Very sad, it was a ncie place for fans to meet and discuss games. It had a nice format unlike the FAD's known as social medias that just seems to turn into a heap of two second comment spams..

Yeah. I ranted about it a little earlier too. After they banned the topic, quite a few people went "WTF?! Why can't we talk about this?!" or tried to continue discussing it. Both were permanently banned even if it was a first offense.

And people wonder why we hate CP.

 

NeoGAF is the same way. You can get permabanned for talking out of line or not following the majority opinion. Most of the more hardline communities (ME, Destiny, Metal Gear) have seen half or more of their constant posters either temp or permabanned based on the whims of the mods. And that's not even getting into the fact that their traffic has been sliding drastically for the past year due to its heavy moderation/insular community. I'm still laughing at Conal's comment about going there, two days later.

 

With Reddit, you can get shadowbanned or permabanned, but this won't happen if you're on a subreddit for a work - it's usually limited to political or controversial subreddits.

 

Twitter's pretty much a free-for-all. I have heard from some that you can set up bots to permablock people, but I'm not entirely sure if that works, and it means nothing if a ton of people are all slamming you at once. If anything, Twitter is a place where it's far easier to make a mistake or post something inflammatory.

 

Same goes for Youtube. In fact, the trend these days is to focus on "drama". Turning off your comments and votes isn't going to do squat if larger Youtubers have grievances with your game and start posting rants about it. It just makes you look guilty.
