Good questions.

I'm not sure, but I think PMs will not be allowed after close down. However, I do not recommend using PMs, because moderators are able to access them.

The forums will be read only until one month after closing down. They will be purged from history afterwards.

I think it is safe to assume that the same goes for the social groups.

No idea, about your other questions.

What? How are they private if they can access them? Might as well call them Open Messages... is this happening now or are you talking about after the shut-down?

Thank you for responding, but I really want the answers from Bioware - if they haven't already answered them elsewhere.  The toolset wiki, the toolset forum discussions, and the technical forum/discussions being my biggest concerns since removing them would be obliterating valuable resources.  I expect Bioware to remove them, but I can hope for a bit of sanity in the latest fiasco.

I that case, e-mail them or foster conversations in new spaces. They will most likely not be here to answer you.

All we know is in the first post of this thread.

They seem to be capable of reading this discussion and talking about avatars within the last 24 hours.

In reality, I suspect that I know the answers to these questions.  I've started duplicating everything that I want to keep but removing technical and toolset discussions hurts those who weren't just having a conversation about past/current/future Bioware games.  I expect that they don't care.

It's software. We have no idea what EA has implemented in that. However, consider this: There is a report button on each private message. So there must be a way to access conversations by the moderators to check the validity of the report. In other words they have to be able to read PMs. Due to the observed erratic behavior of the "digital engagement services" caution is advised.

Yes and now you made me sad, not Geth ... really ? It didn't killed Geth ? What the hell BioWare !?! Why didn't you stayed with this idea ? Instead you made me into doing a damn genocide becuase all other alternatives were worse !

I thought this ending in leaks were more like horror ending which I come up before relaese of ME 3. BioWare was obviously thinking the same way since they have inplanted mine horror ending anyway inside game, luckily you only heared about it, never experianced it - since it is memory of Javik from his cycle.

I doubt many people was hearing this from him anyway since .. well I think many people would role play with good answer here and avoid it.

I thought about MOAR DRAMA ending where at the end you must destroy Reapers but on your way you have to kill your entire crew who will got indocrtinated and try to kill you, while all of them being on different stages of indoctrination. Some of them trying to kill you with no regret while others begging you to kill them because they don't won't to follow what indocrination tells them to do.

Mine brother hated that idea with passion, somehow at the end it was better than original ending even for him.

I don't think what AlanC9 said is correct: in the original ending the Catalyst clearly states that ALL synthetic lives will be destroyed, that is precisely the catch of the red option.

Child: You can wipe out all synthetic life if you want. Including the Geth. Even you are partly synthetic...

I'm curious to know how much, if any, the current situation will effect people's decision on whether or not to buy new Bioware games (especially ME: Andromeda). Is there any way to set up an informal poll here for the final days?

Statistically speaking the sample size is too small for this poll since so many people don't know about the forum closing

I've seen people creating polls on a website specialized in polls and then starting a topic about it here. You may want to try that. There must be samples of such threads on BSN. Try to google "poll site:bioware.com" (remove the quotes).

This reminds me of a date night a very long time ago.

Just speaking for myself, it won't affect my decision because I'd already come to the conclusion that Bioware don't make the type of games I like to play anymore.

They definitely prioritise the shooter over the role playing genre these days, and if that makes them money then I'm happy for them, I just won't be buying those games any more.

If Mass Effect 3 had been the first in the trilogy that I had played, I seriously doubt that I would have wanted to play the previous two games.

I got a message from botmod02 saying one of my posts was removed for being off-topic. Didn't specify which one. Could literally have been any of my posts from the last few days. I don't know what the topic even is anymore, maybe botmod could enlighten us?

I do wonder why they are so strictly enforcing the off topic rule in this thread when previously they haven't bothered. If they'd had this level of activity previously then perhaps the forum wouldn't be closing in the first place. It doesn't speak well for their company and I know I'll be avoiding any place if I find out they are the moderator team.

Those who want to preserve BSN posts need to hurry, because at this rate there's nothing to preserve. :P

Edit: BTW, mousestalker? Care to listen to some music on that other site that actually has an open off-topic forum? :D

I know that I've probably purchased my last ea/bioware game.

The only reason that I purchased DAI (GOTY) was because people kept talking about it here.  I've seen nothing to indicate that I will actually like the game - too many bugs (multiple patches) and the morphs look more creepy than appealing to me.

But that reminds me - have to add to a previous message

Bioware - based on previous performance, I am preparing for the worst, but will ask to confirm

  • is private messaging being removed?
  • is the toolset wiki being removed?
  • are the projects going to be removed/unsupported?
  • could the toolset forum be left as 'read only' since some of that information was never moved to a wiki?
  • could the 'technical support' forums be left as 'read only' since that information isn't available anywhere else?
  • is Origin support going to receive more training since their current default is to suggest the forum for any questions (technical support) about DA games?
  • are groups going to be removed/become inactive?

If these questions have been answered on some other form of social media, I would appreciate it if someone could copy/paste the answers or provide a link.

And let me add -

Where will new players who buy DAO get the patches?

How will players get the official DLC?

Where will players be able to download the toolset from?

Where will the so-called support at Origin send players for answers when they don't know? (btw - a lot of us don't use the social media that is being touted as 'the answer')

yes, yes, I could send a PM, but I think EVERYONE deserves answers to all of these questions.

For 1 & 2, they will direct us to origin and, maybe (for the patches), steam.

EA has more or less given up on Steam. After the DA2 fiasco, they basically abdicated the site. It's what led to Origin's rebranding in the first place.
