It's run by Cassandra Saturn. A confirmed psychotic who badly needs mental help. The people who go there are going to get fucked over eventually and I worry about them. I'd rather they go to TSG than there.

The thought of Cassandra having that many people's IP addresses alone is troubling.

While we're speaking in I'd rathers, I'd rather the split had never happened.

I wish I didn't feel like Bioware was Vince McMahon levels of out of touch with the forum.

Ehhhh if I could go back in time and handle things better I would but foresight is 20/20 and all that.

70 pages of reply so far. Kind of shows poeple are not taking this very well

Yes, not a surprise. But I hope you aren't thinking that it makes any difference for Bioware. They knew that people would be unhappy with this decision as much as they knew people would be unhappy with their decision to shut down the off topic section.

The devs are literally tired of this forum that does nothing for them and cost them something. A forum that was supposed to serve their purpose, whatever the hell it was. They stopped to come here months ago. They decided to shut down the off topic, and it's not the complaints that did anything to change that. Just look at the reaction of David Gaider when he learned the news. He is just the primary example that makes me think that for the devs, the forum was already useless and dead a long time ago. They just don't see why they should keep something and pay for it, something that has totally become useless in their eyes, when they can look in some more interesting places for them. They see more negative points about keeping the bsn than positive ones. They do not see the Bsn as a value anymore for their compagny regardless of what the posters here think.

They are not going to be generous people that will let this forum live just because fans could talk to other fans while they don't think it could benefit them anymore. There are other places for that. Go elsewhere, that's basically what they think, forgive me, that's what they claim actually.

They didn't even make some efforts to give good reasons to shut down the forum.

I've never heard of Cassandra Saturn until today, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. I signed up to that forum and intend to use it for the time being.

Some difference is being made and that's in people figuring out where to move to *cough*  http://vroomvroom.freeforums.net/ *cough* but other than that, yeah not much is going to be achieved. Some of the devs do care and one actually popped in on VSN to talk to us after Bioware shut down their Off Topic section, it's just that the undesirable devs are more vocal.

It does serve a purpose. You think the complaining people do will magically disappear because this forum does? They mess something up on game be it real or just imaginary problems only they see forums, facebook or any place else will still have people complaining.

Yeah the forum looks nice but letting Cassandra Saturn in charge of a forum is the path to madness.

I don't think it really matters. Without a semi-official forum, any attempt will be fruitless.

This is an interesting choice by EA to shut down the forums. Putting aside this being a mitigation factor for ME:A's release for the time being, I think they're doing themselves a deservice here. These forums and the very vocal community that inhabited them have been one of the unique aspects that separated Bioware individually and then as a subdivision of EA from other studios. Yes, others have social media outlets as well but the reputation this place had, good or bad, would in my mind make it a unique asset to the company.

I recommend running for the hills. Some of the highlights include being an Airforce Pilot as a kid and being a member of the Earth Defense Force :)

I'm still very upset about the news.

Whatever this place has become in the eyes of others, I love it, with all the crazy. Sometimes because of the crazy. In small doses.

For me playing Bioware games is intrinsically tied with being a part of bsn, coming here, dissecting lore, crafting theories, getting excited about characters, discussing narrative choices. Waiting for the new game is so much more fun with peeps in here. I would never have become such a massive fan of their games and lore junkie if not for others in here. I will miss this place so much ;_;

Losing this community is painful, but the worst is the loss of the collective knowledge about the games that was gathered here through all those years. It is still such an invaluable source of information. Years worth of content should not be waved off so easily. :/

Well, it was Bioware that brought us together and it will be Bioware that separates us.

Guess that makes VSN and TSG post-brand split Raw and Smackdown then.

You should read her biography. Ignoring everything people are saying here, she doesn't stick with anything. Her forum won't survive for long I fear.

Shame, because it at least looks bsn ish

Partly no doubt because s/he/it has made it a habit of leaving the forum everyone once in a while (complete with melodramatic "I'm leaving" thread), only to come back a week or so later with an alt account.

As for the person, mentally unstable is a fit description. This person is certifiably out of whack. Also a bonafide attention seeker. Oxford dictionary could just put her picture next to the entry for that term.

Okay, so it is a new day, but, when I think about this decision too hard, I still cry.

First, I went to the site "Cassandra" something started, unfortunately, she, or I suppose could be he, does not know how to use the shift key to begin a proper sentence. And, Twitter does not know how to use proper words, not to mention punctuation symbols run amok there.

Conal suggested Reddit, so, I admit it, I actually went there. Besides the fact that the mods are going to take steps to ensure we do not go there as the posters do not want us there, the print was so small it made my eyes bleed. Definitely not iPad friendly, so, I actually downloaded the app, now the print is so big that, even on the smallest setting, "grape", not really funny, I can only see two posts at a time. And, to top it all off for me, a word that got DragonRacer banned for here, is not only uncensored, but prolific on that site.

Uh, yeah, definitely not for me, oh, and it is text only, so no, what is the world coming to if there aren't any TOP's.

Don't tell that to Cassandras face. Could end badly.
