mwhahaaaa i feel the need to brag right now... I finished my piano transcription for Fate of the Galaxy in 4 days. going to admit that I didn't expect to finish a song before the BW forums close (I'll upload the sheets soon... probably), but I kinda cheated by switching from the current projects I was working on (Aralakh Company and I'm Sorry). trying to balance DA then ME songs.

As to not be off topic... I still think that this decision is terrible and this injustice demands something ranty!

I'm Sorry that BW feels like their forums are A Very Dangerous Place.

Fatal Confrontations may occur here, yet in this space,

We have had long discussions about Pursuing Saren and destroying The Collector Base

Alas now we Humans Are Disappearing from this place

Escorted away by a Cerberus Agent without the chance to present our case

In The Cerberus Plot that could only be concocted by EA

At least we can take a Shuttle Ride to other forums, eh?

Discovering New Worlds as we play,

A Legion of us however may choose to stay,

Though Defeat is an option if choosing to keep away

To the dedicated players who aim to help in Delivering the Cure to those of us

We are grateful in your efforts to remember everything from the last of us

While devs now Exit stage left, choosing not to hear us

You are in undoubtedly some of the best of us

Determined for a Resolution that will help us

Creating an Uplink is no small task

As the Fate of the Galaxy hangs from the edge of a flask

All because of this decision from a pyjack

We have little time for this Final Conversation as we wait for the fall of the axe

...And because of this, I think some of us may hold a Vigil at the next Pax

i swear. I really hate rhyming lmao and got lazy with 'us.' didn't even mean for it to get so long but i wanted to use Vigil since it's definitely one of my favourite ME songs. Also... I've never been to Pax lol.  i might do a dragon age rhyming rant later?

Edit: i added a fifth line to all the verses lol. it's all perry the pyjack's fault!

Wait, what?

The implication being made there is that the forums are being wrecked so that Bioware can tout how many more followers and such they have on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, etc etc with people here joining those sites and following Bioware there since they can do no such thing here.

Even though many here already follow them on said sites. We're here because this is the only place to have these conversations, making the "logic" of, "We want to foster these conversations elsewhere" completely asinine and illogical when a year ago they told us "We want to foster these conversations here".

This is still dumb.

Wait, what?

They were actually talking about Twitter followers, sorry for the confusion.

But nah, obviously they didn't shut down the forums in order to gain more Twitter followers. But seeing Conal get credit as the community manager for their social media efforts, and seeing what passed for 'outreach' here in the past couple years, kinda sums up the problems here in one tweet. Who on these forums aside from OTers who got nixed a year ago even knew Conal was community manager?

If you don't bother to manage the community, you'll get an unmanaged community.

The way you put it makes me feel so bitter.

Do they even ****** care? Could they at least wait for a bit before they start patting each other on the back for all to see.

Another thing is this stuff is broken in the present time, like you know... nowish.

I think people are like "it's fine" because EA has like an 8 zillion dollar revenue or whatever, but the issue was what Bio gave was something that didn't have monetary value, it went beyond monetary value, as such it can't just be fixed purely by money, it has to be fixed with something beyond that.

The truth is if EA gave the entirety of that revenue to their hardest of hardcore fans, it would not be sufficient compensation.

But every day the situation, well, every second, really, only compounds sin upon sin, and aggravates the situation, time is of the essence, life is happening, people are moving, people need a place, people need connection.

Just saying.

Dear Bioware
Your silence speaks volumes....
I am so sorry you cannot see what a wonderful community you have built here. I am so sorry that you have evidently chosen to focus on the small percentage of crazies and not the majority. I am so sorry you have chosen to forsake your fans, and punish us all for the sins of a few. I am sorry you have not read and enjoyed some of the brilliant commentary and vibrant discussion. I am sorry that your fans weren't good enough for you. I am sorry that you felt you had to do your fans a huge disservice and shut down your community. I am sorry that my enthusiasm for your games has diminished. I am sorry that even though you do not know me that you have chosen to treat me with disdain and disrespect. I wish I knew why.

It's somewhat exciting to see the end of these forums. Having been here on and off for a few years, mostly as an observer, I've seen a few things. Some good, a few very bad. Mass Effect kept me here; not the fans who were mostly all dispensable and easily replaced with another name and avatar who would speak and act out the same as thousands of others. It was fun enough at the time to read the theories or jokes, get some news, and mess around a bit.

I was thinking back to what first got me to post. Had to look into my post history but it was the thought of suggesting more melee attacks for ME3 that brought me here. I tiptoed around and read a few other threads and posted on them first but it was making that suggestion which was the first motivation. During that time of looking around I found the original music thread. Music posts by Adriano87, JRCHOharry(one of the best and most underappreciated music posters imo), Yoko, and 9985 caught my attention. But it was Dark Lilith's music and presence that really attracted me.

With the chaos and anger going on the forums at the time related to DAII I made my first post to the music thread, which was picked up by some. A connection was made and an idea was formed and from that idea an experience that continued for years that is too rich and sublime to share.

As the world changes and develops, so do some people and it's time to move on and I'm glad the Gate to that Idea and the life of that garden are to be demolished in a digital cataclysm. It suits the story perfectly. It makes me happy, joyous, ecstatic. EVOE!!!!!!

And Parsifal can continue on his Fool's errand.

The job of Conal Pierse in the BSN is to appear once in a year to deliver the bad news and never show up again.

Maybe it's not his fault but just by reading his name i get triggered.

Edit: He's not gonna do it anymore, now we live in the happy land called Twitter!

Not everyone can be a special assembly line snowflake with a single modus operandi as yourself. Cut the mortals some slack.
