Is this because I just gave everyone 1000 likes a day?
I figure it is like a going out of business sale, we only have a month left to use up all our excess "like this" inventory!
Well, that and you never gave up on us. So yeah. ![]()

I actually used my years long presence here to try to convince Google that "Sylvius the Mad" was my real name.
It's as real a name as any I've had.
You'll forever be Sylvius to me.
Well, he was always there at least.
He's actually the reason I got ME1. I had questions and he had posted answers. Future I'll have to wait till someone who plays the games have answers.
You know, not all of us our social media whores. But I get it. The Bioware forums are no longer that useful to you, and you're the ones keeping them running. I guess I'll just not be discussing DA or ME online much anymore.
I know eh? I'm actually deleting my Twitter and Facebook this week. I'm so done with that stuff. baby pics, family stuff and waaay to much anime stuff. None I like or care for and none of my friends are gamers.
Ohh? How about re-opening off-topic just for the heck of it then too?
Actually, YEAH. With this place going down, why not re-open Off Topic for the last month?
That would be HYPE.

I'm...completely lost.
Talking to the devs is amazing, but I always viewed the forums as a way to connect with other fans. Other social media isn't...really good for that. Like, at all. You're either limited to tiny conversations or to confusing formats.
The only thing I can think of is to set up our own fan forum elsewhere, but...seriously?
I'm sorry, but this just seems really ridiculous to me.
The internet message board is my ideal medium for having any conversation about anything. I've probably talked to more people here than I have in the entire rest of my life combined.Nowhere, at least not in the way you'll find it here. Social media doesn't allow it.
For every wrestling forum that eloquently converses over how a wrestler isn't all that great and could improve, you'll always have Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr/Reddit to provide, "X is bst evar, shud be chmpion"
Same goes for this.

Come to https://realdragonagefans.forums.net/ A lot of us are, apparently.
I once wrote a BSN post that was 8,000 words.
And I bet, as is typical with the internet, you still couldn't sway anybody to your POV. lol
Later today, I will crawl through this thread and compile a list of all of these linked sites.Come to. Alot of us are, apparently. https://realdragonagefans.forums.net/

This is the standard by which I will judge all other interaction, and I fear that all other interaction will be found lacking.
I wish I could hop in a TARDIS and go back to the old days and read up on all your old ideas as they were posted fresh again. ![]()
Mass-Necro-Party!
LEEETS GOOOOOOO

... YOU CAN DO THAT?! ![]()
Well, that's a plus, at least.
When they took the old BioBoards down (because of a security breach), they said they were going to put them back up as an archive.I wish I could hop in a TARDIS and go back to the old days and read up on all your old ideas again.
Yeah, if anything this is an important place for a lot of people. I work from home mostly and I really only leave the house in the evenings and on weekends so this has become part of my daily ritual. Even if it sometimes seems like I hate everything BioWare is doing, this forum became part of my daily ritual because I'm more passionate about BioWare's games than any others'. I also like Pokemon, and Kingdom Hearts, and Dark Souls, etc but I don't spend my time talking about those games online because I don't really care that much about them. Our passion for BioWare's games brought us here and this has become our clubhouse. IMO it's not BioWare's to just shut down because they prefer the stunted superficiality of social media. This is a community, not an expense to be cut.
If they do shut these forums down I feel like it will be the definitive point, the climax, in BioWare becoming irrelevant. After that, what makes BioWare special? Without a social aspect what reason is there to really care about these sorts of games? Without the social aspect your choices in these games are just... abstract.
I never knew i would say something like that...
Give me a hug Killroy.
When they took the old BioBoards down (because of a security breach), they said they were going to put them back up as an archive.
They never did. That still makes me sad.
I saved a handful of arguments I had with In Exile (then known as Virgil Romanus), but that's it.
I wonder if we could scrape this whole site before they take it down so we can save it for posterity (and data mining).
*shrugs*
I know I'll miss my threads and ideas.
Well my original reaction was "oh bummer". Then I realized that these pages and threads will be no longer accessible.
So Bioware is apparently completely okay with throwing away encyclopedia's worth of bug tracking, bug fixing, work arounds, mods, modding communities, mod help and theorycrafting?
Like, okay, sure, we CAN move on to other social media to discuss the games, but to throw away the resources?! WHY?!
