My thoughts on the matter. ![]()

I see so many names here (some I never talked to or only "liked" their comments) that I've read for so many years. It is a very sad thing. ![]()
But...to cheer us all up, if only for a moment: look at Kaidans butt! *points to avatar* ![]()
People just keep bringing up how "toxic" this environment is to the point that its become meaningless. I've yet to see the level of fan engagement present here on any other platform.
And it's hilarious thing to bring up, as Bioware wants us to go to hugely toxic sites like Tumblr and Reddit.
And Dice forums still there.
Yeah, that shinobi602 or whatever guy called BSN a "cesspool of ****" on his Twitter. Man, l thought twitter was less toxic. These guys can't wait to talk trash. Its been less than a day for crying out loud.Reading some of the happy responses from people glad to see this place go in other locations is heartbreaking.
I didn't even do any of the stuff they're talking about but because I've always been here I'm not welcome at these other places.
The hell man. Its like Bioware's sticking up for them and not for us. What gives?
The first thing my brother-in-law (who doesn't play much bioware stuff and hasn't been a huge fan in the past) said to me today was "I can't believe they're shutting down the Bioware forums... that's so sad." Even randoms don't like it ![]()
We're the outcast nerds of nerd-dom. Even the cosplayers are too cool for us.
I never saw much cosplay being posted on here so I never put mine up either. Since I'll never have another chance...

Spoiler
That's pretty amazing! I'm glad I got a chance to see it on this super awful forum (Just kidding!) where we all hate each other (just kidding again!
) before it's gone!
Alright, I just have to say this:
The Admins and BW devs shouldn't complain about this forum. If they spent one day, just ONE DAY interacting in a Brazilian forum or Facebook group, THEN they would learn real fast what a toxic forum is REALLY like!
This whole affair just pisses me off! Do these people even know what some forums are like to determine what is toxic and what isn't? There's a whole level of moral degradation I'm PRETTY SURE these people know nothing about. And yet, they say the BSN is toxic. Why? Because some users have come here and complained about a thing or two about the games? Mind you, they weren't the only ones complaining about the same things. Things such as ME3 endings were criticized everywhere. Even by people who usually give BW products the thumbs up.
Toxic environment my a**! You think you know what toxic people are like? DO YOU? Spend a day having to endure the level of depravity, of general immorality going on in Brazilian forums and then come talk to me about toxicity. You have NO IDEA what it's like! TRUST ME!
This is why people like me come here. Or used to come here. Compared to a Brazilian forum, this is a safe haven for having normal, healthy conversation.
Well, it's a shame.
For all the warts, BSN was the place for Bioware fans to be with other Bioware fans and talk lore and characters. No other media really covers it. No other site really fills that niche. It was a great way for fans to talk to eachother horizontally, rather than vertically with Bioware and back.
Facebook really isn't the same- especially for someone like myself who doesn't do social media much. Comment sections in youtube don't have a community feel either.
Le sigh.

BW would be shocked to see what happens on the mild Fórum UOL Jogos.
Tumblr is an echo fest of SJWs that will love/hate Bioware for literally anything.
> GUYS YOU HAVE TO GO TO REDDIT OR TUMBLR GUYS
Oh this is just too much
BW employees need their safe places because they can't handle people criticizing their games.

Bullet proof windows, troll-safe doors...
So in order to get closer to your audience you're going to shut down the direct line to your audience.
this.

I'm actually sad to see this place go...
I met the great guy who is now my fiancé on these forums, so this place is special to me
Same here. No matter how annoying this place got at times, it's special to me too. Sad to see this place go.
Without it, we'd have never met our guys.
You are absolutely right on that point. As the years have gone by we have been spending more time on other sites and spaces and less time on our own boards. This was unfair to those of you who use our forums.
We took a hard look at how we were engaging our community, and made the difficult decision to focus on fostering conversations in these new spaces, and to close our forums.
New spaces?
Where exactly?
Just, y'know, where?
Nothing says 'we're committed to our community' like closing the community.
They did that when they shut down off topic.

Tumblr and Reddit.
