Nope. Same old, same old.

Did they take offense at the implication that BioWare is going to share the fate of Origin System, Bullfrog, Westwood etc?

BioWare has at least 3 more years in it before EA will get rid of it completely. They two very well established IPs with Dragon Age and Mass Effect, both will get a new game in the foreseeable future. SW:TOR is still going strong (or at least it still makes a profit), so that's not going anywhere either. Then there's this new IP they have in development.

So yeah. It's the end times ... but only for the forum.

Not allowed to comment on why one gets banned, I think.

Though we haven't heard anything about the new IP in some time, have we? I haven't actively followed it, but I never got the sense that much was being made public knowledge. Perhaps so as not to overshadow MEA's upcoming release. But could also be that the new IP goes the way of Shadow Realms.

Right. As long as Bio's still producing profitable games they're not going anywhere. A couple failures and they're toast, but that's no different from the fate of an independent Bio.

I disagree with this, but we shall see. I think Andromeda will be their last game and the reason is that they haven't talked about any future titles. We knew of Shadow Realms or whatever it was called, but that got cancelled a few months back. Usually we know of DLC that is on the way before their next release hits, but yet, there is none for Inquisition beyond the released Trespasser DLC. I hope you are right though, because I'd like to have more titles to potentially play.

The only way I would agree with that is if Andromeda does very poorly. If it does well, and I believe it will, I don't see it as the last ME game

The other thing is do they have to talk about any future game after Andromeda? Right now their only focus is on MEA.

Hmm. When I've seen this sort of thing in the past it's turned out to be two indpendent bugs with similar symptoms. But that was PC stuff; I've never heard a plausible interpretation for two supposedly identical consoles having different bug profiles. But I don't follow console stuff all that closely.

IMO, it's some common and benign seeming thing that's clogging the script engine. And there's no symptoms untils it's jammed too much to ever work right again. Something like having "use healing potion if below 30% hp" in the tactics, or possibly even just using a certain type of weapon. It's got to be something innocuous.

Come to think of it, I remember a rumor that DA:O had problems with too much RAM as well as too little. Something about a bad addressing scheme.

K7JSBlO.gif

With the kinds of bugs DAO has, I wouldn't doubt this for a minute. How many abilities on items don't do anything at all? Stuff like "weakens nearby darkspawn"? Hell, it could be one of those types of things.

I agree, we haven't heard any confirmation of a new Dragon Age game and we got confirmation of ME:A when ME2 was relatively new. I mean, all they told us is that they're going to make more in the same universe after the trilogy is done, but they did tell us they're making a 4th ME game. We've heard nothing, AFAIK, about a 4th DA game.

Inquisition had 3 dlc. The other 2 were Descent and Jaws of Hakkon. Not very memorable.

I don't know if Andromeda will be the last ME game, but I hope so.

Andromeda is planned as another trilogy, is it not? And they should have DA4 in development, too.

Nothing has been said if MEA is standalone or part of another trilogy.

And last I heard, DA4 has not been greenlit yet.

I agree with Vroom.  They have been more secretive lately....and you could argue that Bioware could just be sick of the whiney drama that always goes on here and constant trolling and taddling (hurt feelings) among other things...such as them getting called out on their bs here, but I really think they are on their way out the door.  I think most can agree with the drop in quality since EA came into the picture.  They have been ran into the ground and the REAL "Bioware" has left the company already anyways.  If I had to guess, this company is being prepared to be buried.

This doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense. Trespasser was announced to be the end of the DAI DLC cycle, just as Citadel was announced to be the end of the ME3 DLC cycle. And Shadow Realms is not the unannounced IP.

OT: anyone else catch Undead Han's kamikaze run on the ME:A board?

CDPR did something similar not that long ago. During the release of The Witcher 3 and its DLC they didn't utter a single word about Cyberpunk 2077 yet they're currently working on the title. It could be argued they had already announced it though.

I had a somewhat similar issue with GTA V, an issue that only happens to a minority of people but it's still present. That is memory leak. To this day, I cannot play that game; I in fact regret buying it.

I only have 8 gigs of ram but I still met the recommended specs (and I know people with crappiest PCs than mine were able to play the game just fine).

Was desperate enough to ask Rockstar for support and it was the most futile conversation I ever had.

To save time and useless questions I gave them my system specs, told them that all my software was updated and the like.

First thing they ask is if my graphic drivers are up to date, and I'm like "dude I just told you that they are". They asked me for a DxD diag and some other BS and told me in the meanwhile to check the game cache's integrity on Steam. Kind of like when your ISP tells you to restart the router... as if I haven't tried that dozens of times before wasting my time calling them.

Anyways. The guy insisted once more that through my DxD diag he found out that my graphic drivers where outdated, even when I triple checked they were not. At the end they basically told me to "wait for the next patch" And I'm like "you gotta be f****** kidding me".

They ended up closing my case/ticket for lack of updates on the issue and flagging it as "resolved" Simply because of their own incompetence. I had no more info to gave them and they had failed to provide a solution, and when you do not answer your ticket withing 72hs or so they simply close it.

Anyways, sorry for the rant. But that's basically Support on a nutshell.

I forgot about the other 2 dlc, to be honest. I was thinking they had just made Trespasser and found that rather sketchy on its own. Right, but it was cancelled and the unannounced IP remains unannounced which I don't think is a good sign.

I would not be surprised if the game is in its early stages of developement. They're  keeping tight-lipped about it  as not to take any attention away from MEA

I didn't find Shadow Realms to be all that impressive a project, myself. It looked like an EA-inspired MOBA cash-in. I have no idea why they handed it to Bio in the first place,.

Not similar at all. They told us that they were working on the game, the title, some VERY basic info, and told us that we wouldn't likely hear anything more about it for at least several years but they just wanted to let us know what they're planning down the road. The community immediately forgot that last part about years away and began to complain about not getting monthly updates.

As much **** as I may give this place, it isn't THAT bad.

I also reject any notion that this is supposed to be good or that the place is useless because devs don't come here anymore. Plenty of forums have places where devs only ever interact rarely. The biggest point of forums is they give a place for your fanbase to interact: to discuss lore, character analysis, multiplayer, etc., and of course, an off-topic section for users of the forum to discuss their other interests like a community should. A company's forum like this should be for their users' benefit first and foremost.

The truth is this shut down means people will never get together like they do here on a forum of similar style (not reddit or tumblr or more).

Most game forums don't have dev involvement. Bioware was notable for being very sociable here. Then they started being more like everyone else and now thats grounds for closure.

I don't get it.
