Not saying that but I am saying we need the show then how important The forms are to the fans and how we will not give up and to save them

If what Fexelea, Cyonan, and the older splinter communities have accomplished doesn't get that message across, nothing will.

We shouldn't even have the doing this in the first place because someone doesn't want to hear negative things or want to save money or use excuse of other social media outlets doesn't mean they have to shut down this forum

That's exactly what Fexelea, Cyonan and many, many others have been doing with all of their hard work in making other amazing homes for us. There are now other places to continue the conversations. I think it's time you check out the other forums, friend. This one is finished.

In contrast, the traffic is steady and conversation lively at http://bsn.boards.net.

Likewise, Fexelea is hard at work saving the threads BioWare is soon to erase. You can find these threads at http://fextralife.com/forums/f95/.

Edit: Haha. Ninja'd. Time to bite the bullet and sign-on with a new home clone wars.

I understand the urge not to give up

Spoiler

But it's their playpen, their toys.

Spoiler

It's time to move on. It's a sad necessity, but there we are.

That's the important thing, we are in this together. And that is something Bioware, the ModSquad nor EA can not take away.

Conal/Jesse/Bryan/Allan/whoever might be reading,

I sent this in a PM yesterday, but as it's relevant to many interests, I'm gonna post here too in hopes that one of you sees it and can answer.

When forum posting is suspended this weekend, what will happen? We we still be able to log in to search and view the sites, or will we be completely locked out of everything, as is the case during a suspension?

I have lots of my own content that I'd like to review and save, and I won't have the time to finish doing this before the end of the week. I was hoping I'd be able to do this at my leisure over the next couple of months before the whole thing goes dark. If we don't have the tools available to search our own post histories and groups, doing this will be nigh impossible. I can't imagine I am the only person here who is concerned with this.

Can someone please chime in to let us know if we'll be able to search and interact with the forum as usual even after posting is locked?

Thanks.

For anyone else who was concerned about this - here's the answer:

Hey there, you will still be able to access your account and view your history, but you will not be able to make any changes to posts.

Small but welcome blessings.

So, will this be the first big company around that don't have a discussion forum?

This is all so fishy. I honestly think EA is preparing to dissolve BioWare.

I still think we should not give up we shouldn't wave the white flag and surrender we should continue trying and save the forums period

After Bioware closed Feedback section and then Off-topic that many were strongly against, but despite their effort Bioware didn't budge.. I don't simply think people have faith that Bioware would listen to them and change their mind according fandoms wishes. Sometimes, it's best to let go than try your hardest to make someone change their mind who doesn't really care enough to even consider.

I shouldn't feel it but I am so sad right now. It is true- you cannot see what really matters to you until you lost it.

I don't want to think so, but it makes more sense than the notion that someone actually thought this was a good idea.

Well... Neither the countries I lived has a big community of games, some people play video games... but they don't go in forums to discuss, well, not in this scale. Video games it's a very small niche, sad, but it's true. There is a lot of reasons for this.
For this fact, I had to search places to exchange information, then, I found Bioware forums in 2010? or something. Not only Bioware forums, but another ones, through I became to read Bioware forums more for some reason, I don't know why.

When I created my account here, I meeted some people for America, Canada, Thailand, Finland... well, it was very interesting see they vision based in a different culture of mine. Through I read more than I post, most of this because of my bad english, I really like the forums, it's a very good community, some times... angry community, but in a overall, it's very good.

Panda has said: It's not like every fan can visit all those places, world is a big place and Bioware surely hasn't came nor is coming to my country.

For sure. Neither mine.

Besides, the whole point of this forum is to talk about Bioware games with Bioware fans, not only with devs, if someone has ever spoke with them.

Resquiescat in Pace, we will miss you :/

It's still coming. They're just gonna make you squirm for a little longer.

It's seriously a reflex for me. Log in, coffee, email, BSN.

Okay, Bioware was awesome, but now it's like they just don't care. It's rare in my country to see anything about dragon age and mass effect and I doubt that Bioware will ever come here. It's not like Brazil sucks, tho... But Bioware does for doing that.

I will admit that for years I avoided these forums because of the toxic reputation it had.  That's all anyone ever had to say about the BioWare forum community.  The lead up to Inquisition was finally when I saw the truth for myself.  That aside from certain threads and posters, majority of the community were the complete opposite of that reputation.  I'm inactive or lurking more often than I post, but the places where I participated were greatly enjoyable experiences.  And I will echo what has been brought up numerous times; when I had a bug or something I was stuck on, these forums were always where I found a solution.  It's insane to me that after October all of that will be gone.  (Thank goodness for the hard work of those that saved as much of these forums as they could.)

People that weren't a part of this place might not 'get it' as to why this forum closure has soured how we feel about their games and BioWare as a company.  Especially those that had bad experiences here.  Even though I wasn't super active, this decision has stifled a lot of the passion I had for games that were once my favorites, games that I replayed to the point that I have probably close to 1200 hours played time for Mass Effect series alone.  I've lost a lot of the excitement I had for Andromeda.  I dunno, it's a crap feeling that developers I put on a pedestal for so long have basically decided that the community doesn't matter.  I could understand closing the forums back in the DA2 and ME3 era, that was a lot of uhhhhh bad vibes back then.  But now?  I just don't understand.  There's always going to be criticism and people that just don't like the game no matter what.  Inquisition was well received, and not just by BioDrones.  The healthy community it fostered was special.  Go look at the Solas thread if you want proof of that.

I've lost faith.  I know that the people writing and making the games have nothing to do with this decision.  I'll always be appreciative of the love and care they put into the games they make for us to obsess over.  Those that have said that they think BioWare made the right decision in closing the forums seemed to imply that this would be more commonplace with other companies, but I just can't see it.  (I know I said previously elsewhere that I agreed with that, but taking time to mull it over, I was wrong.)  I can't think of any other developer/publisher that has either shut down their forums, or never had any to begin with.

I wasn't going to say anything in this thread since I had expressed my disappointment elsewhere.  But it's coming down to the last few hours and even though I am not saying anything that hasn't been said over and over again by so many others... I figured I'd toss in my 2 copper anyways.  Going to miss this place.   Grateful we have new homes to go to, so thank you for those that worked so quickly to figure something out for the community.  I probably won't be very active anywhere for the forseeable future because this has just so utterly soured me on talking anything BioWare.  Much love to all of you that made coming here such a joy.

As a friend of mine said recently "EA own the IP. They don't need Bioware to make Mass Effect or Dragon Age games."

as long uBSN is still around. it will always be home to some community members from BSN prime. it doesn't matter if a community forum like cBSN has traffic or not. each community forum is unique to their own. it's up to us to decide and join the forum of their choice, or join many more as well. :)

You apparently have until October, since we'll still be able to log in until then. We just can't post after tomorrow.
