No it was intended to read as fans accusing me of censorship, not me being censored from my own company.
Regardless of where I am, I wont be violating my NDA. I consider some of the stuff I post to be more open than most companies will go.
A DEV!!!

Considering the sheer amount of negative feedback that's been allowed on this board I find it odd that someone would accuse you of censorship. That's inane. But that's the internet, people will approach you from some very strange angles.
I disagree about the toxicity relative to reddit, tumblr, etc, other places, this place was the worst absolutely IMO.
This place was for the longest time, even up to the very present, a place which seemed to exist solely to demonstrate just how miserable people with nothing but texts and words could make other people feel.
Anyone who disagreed with the hive mind consensus on anything was abused and/or ultimately censored in one form or another, either by continued abuse or just kind of burying threads/commentary in invective and/or other things.
This is really sad news ![]()
I've always loved the Bioware forums (new and old) as my no. 1 place to read up on and discuss Bioware games. So many great threads here, so much knowledge and content from fans of these amazing games. I'm going to save some threads for sure. Damn this will be one sad Liara signing off ![]()
An ultra rare should always be viable at the highest difficulties, yet the typhoon's viability plummets at higher difficulties.
So you've made some rules that the Typhoon doesn't conform to, therefore it sucks. Got it.
I like both silent and voiced equally.
Same.
BRYANWith the amount of times I get accused of censorship, being in a place where that isnt even in the realm of possibility has an appeal. But that is just me personally.
That's all they need. Instead of DELETING 15 YEARS OF DATA
They're not going to do it. Someone higher up the food chain decided this was a loose end.
This will come back to bite them. It always does.
Compared to other weapons and considering its downsides, yeah, it sucks. It's tied with the claymore for 2nd heaviest weapon after the spitfire but its damage isn't that impressive. The thing everyone fails to consider is the warm up time. It requires you to be out of cover for extended periods of time to get full damage. And that's fine on lower difficulties. On gold, let alone platinum, trying to stay out in the open for extended periods is asking to be turned into soup. An ultra rare should always be viable at the highest difficulties, yet the typhoon's viability plummets at higher difficulties.
My main problem with the typhoon is that the gun is basically a reload-tutorial type of gun. You basically spend more time reloading and running for ammo boxes than firing the blasted thing. That, and the fact that outside the N7Destroyer I cannot see how useful would be on other character.
You tried to feed a stray cat to an ATM. No one wants your pictures here.
I'm really starting to become irritated by the word Toxic. I'm even starting to capitalise it. Every time I see it I wish I hadn't. Is this happening to anyone else? And am I going to be triggered from now on whenever I see or hear the T word causing me to develop a nervous tick?
I say we use it as a drinking game- boys and girls grab your shot glasses or wine glasses or beers!
*just don't drink every single time mentioned, let's drink every fifth time so we can continue to be alive.

There is a vast difference between constructive crit, and the extreme negative reactionary postings that were seen then, and again now. Informing Bioware about the repeated caverns, Sky Ninjas, alien Elves and cartoon Darkspawn helped improve the content for DAI. However, threats against devs, name calling, and other forms of tantrum tossing remains absurd, and understandably, harder to shrug away.
FWIW - I still prefer the changes made to Flemeth, the Qunari, Talents, and full VO. Not the most polished title, but one I still enjoy.
Wow, this really must be the end times... but I do agree with you, Elhanan. Never thought this could happen. ^^
Thin skins.
I'm sure it sucks to have people criticize your work, particularly when some of them make it personal. Criticism has to be expected though if you're going to create anything for public consumption. It goes with the territory, as does some of the " toxic" feedback unfortunately. Despite the occasional troll however, the BSN was very tame compared to most sports fandoms and not much different from any other official video game forum.
If some devs thought this fandom is overly critical or unbearably toxic they should be thankful they're not professional athletes, musicians, filmmakers, artists, ect.
Yes. That is not wrong... but not everyone with talent also automatically has a thick skin. I know I don't. If someone attacked my writing or me personally, then that would put me off interacting with people for a while and certaintly decrease my productivity, too. Constructive critique is one thing, bashing quite another.
The internet itself can be a little "toxic," in the sense that you vitriol and flamewars pretty consistently, all over the place. The guy who does those ____ forums in a nutshell videos on youtube has convinced that we're no worse than the average gaming community.
And we at least have a better punctuation and grammar standard than some.
Yes, the BioWare forum is mostly cute and cuddly compared to what else is out there. Aside from some very unpleasant individuals people here are at least civil in their discussions.
People rant about whiny and angry negative reviews from gamers- they should take a look at negative book reviews. There are some negative book reviews that could disintegrate the skin off an elephant, for real.
And those are leveled at individual authors.
When you make content whatever format or media it is- be prepared to have a thick skin and or ignore the haters. Take what you need to reevaluate your performance but don't let it destroy you.
Exactly.
That doesn't make attacks on authors okay though. They put their work out there to be consumed and judged, not themselves. It's the same with actors, I've never understood why people pry into their personal lives so much - watch the movies, talk about those... but leave the actors in peace.
This forum and the community suffered from the lack of an actual community manager. Someone like Sanya Weathers who interacted with the DAoC fans and basically went between players and devs. In my opinion she should be the role model for every CM, because she did one of the best jobs I've ever seen from a CM. Not to mention that she had a huge part in creating that position in the first place.
I recommend reading this:
https://eatingbees.w...-not-that-hard/
https://eatingbees.w...mple-questions/
If we had had someone like Sanya here, running her team of CMs and with dedicated moderators who interact with the community, then this forum would be a much better place, a place BioWare could be proud of and where the devs could go without fearing personal attacks.
In the end this is an entirely self-made problem. In the fans-BioWare relationship BioWare always held all the power, it was up to them to put things in order again. They didn't really try though, aside from some individual devs. Chris Priestly was more busy flaming posters than improving customer relations and it showed.
Too late now, but I've said this for years.
Maybe we need a ... TOXIC AVENGER!
Lol, lucky you put that bit at the end because I was thinking, "but I don't want to die before the BSN is even closed."
Yeah, I'm a mom, I have fun, but I know how to keep it safe.

What you describe is pretty much tumblr though. I find this place more open to discussion actually ^^; At least people don't tend to sent you anon hate and tell you to kill yourself here- or at least I don't have experience like that.

Welp you got me, you win.
Damn, didn't see that coming.
They're not going to do it. Someone higher up the food chain decided this was a loose end.
This will come back to bite them. It always does.
Perhaps they should rethink that decision. Before someone - perhaps even higher than them - decides to stick a foot so far up their backside, they'll discover what a "loose end" really qualifies as...

Guess we need
Twenty three days to go until forum lock. Is anyone doing anything special for the end days?
I had been pondering the option of changing my name and avatar to Poison Ivy sometime around Halloween, than acting like her for a day before changing it back. Now there won't be a here on Halloween to do that with.
Part of me is considering just doing it anyway sometime in the next month.
Considering my avatar, I would probably have to

But BioWare is going to handle that part themselves, so...
take care of yourself Jade ![]()
