Grey t-shirt today... and I don't know how to feel about it.

Also, a note to some mobile users: switch to Full Version so the lifeboat links in signatures can be seen.  :)

Don't mind me here. Carry on...

To this day, I haven't bought thing one from BioWare post the great EC download that was an excuse for the atrocious ending, rather than fixing it.  But to this day, people insist that somehow I have magically purchased their products anyway.

And then there are the people actually still trying to convince me to buy the rest of the ME3 DLCs.  I got that their hearts are in the right place, but come on...THAT'S exactly the point being made in the quote.  If people hate something, it blows my mind why they keep on buying it.

The forums were good.  And yes, I secretly hoped a whole slew of people would get booted so we could have the old, actually decent BioWare back.  Ha ha on me, right!?

I will no longer purchase or support any EA and/or Bioware product and/or service. I refuse to support the type of business model that disrespects and abuses customers.

Amen, brother. Sadly, I stopped after the Andromeduh announcement but I wish I quit long before. I kept hoping deep down that'd finish ME3's story. Ha ha on me too, I guess.

I think it's not so much of wiping the slate clean as it is no longer wanting to deal with this particular community. The toxicity of the BSN has been referenced by a few outlets the latest was Forbes. Bioware created a community which it failed to moderate and has now grown into an area where it's not respected and has had very little to no interaction with. That can be interpreted as wiping the slate clean as well as wanting to end the situation.

So to solve the problem of their own making, they spread any toxicity the forum has into the greater cesspool of the internet, while disenfranchising every loyal fan out there that uses it. I'm sure ME:A and their other releases are going to be flawless, and if they're not, the internet is known to be really forgiving...isn't it?  What a mess...

Time to stop playing their game. Literally and figuratively. Either be angry and continue to support resulting in a continued cycle or don't. It's a choice.

I want Bioware to stop disrespecting and abusing customers. I can't control their action in regards to the BSN. I can control where my money is spent.

You know different factors play

And then there's the not-so-obvious. "You've got the problem of what I call 'love abuse,'" Molyneux said. "When EA bought Bullfrog, they just wanted to make it nicer. They moved us to a nice office, where we couldn't shoot each other [with BB guns] in the corridors. We had an HR department because that was a nice proper professional thing to do. And that changes the flavor of the company."

I saw somebody post a similar issue in the comments thread there - where they talked about how having extra money/resources on hand can actually have a negative impact on quality/creativity of a product.

Thinking about it, it's actually really similar to the kinds of issues that sometimes crop up with research proposals. If you want the government or some entity to give you money, you just throw words like "nano" or "cancer" all over your proposal to bump up your chances of success. It doesn't matter how much/lack of quality there is to the underlying idea, you don't have to think about it as much if someone is just willing to hand you a blank check.

Oh, Lordy, I am so guilty I did not stop until Sunday. My SW:TOR needed renewing. I cannot lie, I am a Founder, I really wanted to push that button...but I did NOT.

After hearing about the forums, I just cannot do it anymore. I am camping out and finally posting because this will be my cathartic exit...

Unless they keep the forums open. Okay now I just sound like one of those "entitled" people. Nevermind, I will just go cry again in the corner.

Yes- much like giving a film director "all the CGI" button. Constrictions (whether they be monetary or something else) can often give rise to innovation AND creativity. Obviously for innovation- creativity has to be present of a sort. So I am not surprised that a lot of smaller companies can lose something by being swallowed up in a smoother, more sterile, more corporate environment.

I must say that I've never been entirely 100% tinfoil hat towards "EA RUINED BIOWARE" but I definitely can see that it has changed, perhaps not for the better.

I think I'll stay angry for a bit at least. Then i will play those games in my steam library I bought but haven't got round to yet. I may lurk on one of those fan forums being set up, when more info on ME:A is released. It is going to have to be much better than ME1/2, DAO and cheap before I'll even consider buying it.

Second it, DAI will be the last product I ever get from EAware.

When it comes to decent RPG, I have better choices.

I also canceled my Pre-Order for ME:A...I mean what am I supposed to do play it once?

Come on. What if I have questions? What if I want to discuss the lore, the new world, someone's (what's the word Alistair used) hindquarters, what I did wrong in the romance? Where will I turn to without the forums? They will not be here. Will they?

I am living in some fantasy world where the ending changes. That doesn't happen here, does it?

Me too. *passes tissues around*.

I HATE to not preorder MEA. But I have to put my money where my mouth is. I'm not happy about doing this either.
