Not to say I've been earnestly trying the whole time- kinda gave up trying to say anything persuasive with the total lack of substantive response from Conal in the OT closure thread- but still, seeing how little they care about feedback from the specific fans these decisions affect, is a bit sad.

I sent this in a PM yesterday, but as it's relevant to many interests, I'm gonna post here too in hopes that one of you sees it and can answer.
When forum posting is suspended this weekend, what will happen? We we still be able to log in to search and view the sites, or will we be completely locked out of everything, as is the case during a suspension?
I have lots of my own content that I'd like to review and save, and I won't have the time to finish doing this before the end of the week. I was hoping I'd be able to do this at my leisure over the next couple of months before the whole thing goes dark. If we don't have the tools available to search our own post histories and groups, doing this will be nigh impossible. I can't imagine I am the only person here who is concerned with this.
Can someone please chime in to let us know if we'll be able to search and interact with the forum as usual even after posting is locked?

I find I can't peel myself away. It's like watching my home burn down; I can't walk away from the fire until it's over. Overly dramatic? Absolutely. Still, that's sort of where I sit, determined to see it through to the end.I'm just happy to know some of us loved this place enough to still be around for its final hours.

Suffice it to say that I'll really miss all of you guys, both those here now and those long since departed. I've been around since 2004, having lost my original account and reopened this one in 2010. I've never been a prolific poster. I come and go as life allows and demands, and as the games move me; but it's always been great knowing you guys would be here when I got the urge to talk BioWare gaming. As I came and went, some names would change, and a very few would be the same throughout the eras. 
I remember when Bioware was my favorite game developer, ...now I have no words for the disappointment and sick feeling I have at this point. I will miss this place and all the forum reading I have done here, hours of time reading from other fans about their experiences and/or info shared on gameplay, etc. But now that will be nothing but a memory. XOXO to all the great posters here. And to Bioware, well i don't think this is the Bioware i feel in love with years ago, so I really don't know what to say...

It's harmful to us, but that's not Bio's problem.
I still don't buy this. Best case scenario, being the sole major developer without an officially supported platform for discussing their games is terra incognita - standard corporate conservatism should preclude that. But I feel like common sense would dictate that the absence of a discussion forum a bad thing for them.
At any time, they could have taken a stronger interest here, and actually made an effort to direct the conversation. I think it would have prevented or ameliorated nearly all of the problems that are (we justifiably assume) prompting this decision. But they ignored the forum, relegated all oversight to a thoroughly disinterested third party, and acted surprised when the forum noticed that back.
Closing it is just gonna make it Streisand out of control. The people who are the most disappointed are the people who are active online, and they're spreading bad vibes about this move already. It's not gonna get better.
I also sent many suggestions to Bioware about how to improve the forum but to no fruition. I hate that I tried and it led to nothing.
I also hate how much I committed to this place only for it to go up in smoke.
Feels like the ME3 ending in a way. Commit so much only for it to end in...that.

That's really great. I'm so glad that there are people in the community who *do* care about all the history here... (as opposed to Bioware, who sadly don't seem to care anymore)

I'm not ready to say goodbye either. When The Lobby was closed a lot of people bailed from the forum and I was still here trying to convince Bioware to change their mind and actually fix something instead of just ending it, which of course led to nothing naturally.
I imagine there won't even be a goodbye post from me on this site. I'll just post as usual until I can't anymore.

What gets me is where are all the Bioware employees that used to post here? Not talking about Allan, Jesse, Barrett, etc etc. Talking about the rest. Those that used to post here back in the day but stopped pretty much entirely.
The place is going down, some folks they used to pleasantly interact with are still here, and I figured now if any would be the perfect time to show up, maybe say goodbye, perhaps post a hope that we'll reconnect on one of the sites they actually like to use.
