Don't worry TSG suffers from problems with nepotism too.
Yeah, we once held a poll about who would be president of TSG, and E-Ro won due to some tampering with the ballots. It was awful.

I nominate Dio as mod, we need southern hemisphere representation.

Poll was nuked, nobody won. Not what I was talking about at any rate.
Instead of jumping off into an unofficial forum that probably won't end up being successful, I'd say it's a better use of time and effort to communicate RESPECTFULLY to EA's and BioWare's community teams about why the forums were a good thing to have, what you liked about them, and most importantly what purposes they serve/served for the companies. Maybe nothing will happen, but it's better than doing nothing.
I'd say the best use is a combination of both. As we express to Bioware why this place is important to us, we are also putting our affairs in order in case when the forum is shut down we are all scrambling to try and find each other again.

I'm not going to bother because at this point I don't care about Bioware , and I don't care about being thrown out like a leper or being called toxic trash or hearing about how the community made them go to the shrink.
Let them nuke the forum from orbit , maybe some will feel a sense of small victory.
The VSN and TSG are super successful frienemies.
Like Sauske and Naruto.

Dio will lead us into the light.
Then promptly murder us before we got there.

Hey, guys, since we're apparently already toxic anyway, why not just embrace it and all migrate to RPGCodex?

guys this thread isn't the place to air out all the dirty laundry between VSG, TSG, and whatever the hell is wrong with Cass Saturn.
This thread is about why BioWare is closing the forums, and why they are lying to us about their reasons for it
I bet we'll get as much of a response and care from them as we did when they shut down the Lobby, regardless of how we conduct ourselves. If all of the above discussions help people figure out where to go on from here and helps keep friendships intact and friends together, then I'd say it is a more meaningful discussion. It's really unfortunate that is how things are, but it is what it is and that's a steaming pile >.>
Has anyone considered the unlikely possibility that this may be a stealth attempt at 'restarting' the community? Just like DA:O back in 2009, when ME:A launches, a new website/forum will be put together and stuff, with a completely new database. Am I off the mark?
I would love for this to be true but I think it's a part of downsizing the amount of spaces that Bioware itself has to oversee. They don't have to moderate the twitter community at large, facebook is primarily a marketing tool, reddit has it's own moderators, and tumblr can similarly be left to it's own devices.
There's been a real lack of community engagement and management for a couple of years now. It's sad.
I don't think that'll help. They've clearly made their decision, so the only thing left to do is plan for the future.
Again, better than nothing.
I can't wait to tell people what I really think of them on Aug. 25.
Anyway, I expect they will be announcing something new soon. Best way to avoid having 686534688 threads about why whatever they announced is stupid.
I may not even wait that long tbh.

I only just got here but when Steel is the one trying to get a thread back on topic I can only imagine things have gone horribly wrong.
David Gaider said on his Twitter that closing down the BioWare forums was overdue. I'll never spend a penny on anything he touches.
Yeah, what a d**k.

Im trying to figure out if they would bother banning anyone at this point.

It's the Ark Contingency

I imagine the mods are still paid so you'd still get banned.
I doubt they will go YOLO too.
