Oh, don't worry, I understand very well, I just realized after re-reading everything that it was even worse than what I was thinking in the first place.

 

The most ugly part here is that I wanted to start the trilogy all over again and now I don't want to touch the game. Man, I can't believe I'm writting this, ME is one of my fav game ever and I don't want to touch it.

 

I don't want to mix up everything, this is stupid, ME will always have a special place in my heart but what they are doing right now, it's killing some part of my fun I suppose. So much disappointment.

One of my favorite things about this forum is the in depth discussion of game related lore - people will pick apart every bit of dialogue, every codex, every detail in any given scene and the conversation just takes on a life of it's own. Pages and pages of people dissecting the games with their tinfoil hats securely strapped on, happily theory crafting their little hearts out. Tumblr, Twitter, Youtube and Reddit just aren't constructed for that type of discussion. 

 

And out of curiosity I just took a glance at r/dragonage and it appears they're not too thrilled with the possible influx of people making the move from here to there. The mods have their banhammers poised and the users act like they are preparing for war. It's not exactly giving off that 'warm welcome' vibe. 

 

The highest voted post amounts to "They are toxic, we are awesome. Please keep those fellas away with their toxicity, so they don't ruin this place!" with the local mods immediately backing it up.

 

Yeah... seems like you're already successful with the "encouraging of conversations" in other places BioWare. Well done.

 

 

Well, it's a shame.

 

For all the warts, BSN was the place for Bioware fans to be with other Bioware fans and talk lore and characters. No other media really covers it. No other site really fills that niche. It was a great way for fans to talk to eachother horizontally, rather than vertically with Bioware and back.

 

Facebook really isn't the same- especially for someone like myself who doesn't do social media much. Comment sections in youtube don't have a community feel either.

 

Le sigh.

 

Man, I'm gonna miss people like you, Dean. Was always nice to see people bring my thoughts to paper way quicker and more precise, when english as my second language failed me.

I've visited this forum for many years for tips, tricks, mods and other reasons. I'm ashamed to say I've never posted 'til this day however I felt I had to come and at least write something as these news made me feel a bit.. sad or disappointed I guess. For a huge company like Bioware to take down their only forums where fans can actually interact with each other. And I feel that is where the forums are the most important, perhaps not primarily for the developers but for the fans to share ideas, tips and many other things and discuss them in an actual forum, not facebook comments.

 

Also I noticed that some seem to be doing some entire copies of the forums (Great btw!). If anyone from BioWare reads this I truly hope you support these endeavours to keep the legacy of the forums running by linking to them and telling people about them if you won't runt them yourselves.

That's a bug with the dark background setting of these forums that was never addressed (what a surprise).

The Bethesda forums are thriving, so are CDRP's. I don't get this decision at all. An avenue where thousands of fans post about your games, both positive and negative feedback can be nothing but good. Still they decided to axe us, and it really sucks.
