is this all one big stunt by Bioware to try to put people into the mindset of the characters in Mass Effect: Andromeda, saying our home will be destroyed but there is a new home in a faraway place?

They permanently banned DragonRacer for swearing. So yeah, I think they will.
She's back, but it doesn't change how unfair that perma ban was.
All because of eyebrows.

That's what they'll say when they bring the forums back.

BioWare don't even pretend they hate us lmao.
It's all your fault, your horrible choice of waifus brought down BioWare's ire upon the community.

You've ruined the surprise.
I'm sure taking the metaphorical role of the Reapers will be a winning strategy for them.
True, we cannot comprehend the Reapers.
Sad and a bit shocked to hear Bioware's even doing this. I know foruming in general isn't as big as it used to be, but it's still undeniably a great, unifying and unique platform for communities to utilize. Bioware's forum may have had its issues and I'm sure that's difficult to deal with, but certainly actually managing a community and attempting to build bridges is better then burning them? I've never known a good game dev to not have a forum for their fans to use. This.... does not really bode well for Bioware in my mind, I hope the gut feeling I'm getting is wrong, but... well.
RIP Bioware Forums. I may not have posted here all that often, but I did have fun reading through what the community was up to and was genuinely looking forward to discussing ME:A here when it released. Sad to think I won't be able to do that now, depending on its quality Andromeda could have been a bit of a redemption for this place after what ME3 put it through.
Sad times.

LOTGH >>>>>> Mass Effect anyway!

Wow i'm quite surprised by this, and would love to know the real reason.
Sure BSNers spewed out some negativity over the years, but it was always because we were fans and cared. Absolutely the best place for game discussion and "clever use of game mechanics" in it's day.
For some reason this song seems appropriate:
Just had to bring the feels, didn't ya? "Hello from the outside."

Forum IT?
I want to make it extremely clear that I know for a fact that he does not speak for the developers at BioWare.
Or, rather, some may share his opinion, but most definitely not all of them (in fact, it does not appear that all BioWare staff were even aware this was happening until recently.)
Forum IT?
No. It's destroy and we're the synthetics.
We are beautiful
No matter what Gaider says
Words can't bring us down
We are beautiful
In every single way
Oh !!!I'm going to die from laughter!!!!
The longer I think on this the madder I get.
Honestly, it just feels like BioWare doesn't even care about the fans anymore. I've loved their games for so long. I've almost always been a positive supporter and when I had problems I stated them respectively and then let it go.
Now I feel like, why should I even bother to be a customer? They obviously don't care about the fans. Some of us can't afford to travel the world over to attend cons. Some of us don't like reddit/tumblr/twitter. My FB is personal, I'm not using it to comment on their stuff and have ppl creep my page and I'm not making a 2nd one. So, I guess that's all my problem now.
Wanna talk about your excitement for upcoming games? TOO BAD! Wanna discuss lore? TOO BAD! Want to talk about your favorite quest/story/character with like minded individuals? TOO BAD! Want to have discussions with others and get their points of view? TOO FREAKING BAD! We don't want you!
If you can't praise us in 140 characters or less we don't have time for you.
*Shakes head and wanders off*
Oh well, won't be keeping up with game development then and reading/discussing stuff with others. Bye Bioware.
I'm gonna miss seeing your handle.
Same, dude, it was always great seeing you here whenever I checked in.
Instead of jumping off into an unofficial forum that probably won't end up being successful, I'd say it's a better use of time and effort to communicate RESPECTFULLY to EA's and BioWare's community teams about why the forums were a good thing to have, what you liked about them, and most importantly what purposes they serve/served for the companies. Maybe nothing will happen, but it's better than doing nothing.
Where am I gonna write all that, on Twitter?
Besides "respectful" is a relative term. Relative to how I'm really feeling. For example, right now I'm feeling pretty disrespectful. There are alot of things I want to say. So, the mighty effort I'm employing to communicate respectfully may still have a little Bite to it. But compared to what I really want to say, it's pretty darn respectful...trust.
It won't make a difference. They did this with OT. They did not change their minds about that despite the feedback. Pages and pages.
There is a part of me that thought along the lines of @FieryPhoenix in that maybe this is a forum "reboot". And everything will be nice and shiny, etc for ME:A and what comes next. But why not just say that then?
So, yeah. I think I'd like to see a poll where people are going. So far all I see are Reddit; RDF; VSN and TSG..?
Such a shame, but they apparently... just really don't like us. lol! I mean, I thought they did, sort of, even though we got on their nerves. But hey, they got on my nerves, too--I still liked them, though.
I saw that tweet from Gaider. Then I saw Priestly respond with a "Bye Felicia" and a winky face. Gaider liked the comment. I had to look up the term "Bye Felicia"......and I see now what they actually think about us. All these years, all this time. Yeah" #iPlayBioware " what a laugh they must have gotten from that. People sending them stuff; thank you's and art, and all that.....
So be it.
