The mods must be having the time of their lives.

Don't know why their bothering to lock down the threads since BSN is going to shutdown anyway so they might as well let us have some fun.

The big reason why BSN is being nuked is because we aren't allowed to have fun.
What can we do now?!, is this the end of the times?, Who did steal the toilet paper?!
I'm honestly incredibly disappointed and somewhat angry about this. I know my post count isn't high, but I lurk quite a bit and highly enjoy these forums. The Bioware fandom has helped me through some tough times and remains one of my most passionate fandoms, and it's literally the only one at this point that still maintained a centralized forum for fans to connect on. Outsourcing that to 3rd party sites that aren't designed for in-depth interaction like forums are seems incredibly thoughtless on the part of the Bioware team.
I really wish you would reconsider this decision. The stated basis seems to be that because dev<->fan interactions on the forum are low, the forum no longer serves a purpose. But fan<->fan interactions are just as important, if not (in my opinion) more so. Forums serve a specialized purpose that other social media like twitter, reddit and tumblr not only don't meet, but aren't designed to meet in the first place. Those sites are designed for brief, immediate interaction and often lack historical consistency (i.e. people that hang around long enough to remember such & such user or things like which thread from the past would be useful for a new comer to read). Their readiblity is not geared towards the long conversations that forums like this can maintain. I mean, have you ever tried to read a popular thread on reddit? It's impossible to really keep track of most conversations on there. Twitter can barely hold conversations and certainly not ones with complex ideas that can't be boiled down into 140 characters, and tumblr is a nightmare and quite literally impossible to hold real, cohesive threaded conversations on.
What I'm saying is that, for all its faults and trolls and ridiculousness, shutting down the forums is a loss to the community and I truly believe it to be much more of a disservice to the fans than the lack of developer interaction. I really hope you'll reconsider this move. Or at the very least leave us the Mass Effect Andromeda forum so that fans can have a centralized place to talk before and after the games release.
Lame. Hopefully you use the money you save to make better games again.
Oh man, this is the kind of thing that I have loved about this forum. ![]()
This is a centralized location dedicated to discussing all things Bioware, in a format superior to Reddit, Facebook and Tumblr. We can't have the kind of discussions we've had here on social media sites. This is a place for fans. We have a community here. Please don't do this.
Haven't been there in while just came back due to today's announcement regarding the closing of BSN and I say its good to be back on your forums.
I noticed XD
I'm glad that you are back and I hope things are working out well for you
Sucks it is under such bad circumstances though. Even though VSN was a thing, I still loved to come around here and have a bit of a party every once in a while.
Is this because of the trolls?
Be quiet. EA might hear you and decide CDPR smells of money. EA just might try and buy CDPR if they catch a scent.
Nuu
Hey people! I know this sucks but if they don't reconsider this nonsense decision let's go somewhere else? I don't want this to be the end of our community and i'll go anywhere you go. Let's do it with caution, let's choose a place or create one and just go. I don't wanna see everyone going to different places. Let's make our BSN!
Please!?
I have feeling that MEA will be Bioware's last title. I give the company 3-4 more years before it's shutdown. Austin studio will be kept alive for Swtor but will change name obviously.
We've all been noticing this trend in mediocrity of Bioware and they don't have much market presence as they used to.
Bioware is dead.
It's been forever, so please correct me if I am completely wrong because I don't want to go around spouting mistruths, but wasn't Bioware Austin not Bioware anyway? I'm fairly certain that they were Mythic Studios and then they got rebranded as Bioware Mythic (AKA Austin) during development of SWTOR as part of a publicity move to help boost sales.
Looking forward to that one too. In the meantime, Mankind Divided releases next month.
On that subject, if anyone wants to put some money down in my paypal account so I can afford to get games like Mankind Divided again, that'd be great.
I don't understand why they can't maintain presence on here and on other social medias like CDPR does. And on top of that they answer every single fan mails and messages, which I thought was a great way to build die hard fans. And given that even if Bioware is not that active here anymore, they still have tons of die hard fans. Just think about what happens if they are more vigilant.
Anyway, I am waay too hyped for MEA right now not to buy it on day1, and I hope they will at least open up a new forum for me to gush/critic when it comes out.
Still, I am very sad to see my home (DAO forum) go.
Funnily enough, CDPR even posted on this forum in the Off Topic section's Witcher 2 thread.

^I do not have anything nice to say in regards to him saying that, so I won't say anything at all.
I appreciate those that came here looking to grieve with us and understand our frustrations and hopes for a reversal in this decision.
I do not appreciate people with poor histories continuing to add to their poor history.
I have literally no other place on the internet to discuss Bioware games. Every other social media platform is absolutely useless for open in-depth discussions. Out of my IRL gamer friends, only one of them really cares about Bioware lore, and we usually have the same exact opinions/train of thought, and therefore discussions do not get more interesting or insightful than the ones I have here. It's a sad day for Bioware fans.
So, NOW they're doing their jobs? Figures.
