The only thing annoying me about the forums closing is that old argument of "the BioWare forums are toxic" still being trod out by people who believe it because some cranky dev/writer gave it as reason to end discussions. People repeat it and blame the users for the forum closing, as if it's their fault that BioWare has done very little here in the past 4+ years.
Compared to other similiar forums this one has always been civil and polite. Yes, there were some posters who threatened the devs over controversies like DA2 or ME3. But... unlike other incidents known to us from other sites... they didn't -actually- threaten people. There was no "Hey, I know your home address and what car you drive" or "That's a cute pet you've got there, would be a shame if something happened to it." The truly nasty things never happened here. That doesn't mean what people did in response to a game was in any way okay but the actions of a few didn't turn the entire forum toxic.
Maybe the discussions in here didn't meet the personal standard of someone with a fragile mind and if you already faint from a single f-bomb then maybe the internet, no... public life... isn't for you. "Profanities" happen. Get over it, there are worse things in life. There are worse things people could do to each other here without once violating the forum rules or using a single "profanity". Such a silly word and so misused. It's a profanity to use God's name in vain. Simple insults, swearing, cursing etc... aren't profanities. A certain biblical scholar should know that.
Yeah, I get it. I used to be a BioWare fan, too. Being a fan doesn't mean that you have to blindly agree with everything they do, it doesn't mean you can't criticize, it doesn't mean you have to be always on their side no matter what they do. Being a fan means being a friend, and sometimes friends need to tell friends when they screwed up.
@Bryan: Any idea what management will call the new iteration of the forum when they open it again for ME:A? It'll happen, the only surprise will be the creative explanation to justify their actions.
