I really should not listen to such music whlie this will be closed, the feels are to damn strong.
i really feel like Bioware betrayed loyal fans, i know they are company that must make money... but this is just to much.

I don't think whoever made the decision to close the forums and wipe it from existence really thought things through fully.
The board I'm on ME3Explorer, is trying to save as much as we can. I'm going to make a pass through myself and download what I can, especially collections.
By the way, everyone should visit us (http://me3explorer.f...s.org/index.php). We've been doing things BW used to claim were impossible.
Just wait until you see what's happening with the Galaxy Map mod. Reinstating Miranda as XO, anyone?

Then listen to some of this to get the blood pumping
I bet they will divert people to the shut down boards because nobody informed them that they are gone.
They still direct people to an e-mail if they have questions or complaints about **** decisions that is no longer monitored, and tell people who've had access to the forum's rules disabled to read the rules.
They even tell permabanned accounts to read the rules before re-posting.
The censor software was apparently never updated to censor the forbidden word in question, so I have taken it upon myself to replace that forbidden word with four asterisks. Yes, it looks weird. Kind of makes it seem silly, even, but hey, those are the "unwritten" rules that we can be warned/banned for violating.

I was given a warning on my old account for not bypassing the profanity filter. The asterisks do not protect you.
So we've moved on to warnings on a huff, arbitrary deletions and knee-jerk permabans already? And here I was thinking we'd make it to 1000 pages... *shakes head*. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if the sinking ship was scuttled, in catimini, before Aug 26th. I didn't think they'd stoop to that level of pettiness.
I'm not even angry anymore - just disgusted.
I feel this describes perfectly the treatment we've been getting and the harsh responses BW got in return for such. Roughly speaking naturally.
Been reading up on the last pages, still sad to see our forums closing down.
At least now I feel like eating cookies and drinking milk, thanks to Wolven_Soul and GoldenGail3
Oh and playing Ultima 8, DaemionMoadrin.
Your welcome. ![]()
That is actually a valid point. It's pretty cool that this stupid, stupid, stupid (did I mention how stupid closing the BSN is) decision has brought together so many people that never really interacted before to wallow in their mutual misery.
I even got a couple of likes from Elhanan the other day. I'm pretty sure the Universe is in the process of imploding as we speak.
That meme is the most unfunny thing ever. If George Carlin was around that meme growing up, he'd have become a tax accountant.
The only thing nearly as bad is that "marauder shields" crap.
How could you.
Marauder Shields is a symbol.
Too video gamey lol.

I'll never get over the stupidity of that word being filtered when it's a damn quest title in Inquisition.
Also is there any BioWare game on this board that *isn't* rated M? While I understand some censorship you'd think they'd be a wee bit relaxed about language considering who their games are actually aimed at.
I've gotten more warning points discussing moderation than I ever have in mudslinging insulting debates.
How curious.
I lol'd.

Your point is valid, but I was actually making a slightly oblique one that is loosely related to that subject.
The four asterisks are actually self-censored. I mention in my wee text footnote that the word is a forbidden subject which is for some reason not automatically filtered by the autocensor. It was moderately subtle. ![]()
I'll show myself out...
BotMods. ModBots. BioDrones?
I thought biodrone was a censored word around here.
It got the asterix treatment when it was used to describe mindless fans back in the ME3 days. How interesting.
*shrugs*

Seemed a bit knee-jerk to me, but what do I know. I'm just a green spirit of the forest...

Really?
Even if we're discussing an *** elipsis !
Or in Morse code the **** letter H or even the ***** number 5 ?
(ok I realise I'm being obtuse)
On topic:
It hasn't even been a week and so much has happened since the July 29 announcement, not to mention nearly 200 pages of this discussion.
We still have more than three weeks before the lock and naturally the character of the forum and the usual norms are starting to break down.
Why start discussions when you only have 22 days to have them?
I started watching traffic stats on BSN Prime and other groups.
This forum seems to have lost around 20% over the last week.
Others are growing at variable rates but even the biggest is pulling only 20% of the number that come here, so far.
the last week will be interesting, because whilst I don't encourage it personally, I can anticipate some 'destruction of the Kirkwall Chantry' moments.
Those last hours inb4 the lock will be, er, fascinating.

True I just really had to get that off my chest. It's ridiculous.
But yeah I'm gonna miss these boards. Reddit is not going to be the same (though when BW finally manages to ****** off reddit it'll be a site to behold).
Let's crank it up another notch shall we? [Mordin betrayal]

I do wonder what will happen with Bioware after the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda. Will we see the Edmonton office close, with the Bioware in name only Austin office remaining only to futilely try to maintain the inevitable dwindling population of The Old Republic?
EA own the Mass Effect and Dragon Age IPs, they don't need to keep what remains of the old Bioware around in order to make future games in those universes.

Like I said upthread, if they were going to close Edmonton wouldn't they have done it already? ME:A's being worked on mostly in Montreal last I checked.
Missed that. Cheers for the info AlanC9.
