They won't. Why give money to people who are contemptuous of you.

No no, I mean wanting all our monies.

They don't even tweet about game development that much anyway.

Yeah, there's nothing to talk about on those other sites except personal life stuff. Because personal life stuff is what THOSE sites are for, and THIS one is for talking about the intricacies of the games.

Do they still make games? I could've sworn it was a company devoted towards intersectional feminism, BLM and bashing Donald Trump.

I hope so but unlikely. Off topic people assumed that they would reopen Offtopic when they realised what a mess it made and then a year passed and this happened.

Before or after EA force chokes Bio to death for their next failure.

Aye, we hoped Off Topic would be back once Bioware realized how much worse the place got as a result of it being closed and instead this is what we get.

Utter nonsense.

I still don't understand why they're deleting all the information. It seems senseless to me to erase all the lore and discussions that took place here. I'd somewhat understand y'know if they were having financial issues, but they are claiming it isn't a monetary issue. I'd wager outside of BioWare's own office that the BSN is the largest collection of Mass Effect and Dragon Age lore and information available to BioWare and the players.

This may not matter. Last time I checked the Internet Archive worked fine for this board.(Though not for social.bioware.com, its predecessor.

If these forums were good for one thing, it was letting Bioware know people didn't like ME3's ending. They're still complaining about it.

The never-ending, ending discussion.

If they actually want it gone, they may request it be removed.

I think it's sad when in a month I'll be able to post in story discussion threads on official forums for such literary masterpieces as Street Fighter V:Story Mode, Diablo 3, and League of Legends but will have no avenue from a company that supposedly focuses on in-depth RPGs.

Utter nonsense.

They probably despised the sub. So much optimism, positivity, and enthusiasm in regards to other devs games instead of their own.

If you want to start backing things up programs such as HTTrack are a good start.

Saving everything manually would be kind of tedious though.

I've backed up a few threads with it.

This is going to backfire on them in at least one way that they don't expect.

Once they've agreed to offer support only over Twitter, they no longer have the ability to filter out the criticism. They are obligated follow through on support. Consequently, all those people whose negative tweets they currently filter out can't be filtered out, anymore. At least, not on whatever support feed they establish. If they don't think that'll become a complicated mess, they're really in for a surprise.

Essentially, without this place as an outlet and common resource for information about their games (particularly the functionality of complex elements like ME 3 MP) they're going to find themselves flooded elsewhere, but completely lacking the tools to do anything useful with it. The developers would require staff to answer all the questions about their games who cost a lot more than the fans who have compiled the bulk of that information on their behalf (including the one they permabanned this morning.) It will become white noise distracting them constantly, which is certainly worse than whatever current costs and distractions are associated with this place.

You're assuming they give a crap if people they don't like experience technical difficulties.  I really rather doubt that they do.

Well I got a warning point for something that was clearly a joke. Anyway, I apologise Fredward I don't know what came over me. I didn't mean to imply that you were in any way apart of this toxic environment.

Just for the record I know you were joking, it's why I liked your post. I definitely did not  report you.

2) Him receiving "unacceptable, childish and needlessly antagonistic" responses in Twitter proves that Twitter is not a solution for the toxicity problem, even though it's provided as one. The same thing would just happen all over again.

Him, some mistake here : the "unacceptable, childish and needlessly antagonistic" responses I was talking about were in this thread. As for the abuse taken by Gaider, I was refering to the time when he still was in Bioware and answered on the forum.

And it's obvious that the alternative proposed to the forums are ridiculous, they absolutely don't and can't replace forums, they are just excuses provided because you have to answer something.

My point was rather to say that the community has a lot of responsability about dev not wanting to post on the forums anymore - but shutting down the forums altogether is entirely on EA's shoulders.

3) Bad online behaviour is solved by good moderation. This, in turn, takes money. Which is one of the reasons why I still think this is primarily about money, and money only.

Like you're saying, this might well herald the end of BioWare :/

I think it's not even only about money, but more about both a lack of care for consumers (and consumers feedback) by EA, and maybe some wariness about potential backlash for their products later, which doesn't bode well for ME:A.

I'm also assuming that they give a crap about not being flooded with negative comments over Twitter.
