I can't say I ever bought more than one copy, or at least never bought a second copy while I had a functional first.

I got my original copy of Mass Effect for free on release day. I'd won a very nice poker set as an employee award, but I don't play poker. A boss knew this and we negotiated a swap: I got to store expense a copy of Mass Effect at release, and he got to keep the poker set. I tend to forget that story.

Sounds like a fair swap to me.

I would have done the same. I start smiling when I get a good hand, so am terrible at poker.

I hope Solas and Holo-Pearl got some sleep. Some of the more foolish people here never left the thread, or at least never got any sleep.

I'm GMT, when I stopped posting last night it was around 11pm/midnight, I went to bed then got up this morning around 7am for work. it's midday here now I figured the forum would still be here when I woke up pretty much because it wasn't the 26th in Edmonton by much.

 

EZ you've been a saint chatting to people and spreading info on this the final day.

btw yeah I saw swirlwind's story it was lovely..

and some say clone wars is still charging his phone to this day........

Aww, shucks.

It's been fun. It actually moved me to make a third (and final) post in the farewell thread. Tonight's been sort of a condensed version of the good times I've had on these forums. You get out of interactions whatever you put into them. I've had some good interactions tonight.

I have purchased multiple copies of BG and BG2, though have not played either. Also have multiple purchases of NWN1; not a bad idea as one came with a manual that I still utilize, and being Techless, I may need to re-install the game yet again. But cannot recall getting more than a single copy of any other titles.

Have been hanging out at Bioware forums since around '98 or so; started to look up more info on NWN1, then became rather involved on chatting about it on the second set of boards. Met a lot of Bioware, D&D, and gamer friends and fans, and discussions, tips, builds, contests, fan-fic, pics, and posts were seen over the years since. I posted so often then that I was quite pleased and a tad scared (ie; used to post a lot from work) that I had achieved the overall top poster for one set of forums; maybe two.

Shall miss the interaction with both fans and Devs, on-line campaigns, meetings, talk of company picnics, BBQ, or simply having nachos downstairs with others. Tales of fan sent baked goods, trout-slapping running jokes, pool noodle and Nerf battles, advice and humor concerning health, diets, travel, comics, TV, films, wrestling, jobs, etc; most anything except the couple of topics not to be discussed on these game forums.

Still believe that closing these forums is an error, but will continue to support Bioware until I cannot. Hope both the fans and Devs come out of this OK, but expect less info in the future; cannot see how this helps either group. ME:A is still pre-ordered, but worry about getting future game info as I do not utilize social media.

So no long farewells; simply a wish to see others again soon, and that those that do gather after all this strive for improvements.
