I really should not listen to such music whlie this will be closed, the feels are to damn strong.

i really feel like Bioware betrayed loyal fans, i know they are company that must make money... but this is just to much.

I don't think whoever made the decision to close the forums and wipe it from existence really thought things through fully.

 

The board I'm on ME3Explorer, is trying to save as much as we can. I'm going to make a pass through myself and download what I can, especially collections.

 

By the way, everyone should visit us (http://me3explorer.f...s.org/index.php). We've been doing things BW used to claim were impossible.

 

Just wait until you see what's happening with the Galaxy Map mod. Reinstating Miranda as XO, anyone?

So we've moved on to warnings on a huff, arbitrary deletions and knee-jerk permabans already?  And here I was thinking we'd make it to 1000 pages... *shakes head*.  At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if the sinking ship was scuttled, in catimini, before Aug 26th.  I didn't think they'd stoop to that level of pettiness.

That is actually a valid point. It's pretty cool that this stupid, stupid, stupid (did I mention how stupid closing the BSN is) decision has brought together so many people that never really interacted before to wallow in their mutual misery. 

 

I even got a couple of likes from Elhanan the other day.  I'm pretty sure the Universe is in the process of imploding as we speak.

Your point is valid, but I was actually making a slightly oblique one that is loosely related to that subject.

 

The four asterisks are actually self-censored. I mention in my wee text footnote that the word is a forbidden subject which is for some reason not automatically filtered by the autocensor. It was moderately subtle.

On topic:

 

It hasn't even been a week and so much has happened since the July 29 announcement, not to mention nearly 200 pages of this discussion.

We still have more than three weeks before the lock and naturally the character of the forum and the usual norms are starting to break down.

 

Why start discussions when you only have 22 days to have them?

 

I started watching traffic stats on BSN Prime and other groups.

This forum seems to have lost around 20% over the last week.
Others are growing at variable rates but even the biggest is pulling only 20% of the number that come here, so far.

 

the last week will be interesting, because whilst I don't encourage it personally, I can anticipate some 'destruction of the Kirkwall Chantry' moments.

Those last hours inb4 the lock will be, er, fascinating.

I've lurked on these forums for years, made some posts but nothing extensive. I found these forums to be an incredible source of information, inspiration, and amusement. I'm an old fart, who was raised with "if you don't have anything good too say, don't say anything".

So even though, I've been quite disappointed over the years, I never joined in bashing, on this forum or any other medium. After playing ME2, and the consensus was ME1 was coprodunced by MS it will NEVER be on a Sony. I quietly went out and purchased a 360. Lol. ME3MP, after finally maxing the commons, uncommons and the rares, right about the time the arsenal packs where introduced. I purchased 100 bucks worth of MS points and used them for the arsenal packs. I'm sure everyone can guess the outcome. Still no online rants, or bashing. "If you don't have......"

This move however I idk, how to truly express my disappointment. And what's the point you've apparently stopped listening quite sometime ago.

be joining you. Every time I see a like button I think where is the dislike? How is this a true representation of anything? I think you, BioWare, should be asking this too, but I guess your rose covered glasses are work as intended.

PS I live in Calgary and have had to stop myself, several times this week, from driving north for a little fan/dev interaction. But I'm feeling quite toxic, and you can't seem to understand why a fan might feel that way.

I do wonder what will happen with Bioware after the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda. Will we see the Edmonton office close, with the Bioware in name only Austin office remaining only to futilely try to maintain the inevitable dwindling population of The Old Republic?

EA own the Mass Effect and Dragon Age IPs, they don't need to keep what remains of the old Bioware around in order to make future games in those universes.

Like I said upthread, if they were going to close Edmonton wouldn't they have done it already? ME:A's being worked on mostly in Montreal last I checked.
