4chan ? :D  Wouldn't that one be like a suicide for them to suggest anybody to visit 4chan's DAG or MEG ?
I don't think any employee of BioWare even goes there, they must avoid this place as it was radioactive.

meg and dag are fine. They're full of windowlickers yeah, but there's nothing really worse than the average BSN section these days.

Your statement sounded for me like BioWare is getting little paranoid too much. It does sound bad to me ... I start to wonder what are the real limits here on this dying forum.

Well, picture this: Bioware employees blocking users on Twitter because some of them voiced their discontent with Andromeda.

What will these people do with the limitless freeedom provided by the internet?

Imagine a mob consisting of hundreds of egg accounts, all created in a few minutes, plaguing the devs on Twitter...

Yep. I can tell you some more if you'd like.
*snip*
Liara crawling around the vents on Mars. It serves a purpose. You just came from Earth, where Starbrat disappeared into a vent. This was BW telling the player "yes, we understand that moving around in vents is noisy as hell." Yet he disappeared without a sound. Huh.

I always found that interesting too, especially since it's in the next mission and everything's still swimming around your head. But even without that, the actual scene with the kid points out how odd it is itself, by having Shepard be confused about how he suddenly disappeared because Anderson starts talking. Good old Anderson. It's no wonder people came to the conclusion he was never real a year before it was even released, from that demo footage.

Ah, this brings back memories...

Well I already suggested that they should closed Twitter, Reddit, YouTube and Tumblr accounts and just keeps this forum.

I really can't understand their decision even if I really TRY to understand and find any logic here.

They are not making their life easier by doing this.

The way around this nightmare is easy. Blocking isn't the answer. Nor muting.

Just don't answer the angry fans directly and prepare a polite and explanatory public statement to all of the fanbase not to justify the poor quality of the product, but a thank you for the constant feedback and a promise that all the problems pointed out by the players will be analyzed by the dev team. Also, create an account devoted for receiving feedback from the players, sparing them having to deal with the players themselves.

That's how you communicate with the fanbase and placate an angry mob. They have to show they're professionals. Simple.

Yep. I can tell you some more if you'd like.

AFAIK, I'm the only one that's noticed this because I've never been able to find it mentioned anywhere. Ridiculously obscure lore error. In LoTSB, Thane's dossier mentions that his preferred method of killing krogan involves snapping their neck. But they don't have a spine. In the Revelations novel, Karpyshyn talks about krogan anatomy briefly and he mentions that impulses sent in the central nervous system for most species is sent in the blood supply for krogan. Any paralyzation has to come from blood loss and even then it's temporary since they'll regenerate the blood quickly.

You know Javik's line when discussing what it'll take to beat the Reapers? The one about the ashes of a trillion dead souls. I could be wrong, but IMO... I think it's subtext from the devs. "Does this unit have a soul?" They're almost certainly the only species that numbers in the trillions because each geth is hundreds of programs, they wonder about whether they have a soul, and you need to kill them to stop the Reapers.

The control ending is referred to in the game's internal files as "End_Choice_BadA". I don't know why this isn't brought up more often in argument about the ending.

Jack's tattoos seem ridiculous? Turns out, it's realistic. Kind of. Abuse and rape victims often get a lot of tattoos because they're subconsciously trying to reassert control of their body.

You know how there's the Freudian analysis about how we build things that are shaped like penises because subconsciously apparently it's all we think about? The Washington Monument, for instance? ... Take a look at an asari dreadnought and tell me what you see.

Adjutants, those things on Omega. The codex talks about how the end form doesn't look like any known species and they must be some species the Reapers wiped out long ago. Take a look at an adjutant, now take a look at the statues on Ilos. The species they're based off is the Prothean's Protheans: the Isunannon.

The Heretic Station in ME2? Matriarch Benezia's hat.

When Aria is killing General Petrovsky, her eyes turn black momentarily. This spawned the theory that she's an ardat-yakshi because their eyes turn black when killing also. But the truth is much simpler and kind of messed up. Their eyes also turn black during the mind meld thing, right? Which is the asari equivilent of sex. Aria's eyes went black because she enjoyed killing him so much that, in human terms, she had an orgasm.

Liara crawling around the vents on Mars. It serves a purpose. You just came from Earth, where Starbrat disappeared into a vent. This was BW telling the player "yes, we understand that moving around in vents is noisy as hell." Yet he disappeared without a sound. Huh.

In Grunt's LoTSB dossier, you find out he's a big fan of Hemingway. But he deleted one book while he kept the others. Strange. Actually, that book involves a stillbirth. Kind of a touchy subject for krogan.

Thanks, lots of interesting stuff and speculation to think about. Now what would Freud have to say about all the times in game we ended up, for example, looking at Miranda's Ass whether we wanted to or not...

