I have a "unifying theory", that would suggest that the person in question might be (or might have been) employed in a managerial position:

I've observed one thing, that virtually all managers have in common: when a fact suits me, I'll throw it in your face, when it doesn't suit me, it doesn't exist. And I'm the boss, so I'm right and you are wrong.

I have a theory that folks generally base other's behavior on their own. And based on posts I have observed recently, am guessing these are coming from one experienced in Rear management....

Of course you would say you are serene but your feelings weren't the point. None the less, this claimed serenity is not what you are showing between the lines. The stress appears in the cracks of your need to attack me personally. On more than just this occasion. No doubt you and your clique will be able to justify this to yourselves. To put it simply: You. Are. Toxic.
And a good example of how that toxicity is validated and promoted by the 'likes' this post of yours garnered from others similarly toxic.

There is no gloating on my part for the demise of this place. My pleasure is coming from the demise of this place as a playground for the toxic people of this forum who are going to have to feast on themselves rather than on an audience supplied by BioWare/EA.

Something just occurred to me. Two things prompted this little outpouring.

Apropos of nothing, one poster saw fit to casually insult everyone here. Out of dozens of other subtly mean-spirited, passive aggressive, condescending put-downs, this post of theirs cannot be read or interpreted in any other way. It was intended as an insult, and unprompted by anything else. And I suspect the only reason this insulting post wasn't deleted was because whoever saw it couldn't be bothered to look up the twelve dollar words used in it.

Another poster saw this inappropriate, insulting post, thought it was in poor taste, and made a snarky comment on it. I'll let folks judge the relative "toxicity" of these two actions for themselves.

I just want to leave it with this thought - if parking your high horse in this mourning thread and broadcasting your contempt for everyone here who's unhappy about this forum's closure seems like a good use of your time, then maybe you. Are. Toxic.

Happy festivus, people.

All those people who sported the Shepard Deserves Better Fans banners and insulted everyone who didn't love the ending didn't consider themselves toxic, because BioWare fans can't be toxic, obviously. If BioWare said Twitter is a better place than BSN, then it must be. You just can't accept change, you entitled hater.

Also, we need a Toxic jar, whenever someone posts the word 'toxic', you put a dollar in it.

I'm already 4 bucks short.

I've noticed that many users who signed up on your site, haven't posted in the above BSN thread to sync their accounts. There is little time left.

It's so tempting to me to get my posts back (I probably have several novel's worth over the last 6 years) but for me I just want it all to be gone and I want to be done with BioWare (the only game of theirs I still play is SWtOR). Joining one of those forums will put me back into that vicious cycle of "well I didn't like their newest game or the one before that, or the one before that, but I'm sure there is hope for the NEXT game...right?" I'll be encouraged and hyped by the rest of the people talking about that upcoming game and end up buying it, being let down, and starting the cycle all over again. :(

In the meantime (we have to do something constructive during the closing events) the research continues. BansheeOwnage's creative drawing, posted earlier in this thread, could have been the final piece in a plothole free theory of the ME3 ending. This is serious stuff. We hope to have results before the closing of the forums and are working day and night on it. Flycam screenshots already show promising results.

Cut them people some slack. Not everyone is proficient with intergalactic mechanics. However love - that is something most know something about and so they talk about that instead. :wizard:

People talk about romance a little too much over here. There's a point where it gets ridiculous, and it wears on those who have to see it when searching for something else to talk about. Thats why so many people here got annoyed with it, why it had its own subforums(the character ones) and why people were worried when those subforums were closed.

Example of what I'm talking about away from Bioware- The ABC show Once Upon A Time? Its social media fans are annoying. There will be a tweet that has ZERO to do with anything love/romance related, it'll be a tweet like, "Today is Robert Carlyle's Birthday! Lets wish him a happy one!" and all the tweets in response to it will be the names of ships between characters that people put together like Swanqueen or whatever else. That don't even include the character he plays.

It feels like that here. Maybe not that mind numbing, but it reaaaaally gets grating. It gets to the point where you want people to talk about literally anything else.

Problem is, Bioware didn't give us anything to talk about(regarding Andromeda). So what can you do? I regularly talked with other BSNers here and in other places and we all acknowledged that the Andromeda section was an echo chamber of the same stuff over and over again because there was nothing to go on about.

I just wish there was a point where that forum would be self-aware and realize to dial it down a bit instead of having the whole place come crumbling down for it to actually stop.

If you cut out all the threads made just to complain about people talking too much about romances or make a troll request as a more passive aggressive form of protest, then the amount of romance discussion probably would not be that bad.

