Since we're on our way out the door, now's the time to get this out: Elhanan's the type of poster who thinks that as long as you don't swear, you can make any passive-aggressive comment/argument and pass it off as a mature. It's a kind of deception that confuses a lack of swearing with intelligence. For a typical example, see most of his insane responses in the Bioware foul language threads. 

As someone who isn't a fan of swearing (excessively anyway), I have to say you're completely right about Elhanan.

 

Well, closing these forums results in at least one good thing: We no longer have to put up with Elhanan, because competent mods would shut his behaviour down hard.

I shouldn't feel it but I am so sad right now. It is true- you cannot see what really matters to you until you lost it.

It's frustrating because people carved niches for themselves here. They want to say goodbye to the people they interacted with most frequently in the places they spent the most time. Not some random thread on a board they've never visited. That's why all these goodbye posts are on topic and relevant, and why they really shouldn't be summarily locking them.

I believe the first time I'd ever even visited the Forum/Help board was for this very thread.

All I have to say about that is you're exactly right, and that I haven't visited the help forums before now either.

 

One of my favourite ME soundtracks. And it was in the credits, so it's even appropriate.

 

I remember listening to it for the first time. It made me feel so... epic. 

 

One of the best scores for one of the best endings in video game history. It's too bad this end feels like the polar opposite.

 

After Bioware closed Feedback section and then Off-topic that many were strongly against, but despite their effort Bioware didn't budge.. I don't simply think people have faith that Bioware would listen to them and change their mind according fandoms wishes. Sometimes, it's best to let go than try your hardest to make someone change their mind who doesn't really care enough to even consider.

I remember when they effectively closed the feedback section, too, which hasn't been mentioned enough. I thought it was pathetic then, I think it's pathetic now. Even more, after everything else that's happened.

Gotcha. Already has all the community commitment one person can handle. I've only just begun to put together the pieces, so to speak, regarding some of the things my fellows here do beyond the BSN. I didn't know about the splinter sites already in existence until July 30. This last month has been eye-opening, and I've met a lot of great new people with whom I'd never had the chance to interact, previously.

Like I said in the goodbye post, this place is a bit unfamiliar to me now. I had all but stopped posting here anyway until they announced the shutdown.

But what crusty said. I didn't say I wouldn't be on any forum, just not the full BSN replacements. I'll stick to my dusty OT splinter forum.

Though I wouldn't say being admin is particularly busy. They could easily do it without me at this point.