What's funny is that I'm one of those boring people who never even received a warning from a teacher irl.

And now here I am, with 5 warning points for being too funny.

They do understand that if they block or mute users, they'll just make people become more hostile toward them? Until the crowd is impossible to control?

It's basic psychology.

Sshhh... we do not speak of this. 'Tis a forbidden subject.

Now that is interesting. I hadn't heard about this either. I wonder if they were planning a follow up mission that was cut due to lack of time?

No. First, we've heard about a ton of cut missions and nothing about that planet. But more importantly, there's nothing more to be done. The fact that it only happens if you did the mine mission in 2 means that whatever the blinking is, it's because of Shepard going into that abandoned mine and burying the Reaper artifact. There's no reason you'd want to go get an indoctrination artifact, and it's buried so it's not going to be indoctrinating anyone new. The only reasonable explanation is the one I gave.

Here is a list of forum-based Mass Effect guides from the last ~6 years that BioWare wants to nuke:

https://forum.biowar...d-on-the-forum/

Here's my latest tinfoil theory: not only is shutting down the forums a peremptory marketing decision for MEA, it's also a subtle method of discouraging people to play the original trilogy and instead buy MEA. Having easy access to mods, build guides, bug fixes and the like increases replayability of a game. Replayability means playing a game one has already purchased rather than buying new games, and in the case of ME1 and ME2 there wouldn't even be any MP microtransactions. So by not even leaving the boards as read only indefinitely, Bio is pushing people away from the old games, hoping that everyone will gravitate to the new one.

I like how they say cons around the world but never leave North America. I wish Bioware would use Amazon for their clothing stuff. If I wanted socks, the shipping costs more than the socks are worth.

I wanted to spend this summer lurking around the ME:A section and DA:I forums not on one large thread commiserating the end of this Library. Although I suppose on the plus side it's brought all the high count posters to this thread, the nearest thing we have to celebrities

I just wanted to let you know that I actually clicked on your signature expecting to actually get to a Thane mod. I could use some hope, well, and some Thane.

Glad to hear it!

TMv2 is about 2 years old at this point, but v3.0 is currently under way and is being completely rebuilt from the ground up. Even folks not interested in saving Thane might end up wanting to use v3.0.

If you're interested in ThaneMOD, then you'll likely also be interested in BackOff and ME3Recalibrated. All on Nexus :)

Their only making it harder.

That one is obvious. I really can't understand it. It's like trying to make people angry on purpose. What happened ?

Didn't they remembered what happened where people were pissed off on them back at 2012 ? Does they want a repeat of some sort ?

And seriously I already saw their comment section on Facebook swarmed with angry responses from gamers.

It's like they can't even keep it up with them to read/reply to them. Not that they would care to do so ... they don't care about people here enough already - what sort of caring would they have on those accounts ?

Anyway since BSN was last resource of any good information about their games, I must ask - was there anything regarding DA 4 lately ?

Like any confirm that they actually doing it ?

All what I seen was scraps from Andromeda, which are only interest to me because once Andromeda got released they will move forword to DA 4 (I hope).

Edmonton is helping with ME:A and making Secret IP nothing confirmed for DA4 yet.

Somehow I can't believe in anything good regarding Andromeda. I just can't.

And visits on MEG didn't help this either for sure - I cannot take out from my head this Asari-Shrek now.

That secret IP ... I thought it's bollocks. They still claim that they have some new IP ? Really ?

No confirm about DA 4 ... what is the meaning of this ? Acting like Bethesda on "Fallout" 4 ? They also have waited very long instead of selling off rights to franchise.

I don't expect BioWare to sell DA, but surely they should at least let people know that they actually plan to do something regarding franchise and not let it end on cliff hanger.

Actually I blame this one of them trying to rewrite that they intended for Shepard to die there in first version of stupid ending.

This is not correct. The earliest leaked versions of the ending have Shepard surviving in high-EMS Destroy too. That's in the version where the kid is still known as the GUARDIAN and none of his dialogue was written yet. Synthesis was about becoming "one with the Reapers," whatever that means.

(I guess there's still time for me to engage in ME3 design history pedantry.)

One of many reasons to miss the official forums. I lost count of the amount of times I learned stuff about the games that I had missed while playing, just from lurking here.
You can't find that on Twitter.

Welcome back. Just thought I'd mention publicly that a lot of us enjoyed your stunt the other night.

Wow.

Spoiler

That's the largest thread title I've ever seen.

I guess someone thought the "Title" box was the "Reply" box. But look at the thread title on the left of the arrow. And hey, look, it's me! I'm famous :P

Well, we'll have to see how the marketing for Andromeda treats the past games, I guess. Will it encourage us to buy them? Not ever mention them, or mention the trilogy's events in the trailers?