Well, this is going to be the end for me as well. I would have liked to see this through to the forum's end but I'm leaving on vacation today and won't be back till the site has gone read only.
I wish everybody all the best. Although I only started posting after DA2 came out and was already disappointed with Bioware on multiple fronts, I've had a lot of fun here and read a lot of interesting, entertaining or just silly threads. I made an account on fextra and had it synched, but I don't know if I will resume posting there. DAO was my first rpg and I will always adore it, just as will probably always adore the companions in DA2, but the overall drop in quality and sheer drive in creating something great is obvious and DAI did nothing for me on any front. So I think I'm more likely to move on to CDPR's boards, if any.
Still, Bioware games inspired me to start writing fan fiction, and although to some that might just mean they made me crazy (crazier) that is an experience I don't regret for a second. I learned a lot, especially about writing in English both here and for my stories.

So, this turned into a kind of rambly post with not much point, but I just want to say everybody goodbye. Happy gaming, everyone! Enjoy summer while it lasts.
And Bioware, you suck and I didn't like you anymore anyway.

Gonna miss you and your contributions. Enjoy vacation! Hopefully see you somewhere else!

By the way, I just finished Act 1 of DA2.

Holy Christ, the game is broken. Armor pieces not showing up correctly on companions, at least one instance where I backstabbed into the map itself and briefly saw the bottom of the gameworld, and a bunch of quests (both in the main game and DLC) being bugged out.

Why I'm pushing myself to continue this is beyond me.

Have you searched the DA2 forums for answers? I know, I know, that sounds like I'm being sarcastic. Under the circumstances, I think any such suggestion is going to have the flavor of sarcasm . . . just as Orlesian ham 'tastes of despair'. I am serious, though. While the threads are available you should poke around.

The first time I played DA2 I was very disappointed. I liked the banter and loved Varric so decided to play enough to get the achievements and play different sides. With the addition of Legacy, I enjoy it much more now than I did the first time. Origins is still first in my heart.

I don't know about any Sebastien bug, but I never waited until Act II to start his storyline. Maybe that has issues, idk.

Some might disagree that constructive criticism on a project of the scope of a BioWare game or all the more so on something as simple as a human being couldn't be encapsulated in 140 characters or less but I would tend to agree with you. Yet, while I may agree with the spirit of what you're saying for it would make for an ideal forum environment for BioWare to support. In actuality the forum seems to find a different expression.

Spoiler

As a final note to this, I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to reply to me in the manner you did.

I 'spoilered' part of your reply in order to take up less visual space. It seemed more polite since I, in essence, wanted to tell you that I appreciated the courteousness of your response.

In fact, there are many posters who are amusing, thoughtful, passionate, even argumentative whose posts I enjoy even when I disagree. I appreciate them, from pithy one-liners to dissertations, because they don't resort to name-calling, insults, trollish behaviour, etc. I 'hear' them. You know, I have posted more often in the past month than the past year (not counting fanfic). My not so hidden lurker-self doesn't even like to use the like button too often (something else I've done more of recently).

Hmmm, that first sentence sounds like an off topic subject - 'Snipping or spoiler tags, which is more polite?' Or maybe it doesn't, I never went there and now I regret not visiting at least once.

"Brevity is the soul of wit." Good thing I'm not a stand-up comedian, it would take me two hours to reach the first punchline. I'm going to post this now before I ramble even more.

Maybe. The site of my choice also offers other RPG games. And it allows in-depth discussions using (sub) forums, wikis and blogs. Fexelea just came back from GamesCom 2016 in Germany where she had interviews with a dozen studios. Depending on the interest on her site that may open up new forums and wikis. I like that approach. It's dynamic and not static like the forums of a single developer. It's an established site that works like that for a long time now.

And there were some serious interviews there, like this picture made by her shows:

Your Fandom Is Not My Fandom.

YFINMF. It's an acronym worth remembering. The things that interest you about Mass Effect are not the things that interest me about Dragon Age. yet here we are, in the Last Days (did that sound apocalyptic or what?).

If you want to have only discussions about one particular aspect of a game series, this would be the perfect time to start a messageboard devoted to that and only that. You probably could get permission to have a sub forum on one of the existing refugee sites.

Suggested sample title: "He Man Combat Only Mass Effect Discussions. No Kissing Allowed" :kissing:

I don't have anything against the romance or other character fan threads. I don't participate in it, but I let them be. Some people seem to like that stuff. To believe that it is sub par to other topics, or that the motivations to participate in these are inferior in some way, feel like an elitist view. Live and let live.

My favourite aspect of Mass Effect is the elcor Hamlet, I propose we make a thread where we turn every Shakespeare play into the truest, elcor version.

I'm running this on a desktop with a GTX 980 I picked up about seven months ago. Runs like garbage during big battles.

Funny. I had no problems on a dual -core Athlon with a 6670. Actually, DA2 ran on that rig better than DA:O did (DA:O had terrible memory management, and since this rig was 3GB/Vista, it kept coming up short.)

Can't speak to Sebastian quest bugs since I never bought DLC.
